Sampson and De Liars: First Kyle Sampson this morning threw Attorney General Alberto Gonzales under the bus, then this afternoon, the White House implied he was going to have to crawl his own way back to the sidewalk. After Kyle Sampson eraseed any doubt that Gonzales approved the firings of eight federal prosecutors, thereby disputing the Attorney General's own public statements, the White House is now actively trying to distance itself from him.  Spokeswoman Dana Perino saying this afternoon that it is time, quote: "to let the attorney general speak for himself." How many Republicans does it take to elect a Democratic President? It looks like a land slide for the Democrats is in the making. By defying congress and thumbing his nose at the peoples of the USA George Bush's legacy will be keeping the main plank in the Democratic platform alive until the very end. When the troops start coming home after the 2008 Presidential election the American people and the Democratic party will have no one thank other than George Bush. Their is a common theme in all the problems of the current administration and Senator Pryor has exposed it with his point blank statement "Gonzales lied to me" . It is refreshing to hear a direct statement from a politician instead of statements they can later clarify which Gonzales is the Queen of (George Bush is of course the King of double speak). I am not a fan of any politician who does not use public opinion as part of their decision making process. Hopefully the current trend will continue and accountability will again become common place instead of the exception used only when no other alternative exists.
Say it Keith, SAY IT! Howard Stern. Now was that so hard? Sanjaya survives because of Howard Stern.
Great analogy, Keith, about Sanjaya being voted into American Idol just like our elected officials such as Congressmen are voted into office. Tehehehehe! Do you think these are the same people that voted George "W" into office? Was I not in on the joke at election time? And for the dancing fool Mr. Rove...he is one notch better than Tucker. I don't think there is anything worse than Tucker's Pee Wee Herman toe dance. YIKES! Too bad we did not have the same Sanjaya voters cast their votes for Tucker to win Dancing with the Stars.
Sorry...forgot to add one more thing...Do you think "W" is going to pull out his Hattori Hanzo sword to Kill that Bill? "I killed your MASTER." That would be so gargantuan...I so rarely get to use that word.
Enough already with the insults you’re throwing at poor, sweet Sanjaya. THE LAD HAS STAR QUALITY! OK? He’s a huge hit with tweens and some of us older folk who recognize talent and think he's the cutest darned thing since Doris Day. That smile! That face! That ENERGY! Sanjaya’s voice is a little flat but it’s not as bad as you’re coloring it. His guts, stage presence and general likeability will make him a star, whether he wins the American Idol title or not. Give this boy a break and put him in a TV series or, better yet, a movie! Stop being so mean (special note to Ms. Radio Host Commentator) and start enjoying Sanjaya’s youthful, exuberant, REFRESHING innocence. Don’t make me say “I toldja so.”
Enough about PonyHawk Boy! Keith, did you guys see this: http://www.editorandpublisher.com/eandp/columns/pressingissues_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003564636 Editor & Publisher would have us know that the two "dentist bloggers" who Bush is quoting as saying things are getting just dandy in Iraq are bigger PLANTS than the crying girl on last week's American Idol! They are brothers who wrote their statements WEEKS ago, who met Bush in the Oval Office way back in 2004, whose blog is part of Pajamas Media--you know, the big RIGHT-WING blog chain? In other words, they are to be believed about as much as Armstrong Williams or a TV news report by "Karen Ryan." Figures!
Ok. Gonzales is out, or should be. Next, it's time for Rove. Cheney, well, he is pretty much a nobody now, more like a court jester, and even ignored by his own boss nowadays. So maybe finally, finally we can concentrate on dethroning the head of this clan GW.
Pam & C A : I heard Sen. Orin Hatch on fox this morning, saying it was unconstitutional to attach a pull out clause to the troop bill, & that it's illegal. He was asked, that are the democrat's doing what the voter's wanted them to do, Sen. Hatch responded by saying that's only poll's there reacting to, & congress cannot dictate the war. I thought it was more than poll number's i thought the voter's showed that in november at the poll's. Look's like it will be in the voter's hand's to show them again. Since i'm at work & don't have a copy of the constitution handy do ya'll have any input on that? Thank's
It's time for impeachment folks! Once Gonzo is out of the way, the Dems should go for it while they have 'em against the ropes. I really sorry to have to say this, but I fear the replacement of Gonzo. Does Bush have the grapes to put Miers in there? I really hope not. That's why I think the Dems should strike even harder right now. Do it! I think its pretty clear that Bush doesn't represent the views of the American people; he lies to us regularly; he's stupid; he can't drive a nail with a hammer (seen clip of him trying to from the "Today" show); he has very poor judgement; he can't speak English; and worst of all, he's personally responsible for the deaths hundreds of thousands of people. Dems, show some moxy. Impeach this loser, even if the end result simply marginallizes him.
