McCain For 'Marriage Between Passionate Females'

Posted: Tuesday, March 27, 2007 10:01 PM by Countdown

...at least that's what his MySpace said for a brief time today...

The site was hacked over a breach of netiquette by McCain's web people, who were using a free page template without giving credit (that's almost stealing!), and "hotlinking" images from the designer's site, using his bandwidth (that sorta is stealing!).

The 'hacker' tells his tale here.

You see, John McCain's people commandeered my world-renowned MySpace design template and did a few things wrong:

  1. They did not credit me for the template, even though the template explicitly requested credit.
  2. They used my own unmodified imagery, specifically for the "Contacting John McCain" table.
  3. As if #2 wasn't bad enough, the McCain crew is actually pulling their image directly from my server on each page load. So every time someone visits the McCain MySpace page, my bandwidth is being used to deliver part of the page! Bad McCain!

So...

Numerous people have written me over the last few weeks to tell me that McCain has been using my code, but up until I realized he was pulling images from my server, I didn't really care. A lot of celebrities including Ryan "Van Wilder" Reynolds and the beautiful Nelly Furtado use my code and I'm totally cool with it.

But then I read the article in today's Newsweek about how politicians are all setting up MySpace pages in order to "connect" with younger audiences. McCain's MySpace page is listed, as are the pages from several other candidates. I think the idea of politicians setting up MySpace pages and pretending to actually use them is a bit disingenuous, so I figured it was time to play a little prank on Johnny Mac.

Don't forget to Vote!!