This whole week we have seen very weak displays of men who used to have power. From DeLay to Limbaugh and now to Coach Richardson. You give them an inch, they take a mile. To keep on making references to Jews and how shrewed they are and crafty and now "hated".Where are you now,Coach Richardson, huh? You are suspended and now outed for not only being a complete moron but a anti semtic creep. Have you ever heard the saying, " you can take the man out of the gutter but you cant take the gutter out of the man". Probably not, I just thought of you and made it up. To redeem yourself any apology would be appropriate but the damage is done. Haters like you show up all the time in the news, just to prove what an idiot you are.If a successful company exists it is due to the successful people behind it, whether Jewish or not, Black or White, male or female. Relgion had no bearing on it, just common sense and a brain for business. If you were so successful, you would have shut up and tried to mirror successful people and become one yourself. You and Rush Limbaugh need to form your own support group for demented idiots who foam at the mouth. I normally dont write this much on a blog but this made my blood boil. You with think after 911 people would be kinder and a litle more gentle, not with these guys. You take the cake!
Max Green: I don't follow this show that much. What's this kid's name again, Sanjaya. Well, the way you describe the young man perhaps you are right. The show is after all called "American Idol", not "American Singer". And if the young teens love him as well as many of the older folk as you say, vote the kid a winner and get him a contract with Disney to make films.
well coach richardson's comments were BIIIG news here in albany. suffice it to say, as hard as they fought to get him here..........he will probably be shown the door
It is fascinating to see different factions come to polar opposite conclusions when viewing the same event or series of events. I suspect this difference is due to the filters that each group uses to interpret the events. The filters are of course the media - internet, tv, radio, newspapers, etc. The left looks for media that supports their position, while the right does the same thing. Both sides reject that which does not agree with their perceptions. The result is that both sides get a distorted view of reality. Unfortunately there is not many media choices which give a truly balanced view. I have to say though that The right is more honest in it’s propaganda than the left – they don’t pretend to be unbiased. The left leaning MSM tries to portray itself as unbiased, when in fact that if far from true. Which brings me to this cynical attempt by the left to blame Bush for not funding the troops by vetoing the unacceptable bill the democrats are trying to push through. But of course the left are going to fall for the ruse hook line and sinker because of the distortions of their filters.
One more week in Hell (Dubya's Ameri-CUH). #1. Let's go with the Attack Cat who bit the Animal Control guy. Now THAT is My Kind Of Homeland Security. #2. Let the Kid 'sing' at the Impeachment Hearings. He's more in tune than they are. #3. Laura, Barney, and the twelve bloggers with Rabid GOP Foam on their keyboards. #4. How about getting the Troops out but still funding the Corporations? Then everybody will be Happy! 5#. Un abogado que habla dos lenguas, vale dos abogados. Un Presidente que habla absurdo lengua, vale nada. {Have an Incredibly Dynamic Week End...or should I say Strong End?}
DCohn: Although we have come a long way in this country regarding tolerance of those who are different from ourselves there still remains a great deal underlying predjudice and racism. Most of it is more subtle today than that shared by Coach Richardson and Limbaugh but it is still there to a greater extent than what people might think. Much of this is due to ignorance as that expressed by Richardson when he made the statement all businesses are controled and run by Jews. There is no doubt he really believes this because he heard it from somewhere or someone he considers a reliable source. He didn't come out of his mother's womb believing it. Hell, he didn't come out of his mother's womb even knowing their were different races, cultures and religions of people. We are all products of our upbringing and when children hear their parents (or other adults) make brainless generalizations against anyone belonging to a different race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sexual preference or disability they too learn to develop and hold the same ignorant predjudices. Outward predjudice and racism is frightening, but underlying predjudice and racism is just as frightening. That is why it is important that we as adults learn to teach our children to talk about and celebrate the differences of others rather than teach them over-generalized ignorant innuendos or untruths about those who are different. Our children both desire this honesty and deserve the same. If you watch the little ones at recess or at a playground running and laughing and having a good time with other children of all races, color, creeds, religions, national origins, disabilities and some who will one day chose a partner of the same sex, they are having a ball and accept without hesitation those they play with for who they are, not what they are. It is only the ignorant beliefs of adults and what they convey to these kids that will one day ruin this harmony that comes so natural to them. We have made progress but we have a long way to go.