All you people need to get a life!!! And you all wonder why there aren't any good candidates out there, look in the mirror and you will get your answer. We are a country that is so full of itself and focused on individual possessions and the "me first" complex. My apologies to the folks out there who are actually doing something valuable with their lives.
I'ts about time McCane and the rest of old frtas go into retirement.
Sam, Who's apologies? Should those apologies go first?
I agree w/M. Watson and others on this post...Hannity is a jerk. Yeah....I'd like to use the language that is more to the point regarding that moron...but we all know...ya can't post that! All the talk show hosts in that crowd, Rush, O'Reilly...and Hannity...would sell their own mothers for a dime. I'm for getting this Iraq war done and over with...without losing face. Give our troops the tools, and the go ahead...to get the job done. It's not going to happen fast...nor easily...but LET it happen instead of all this political back biting that goes on in Washington. Mr. McCain....has lost his validity. He is an A$$kisser....and fits right in with the rest of the fat cats in Washington...who are only looking out for themselves. Power, money, and more power and Money. Have a thinking day, America!!
If you folks are really interested in a good candidate, look at Tom Tancredo. Look into your souls, look at all the facts of the world we are living in and read about this man. What do you want for the future of this great nation? Although there is no candidate for this other op[tion, look up americafirstparty.org for local candidates and for future national candidates. For now though, if you are truly disappoiinted in McCain and you know how dirty Hillary is and you know that Obama is just a flash in the pan; a feel good candidate for the media, give a good look at Tom Tancredo. ANd remember one more thing... If you are truly against the Iraq war, ask yourself why Iran was thrilled to see Dems take over our congress. Ask why they have openly stated they want a Dem to win in 2008. They are our enemies. There is a reason they let the hostages go the day Reagan became president- they feared him. They did not fear Carter, and they fear no Dem today. They actually look at them as allies, and for good reason. Please do not knee-jerk react to this. Do the homework first, please.
When any of you serve his country the way he did and sacrificed, as he did: then, speak up. others, shut up.
Fred, you seem nice/smart enough. I'll check out Tancredo if you check out Ron Paul.
We cannot win the war trying to be nice. A fighter does not win the fight by letting his opponent catch his breath. World War Two was not won by being the good guy. If we knock it down, let them re-build it. If they do not want to be treated like POWs, kill them, so they will not be. That is how WWII was won, and what we are going through now is exactly how Viet Nam was lost. How do you make friends with the local Iraqis? Simply put, stop paying them $10.00 per month to rebuild their country, while paying Halliburton workers and the like get paid thousands of dollars per month each. Pay the Iraqis who want to work, bring some of the civilian workers home and let the military do their work as they should. By the way, I am a Christian, Air Force Veteran and chairman of the America First Party organizing committee for South Carolina. I do not like this war either, nor any other, but since it is necessary for us to be there and probably in Iran in the near future, we should fight it to win it. Please do not think the Militant Muslims are going to stop terrorism voluntarily if we pack up and leave. That is not how they think.
McCain would be quite capable of leading this country as is George Bush. I am proud of a president who will not cave under pressure from the near sited. Every one of us has a right to our own opinion, I happen to disagree with many of the previous comments. Terriorists are weapons of mass destruction and they are alive and well - we can fight them over there, or here, I would rather it be elsewhere. I suggest focusing on the terriorist leaders and less attacks on American politicians.
I LOVE Ron Paul from the great state of Texas. Tom Tancredo is a standup guy, from what I know of him. Ron Paul would be my preferred choice, if he ran.
Jon- Is there a way for us to get each other's e-mail addresses? I'll put mine out here, if I have to.
does McCain even know about the myspace page, or know what one is? He surely doesn't have time to read this crap. Someone failed out of their community college and volunteered their support of his campaign...or Nancy Pelosi asked one of her many family members on the payroll to set this whole thing up.
C A, Tuscaloosa, AL: You are absolutely correct about the plight of the Democrats. The Dems are so disorganized, with no message to the average voter. They miss the big picture. Why are they not talking about the war on terror in terms people can understand? Here are some suggested themes for the Dems as 2008 approaches: A) Democrats are against terrorism. Bush's approach to fighting terrorism is a joke. We want to fight terrorism, not build democracy in foreign lands. Let's take the billions we're spending in Iraq and actually start fighting terrorism in places like Afghanistan, Indonesia, and the Middle East. Why did the Current Occupant lead us into Iraq? If we want to fight terrorism, let's do it. What has Iraq got to do with terrorism? Al-Quida only entered Iraq after we invaded and failed to secure the borders. Bush's has completely failed in Iraq. B) We're for fighting terrorists. Bush and the Republicans have failed at this. The commander-in-chief is supposed to enforce the laws of the land. How is Bush doing at that? Well, six years later he still hasn't been effective in finding and punishing the perpetrators of 9/11. Where's Osama bin Laden? Instead of focusing on this, he's lost over 3,000 lives and spent hundreds of billions of dollars fighting a failed war in Iraq. Let's get rid of him and start fighting terrorism. 3) We want someone who can protect us from terrorists, not create hundreds of new ones every day because of his failed foreign policy. Bush's failure to understand the situation has made us less safe as a nation, and the longer it goes on under a Republican administration, the more in danger we become. 4) Bush has so colossally failed in Iraq. Does anyone have any faith that he and the Republicans can handle the quickly deteriorating Iran situation? North Korea? An emerging China?
I see on his website that Tancredo called for Gonzo to resign. So I can agree with him on that. While the precieved national interests of the US and Iran certainly different, they may not be mutally exclusive. Maybe Iran doesn't want a war so close to their borders. If some Iranian politicians said they were glad the democrats took over congress, that does not mean it is NOT in our national interest to end this war. And it appears to me that the Iranians do not fear GW, although I do.
MJB-Utah: My you are angry. I don't support Bush or this war but I don't think that makes me a pin-head. Can you not disagree with people without calling them pin-heads? And then we have Dean from CA stating those on the left are the most vindictive people. And some in here support Hannity who calls people like me traitors because I don't support the war. Hannity could not have held my BAR for me in Vietnam for three tours so I don't want to hear from his foul-mouth. You like Bush and apparently support this war but I won't call you a pin-head because of your opinion. I'll say you have a right to your opinion. I appreciate your speaking to many of the troops and commend you for it. I also appreciated others speaking to me when fighting in Vietnam. And at the time I would have told you, hell no, don't stop this thing because we can kick their ass. I mean what else was I supposed to tell you. I was there fighting and didn't want to have to be shot up or killed for nothing. Plus as a younster I needed to think that what I was doing had purpose. Hell, that's why many join anyway. To have a purpose in life. But that does not mean that what I was doing did have purpose. And later as I matured I realized it did not have purpose. Other than perhaps watching out for the health of my buddies and getting my ass home. If you didn't want others to scream to get these kids home in this poicing action then you should have sent a message to Bush on how to fight a war. Not unlike Vietnam, yes these young military personne want to stay and want purpose to what they atre doing. But by God why didn't this administration give them the all out to kick some ass and win this thing. You couldn't do it in Vietnam and you can't do it in Iraq unless you give these kids them numbers and cut them loose. And I mean cut them loose, no crying over innocents being caught up in the fight, no trials of soldiers for killing insurgents, no mercy. If you can't give them these tools to do what they they were trained to do, what they want to do and that is to win quick, fast and without doubt, then get them the hell out. 130,000 + in a population of millions will not do it. So sorry but Bush is wrong. He has overestiimnated and underestimated throughout this conflict. If he can't get it right then he needs to get the hell out of the way.
Gee Destructo, Made a mistake and red it wrong. Unfortunatly I am dyslexic with dysfarxia, So I tend to get things a little twisted but my poin is the same to the hacker. Thanks so much for pointing out what a dope I am feels just like high school.
With the linked image there is a direct connection between the McCain website and the author's site. As such the connection acknowledges the source, So the thing which allowed this prank also let the source be traced, unfortunately using bandwidth. This is a funny prank on Johnny's amatuer computor nerds, which needs to stay non-bashing to stay funny. Please people, the primary reason McCain did not get the Republican nomination in 2000 was that by simply being a Republican not one of the liberals will vote for him. And the oilmen do not think of McCain as any better than the democrats, because McCain favors many plans to fix the "importing of oil" problem. We need politicians to stop promising to increase benefits while cutting their favorite taxes, and start focusing on real possiblities and not the paper-thin empty promises (of both sides). McCain's Iraq plan was the only plan Congress gave which Bush could accept, which he did (over his political dead body). It would be sad to link McCain to the Bush fiasco. That is like blaming the doctor for your heart attack when he tells you to start exercising. Please with our politics, soldiers, and website property give credit where credit is due and do not bash your political opponets blindly, that is what the Iraqies are doing (except with bullets).