"Gonzales was at the heart of the firings despite ever-changing Justice Department accounts of how they were planned; that some of the prosecutors were fired for political reasons; and that White House officials - including presidential counselor Karl Rove - played more than a limited role in the firings." After reading this, there should be no more questions or lingering doubts about the immediate termination of Alberto Gonzalez. If this country's top prosecutor (a joke in itself) is proven to be a liar over and over again - he must go!! In addition, there should be no more "asking" for sworn testimonies of Karl Rove or Harriet Miers. Subpoenas should be immediately delivered and testimony given without hesitation. George W. Bush just needs to "calm down" as Nancy Pelosi stated; and realize he has "lost the media game" via Kyle Sampson's testimony. Having zero credibility prior to this latest scandal, he would lost it anyway. I do believe though, minus Sampson's testimony, Bush would continue his nauseating support of Gonzalez. Yesterday's testimony has remarkably silenced Bush today, thank God. His manipulation via "executive privilege" is also misguided. He cannot legally invoke executive privilege regarding conversations between Sampson/Miers, Rove/Sampson, Rove/Miers, etc. Give it up Bush, you lost!!
Schoo Henderson - Who is this "left leaning MSM tries to portray itself as unbiased" you quote? I haven't heard of them, but I'd like to watch, if "MSM" exists!!
CA...I always enjoy reading your posts...always something interest..."We kill what we fear, and we fear what we don't understand." I read that somewhere, and for me, it sums up hated and intolerance...I hope the following doesn't upset people for that is not my intent...Being an atheist, I feel even though religion in its purest form is about love and tolerance, and most theists are loving and compassionate people, fanatics, zealots, extremists, and hypocrites have taken control of the voice of religion, and a lot of hatred and intolerance stems from religion. Islam is a religion of peace perverted by extremists into hatred and aggression. Christianity has increasing become mean-spirited in America. Condemnation has replaced compassion. See Coutler, Limbaugh, et. al. Some groups of Christians claim to be the most Christian of all; their God is bigger than everyone else's...Everyone else will be damned. The Catholics are not even Christians to some Born Agains...I never though Christianity would become my God is bigger than your God...I wonder if God and Jesus support the Catholics or the Born Agains? I agree that children are not born full of hatred and rage. Children learn from the world around them. Parents, siblings, other family members, friends, society in general, religion...America is divided and full of hate and rage...Religion has become a wedge dividing the world, not uniting the world...England and Ireland have been fighting a religious war for years...The Sunni and Shiite disagree who are the rightful successors of Mohammed...Christians argue their flavor of Christianity is the purest...Again, I stress that the extremists in religion have become the loudest voice...influencing people...the world has become an extreme place...just a thought, I may be an atheist, however, I have no problem with children saying the Pledge of Allegiance with one nation under god...although I wonder how many people know “under God” wasn’t added to the Pledge of Allegiance until 1954 as a way to differentiate the suddenly god-fearing USA from the godless Soviet Union. Apparently, God wasn’t important enough to be added to the Allegiance until then...strange since the Pledge’s first incarnation was in 1892...
I want to thank MSNBC very loudly for re-running Keith at 10 p.m. now. I cannot pry the children away from Disney at 8, but by 10 I can sit down and enjoy Countdown in well-deserved peace and quiet.
George, Hammonton, New Jersey - Great words of wisdom. As a practicing Catholic, I took absolutely no offense whatsoever. One of my best friends is an atheist. He has never once insulted my personal beliefs, nor have I his. However, my beliefs have been insulted multiple times by some of those you have mentioned above; to include the "born again Christians", who have frequently refer to themselves as "recovering Catholics" when speaking to me. This, I find insulting. My religious beliefs were insulted many times over by my ex-husband, who is Muslim. He saw fit to rip up Holy Cards portraying the Virgin Mary and Jesus and throw them at me. He didn't drink alcohol or eat pork, as it is prohibited in the Islamic faith; however, made frequent trips to Las Vegas to gamble, which Islam also prohibits. Oh the hypocrisy!! He was so consumed with hate and intolerance, which ultimately and slowly ate away at my heart and soul, and rapidly deflated my spirit. My atheist friend, on the other hand, is probably THE most loving and tolerant person I have ever known. He's about 12 years older than me, so was able to participate in many civil rights activities in the 1960's. In addition, he gives of himself more than many people I know who belong to somt type of organized religion, or are born again Christians. I am thankful that I was raised by parents who taught me love and tolerance at a very young age, and my entire upbringing. You are correct in that prejudice and extremism comes from teaching in the home, or at some zealot schools. We are not born this way; however, sadly many children are born into homes where prejudice and intolerance is taught, thus your theory of learned behavior. San Francisco was a great place to be born and raised, as I saw everything in the 1970's as a teenager. I attended Catholic school for twelve years; however, I was very fortunate to be taught love and tolerance not only in my home, but in the schools I attended. You are entitled to the same respect as anyone of religious beliefs, and I respect you for your courage and honesty. Also, thank you for sharing the facts about the Pledge of Allegiance, as I have debated/argued in vain with many about what you correctly stated. Thank you for sharing your insightful words on this blog.