Fred-- jfenili at msn dot com
Fred V, kill POWS? Like the SS did to our troops at Malmedy, or the Japanese did to our troops at Bataan? You've really aligned yourself with some dubious company there.
"Come on people now, smile on your brother, everybody get together and try to love one another, right now." This war has got us as divided at Viet Nam. Republicans - just because we want peace and don't want more of our loved ones killed in this war, doesn't mean we're the ones ruining it or that we've made it worse. Just remember how many troops died before we came into power. Democrats - Don't think that we're not guilty of anything ourselves. Remember howmany of our legislative delegates voted for the war in the first place. And just because we have a differant plan to get out of this, doesn't mean it's the right one. What this country needs is a little more cooperation and compromise to get this done. We can argue about our differences later. If name calling, pointing, and accusing the other of being unamerican or uncaring is how you think this will be resolved then our country has gone to pot. Those who take part in this meaningless rhetoric are no better then the government that got us here.
Tom Tancredo? Take it from one who lives in the district. Mr Tancredo is a one-issue opportunist with a serious fascist bent. He is perhaps the scariest of a plate full of scary candidates out there.
OH and Destructo ever hear of sarcasm.
JFM: Don't disagree with you. I'm telling ya. Somebody better keep a very close eye on Iran, North Korea, Russia and China. Right now if they wanted too, they could make it very very diffuclt for us. My motto is shit or get off the pot. Bush has tried to win a war by handcuffing our military with the likes of Rumsfield. Send in a few thousand and we have these suckers beat. That is BS. If you want to be a super-power you had better learn to speak softly but carry a very and I mean very big stick. You want to attack the US or give us heart burn in Iraq, Iran, wherever, prepare and get organized and have that left hook ready and well-primed. When those boys who crashed their helicopters were killed in Somalia and they dragged their bodies throug the streets we should have taken that country down, to the bottom. The Brits should be preparing to do the same with Iran if they don't release their navy personnel. But if you are not willing to WIN a conflict, and I mean win it the Colin Powell style, then stay the hell out of it. Thaty is why I am for pulling our forces out of Iraq. Bush talks tough but he is a whimp. He needs to be removed. And yes, the dems better get some balls. I have been fairly feisty today JFM and if too feisty I apologize. But I am really getting sick and tired of all the name calling, bitching, flip-flopping and crying from both sides, and between both sides while our youngsters take the hits now and then in Iraq.
To: Barry, Dean, Dennis and any other Right-nut out there. Democrats or the hateful "liberals" (as you like to throw around like you know what it means) have total just cause to tear into any candidate right-left-middle-pink-blue-etc. they see fit. That is part of the electoral process, exposing these people for who they really are. Or do you not remember when Bill got a little frisky in the Oval Office and Righty's made it the Greatest American Tragedy since Pearl Harbor?
Thank you, Jon- will be in touch.
Hey Barry Littlefeather...Just wondering, when will YOUR sorry ass be picking up a rifle and doing a patrol in Baghdad?? When will you be shipping out to IRAQ? When will your children be sent off to fight for a lie in IRAQ? It's interesting how many of you pro-war folks are in such a hurry to send someone else kid off. Wait til Jenna and Bar ship out, then you know Bushie really believes the stuff he's been spewing.
Excellent! What McCain did was flat-out steal an image and bandwidth to boot.. This sort of decadence is misaligned with the tenets of the Republican Party and proves just how liberal he truly is. This is why he has no chance to win in ’08. We need a true conservative next go around. We need someone like Michael Savage, Patrick Buchanan, Newt Gingrich, Tom Tancredo, or Mitt Romney..…not some pantywaist, quasi-conservative, Mexico-worshipper (Bush), or socialist (Clinton, Obama, Kucinich, Edwards, et al..).
Thanks for the writeup. Let Keith know I'm happy to talk to him on the air about this. Contact information provided below. :)
Punk: excellent. McCain: old. Way old. If ever there was a time that this country needed someone young and open-minded, this is it. With W we got someone who was relatively young and completely close-minded. Hence the current mess. About old. If by some amazing confluence of events McCain was elected, he would be 72 and a half as he took office. Ronald (I was already suffering from Alzheimer's and couldn't remember a thing about Iran-Contra) Reagan was only not quite 70 when he took office. Even the most devout senior citizen lover would have to admit that Reagan was a little old for the day-to-day rigors of being President. Let's get a Constitutional Amendment going that sets an upper limit on being President. I mean, how weird is it that there is a lower limit of 35? Bill Gates certainly did a lot of his best work before he turned 35. Ditto Steve Jobs. Ditto John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Thomas Edison.
Jon, Charlotte, N.C. Sure you're not talking about jr's resume? btw, did you live in SC in 2000?
Joe Friday, Please do not mis-interpret me. I did not mean to kill POWs. Do not take them as POWs to begin with. We seem to be risking our own soldiers by being sure to be too nice. If we are at war, we must be destructive. We must kill enemy soldiers, agents, incumbents, whatever you wish to call them. Do not kill them as prisoners, do not "arrest" them. Kill them as if you are at war. They are not surrendering; they are being overwhelmed. Instead of going into the buildings where they are, bomb the building. The "innocent" people know enough of what is going on that they can leave a building, thus saving innocent lives. If they insist on staying where the enemy combatants are, then they are responsible for what happens to them. The other option is that the "innocents" help take them out themselves, so our soldiers don't have to. War is not a nice game- We cannot play it nice.
This guy goes back and forth on issues so much he doesnt know in he coming or going. I hope he runs all the way he good for us demos!
Fred, Iran is our enemy why? I thought we were fighting Osoma and Al-Qaeda. What happend to that?
Sam in DC. You are correct about one thing. Today most people only think of themselves. These people that are posting these messages have a right to be angry. We no long have a government "For the people, By the people!" and haven't for a long time. Millionaires and big business run this country and there killing America. They would rather spend millions of dollars on some Bullsh*t program, than to help improve our school system problem, or our health care problem, ect ect.. I guess they do not want our children growing up smart. They might ask the hard questions, "Why do we have a government that does so much to hurt America? Why are millionaires in charge? How come all our streams and lakes are polluted? Why are all our jobs overseas? How come a foreign country owns most of America? I guess our only answer to them would be. Because our leaders were so interested in making more money for themselves and there friends they didn't care about the little guy or America.
McCain is a tragic figure. Once a credible person his lust for the presidency led him to sell his soul to the bushites for pot of poor quality stew.
People, please DO check out Tancredo's record. Then you will know what most of us here in Colorado already know-- he's a single-issue xenophobe who will not get re-elected here. His entire term in Congress has been an embarrassment to the Great State of Colorado. He is one big joke, running for President. And for those who do not live in CO, a hint: anyone with a Colorado Springs home address is probably so right-wing they'd make Mussolini look liberal. As for McCain, he truly saddens me. I'm a moderate Republican (fiscal conservative, social liberal) who USED to be a fan of McCain. He evidently doesn't see that he had a better chance of winning by staying out of the pocket of the Republican neo-cons. I will not vote for him now. Wondering why Giuliani is doing so well right now, in spite of his Democratic pro-choice, pro-gun control, pro-gay-rights policies??? He's getting support from the moderate wing of the GOP and lots of Independents, precisely because he isn't part of the neo-con clique. All in all, he's really more of a Dem in Republican clothing, with name recognition. He, too, will be mauled by the neo-con machine, because virtually no one can get the GOP nomination without buying into their Dominionist rhetoric.
My brother is a Naval Supply Officer station in a landlocked country teaching management to the Afghan military. The idea of a "surge" or another 100,000 troops or whatever McCain has been calling for is adject lunacy.
Hey CA in Tuscaloosa, Funny how you decry "labels" and early on you degenerate into the Nazi and Gestappo labels. Can you say lack of credibility?
Speaking of WAR(s)every one of them was a racket. A few profit, and many pay with their lives. But there is a way to stop it. You can't end it by disarmament conferences. You can't end it by peace parleys at Geneva or the U.N. And well meaning, but impractical groups can't wipe out war by resolutions. Wars can be smached effectively only by taking the profit out of war. The only way to smash this racket is to draft capital and industry and labor before the nation's men and women can be drafted.Let the officers and executives of armament factories and our munitions makers and ship builders and plane builders and the manufacturers of all the other things that provide profit in wartime as well as the bankers and speculators be drafted and be given the same wages as the current men and women in the trenches get. Let all the workers in these plants get the same wages, all the workers, all presidents, all executives, all directors, all bankers and yes, all generals and all admirals and all officers and politicians and government office holders everyone be restricted to a total monthly income not to exceed that paid to our men and women in the military. And let all these kings and tycoons and masters of business and industry, and all our senators and congressman and governors and mayors pay half their salaries to the families of these brave men and women. Why shouldn't they? They aren't running an risk of being killed or of having their bodies mangled or their minds shattered. The aren't sleeping in muddy trenchs and they aren't hungry. The soldiers, sailors, marines are hungry. Give the captains of the industrial war complex 30 days to think it over and you will find by that time, there will be no war. That will smash the war racket, that and nothing else. These are the words of Major General Smedley D. Butler a two time winner of the Congressional Medal of Honor. In 1935 he wrote "War Is A Racket." It's a great read.
How does someone logically believe that "Democrats are killing our troops"? You have a right to your opinion, but just think for a moment about the fact that Republicans have controlled all three branches of government for the last six years. Did 3,000 American soldiers die because Democrats made a decision to start this war? I don't think so. Sorry to inform you, but 65% of Americans in poll after poll want us out of Iraq. And that number is rising.
" The site was hacked " They use that word to describe everything these days.... Its already been said...this was not a hack. If anything McCains ppl hacked this poor dood's site n' stole his bandwidth. Hacker McCain For Pres 2008!!!!!!!!! Not, pls. BTW Hannity isnt fit to lick Limp-blech's boots.
Kevin, Golden Co. Please explain to me how this is any different than a bank putting a blue dye pack in a bag of money that is stolen? McCain's people had misappropriated bandwidth that was purchased with cash by someone other than them, and and now they've gotten caught with blue dye all over themselves.
Well once again, the notes surely show the "Liberals on this web. I wonder how many of you have EVER served your Country? But then again, you are so much smarter than most of us. Too bad your comments don't reflect that. Has Bush done a great job ??? Nope , but he is far from the "idiot" many of you make him out to be. As far as Iraq... Let the Generals decide what to do and how to do it. Politicians have no business directing Military operations. Neither do you.
Who cares? How many McCains are there on myspace anyways? Will the real McCain please stand up?
No Bob M; I also stated and admitted in the same posting that unforyunately I do use them myself as that is all people seem to understand i nthese communications. I stiil hate them, but no loss of creditbility because I also admitted to using them based on the above. Sorry, you lost your chance to do whatever you were trying to do in your response. Don't try and match a word game or word intent game with me Bob, it won't work.
Gawd it is about time us people took back the country from a bunch of whackobirds... I can't help but laugh at what the future holds.
Bob M; Sorry, don't want you to catch me. Not the same posting. But the posting where I decry labels I did admit using them myself because people like you don't understand any other type of communication. In fact, if we didn't communicate in your labels you wouldn't find the reasons you aparently need to attack someone else. And we don't want to keep you speechless. Bye Bob.
" His claim that the dems are legislating defeat in Iraq is exactly the kind of BS he knows will get him attention." Except that it's not BS. It may indeed get him attention, but no one can seriously deny that legislating defeat is EXACTLY what the Democratic congress is doing.
The problem with Iraq and the vitriol it produces is due to the fact that we should not even be there. After 9-11, Bush started off right… pursuing Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan where they were hiding out. But then Bush betrayed America and the lives we lost on 9-11 by neutering the fight against Al Qaeda and creating his war of choice, Iraq. We took a country that wasn’t a threat to us and was a hated enemy of Islamic fundamentalists and turned it into a broken haven for terrorists. Thanks to either his ineptitude or flat out evil (or perhaps a blending of both), Americans are much less safe now then we were after 9-11, and Al Qaeda is stronger than ever. As for the whole “fight them over there” argument… that’s what we were doing in Afghanistan. There was no need to throw away over 3000 American (plus countless Iraqi civilian) lives, and this needs to be put to a stop NOW.
Channing: Not trying to direct military operations Channing. Just trying to get someone to direct the business of this country which we have every right to do. The President and the Congress are hired by us to do our bidding or did I miss something when this country was created. If the President wants to direct militrary operations as the Commander and Chief, fine, he has the right to do so. But the American people have the right to determine when and when not they wish to send their sons and daughters to fight and die in a war. It's called the democratic process. And when the American people do agree to send their sons and daughters to fight and die in a war, then the President along with his generals can determine the operations to be used to fight the war. And right now, the America people are saying bring their sons and daughters home.