Don Oubre, Paulina, Louisiana - Shame on Hatch, but what do you really expect. EARTH to Hatch, not just is Congress within their rights, this branch of government must authorize and approve such funding. People like him amaze me, although after the last six years, nothing should amaze me. He was also on Fox News, which also explains his stupid comments, as Fox either a.) has no idea that there are THREE branches of government, not just one as Bush thinks or b.) they could care less and just let Hatch do their lying for them. Hatch knows as of right now, there are not enough votes in Congress to override George W. Bush's veto, (again, his veto threat can kiss my ass!), which is probably why he's making such ridiculous and false statements. I can only hope, that little by little, the democrats can gain support, even if "one vote at a time", so they can override this incompetent moron's veto. As I wrote yesterday, George W. Bush should be in the vacant prison cell previously occupied by former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic at The Hague!!
Pam Bignardi, San Pedro, California (Sent Friday, March 30, 2007 1:47 PM) Pam, you are obviously one who gets all information from a filter which distorts reality. Also you will reject any information which contridicts your views. I know this because of your protrayal of Bush as the ultimate evil, which is an extreamist position. Unfortunately you don't recognize the distortations and assume you are getting a clear view otherwise you would know that CNN, leans left, MSNBC leans way left and FOX leans to the right. If one can read all of these (and more), pick out the information common to each media source then one can get a clearer picture of events. I know you will reject this advise as comming from a source of evil, but at least I tried. Have a good weekend.
Pam Bignardi: Thank's that's exactly what i expected. I do watch all the network's & am very aware of Fox, i've even written about them here before, but never expected anyone would go as far as saying it was illegal. What really through me was when he actually refered to the november election outcome as just poll numbers. I hope the voter's keep sending thier message. As alway's i value your opinion. Thank's
scott henderson nv - I strongly suggest you go back and re-read the MANY posting directed at you. Unlike George W. Bush and you, I am not "standing alone in the world", either literally or on these blogs. I believe you are sincere in your beliefs; however I also believe you lack the history knowledge to debate such issues, i.e. your calling anyone who disagrees with this war racists. I cannot debate anything with you, as you lack the very basics in not only the violations of this Administration with regards to OUR constitution, this Administration’s violations of the Geneva Convention, the role of the United Nations, and any other law that is an "Inconvenient Truth" for him and his horrid Administration. I'm sorry Scott; however, I learned a while ago not to enter into dialogue with someone who lacks the very basic and fundamental facts. It's impossible. By the way, what is "MSM", as what my original question to you?
Don Oubre, Paulina, Louisiana - Hatch actually referred to November's election as "just poll numbers"? That one is too much, and qualifies him for my nomination for today's "Worst Person of the Day"!! What an idiot!!!
Pam Bignardi, San Pedro, California (Sent Friday, March 30, 2007 4:55 PM) The problem is Pam, what you and your fellow compatriots call facts are distortions of the truth. I have never accused you of standing alone – there are many like you lost in the distortions of your filters. It is obvious that any attempt to convince you of that is doomed to fail locked as you are in your hatred. Please try don’t believe everything you read even if you want to. Remember, the keyboard doesn’t care whether what one types is true or false, the bad things you read about Bush are as likely (probably more likely) to be false as they are to be true.
Scott Henderson NV: I hope it was not Pam,s reply to me that made you respond to her that way, i asked her to. I replyed to 2 of your post before that i did'nt agree with, & asked you to reply back to me, so i good understand what you said, but i did it in a nice way, but never heard back from you.
Scott in Henderson, It is you who are seeing reality through a filter not Pam. Georgieboy is not worthy of your support even Bob Novak the traitor himself is jumping off the sinking ship that is the Georgieboy administration. Even if you are conservative (obviously you are) how can you possibly defend this collection of crooks and jackasses that comprise Georgieboy's administration? Surely there has to be SOMEONE brighter and more trustworthy.
Scott in NV. BTW it is extremist not extreamist. Buy a dictionary or use spell check if you must

Stephen Marder, Portsmouth, Virginia - Senate confirmation is needed for AG's replacement. Unless there is something else that was slipped into the Patriot Act by this Administration, and Congress approved without reading. Bill Maher was 100% correct in his analogy of this sad situation too. Congress was "shocked" that verbiage regarding replacing US Attorneys without Senate oversight was in the Patriot Act. Hell, they voted to approve it!! Shame on them too for not reading what they vote on!! Hopefully they will all spend their "Spring Breaks" reading the Patriot Act, since they voted to approve it, it would nice to see that they understand it; in addition to no more embarrassing and horrible surprises!!
The point is Bill, we all see the world through filters, the people who report the events all have biases which ultimately come through in their reporting. Some people ignore those biases and even ensure they only get information from biased sources. In that way their picture of the world is distorted. The Bush haters are a prime example of this principle. Thank you for the spelling lesson, I love the spell checker but sometimes forget to use it.
Scott - "there are many like you lost in the distortions of your filters" you state. Well thank God or we would be far worse off than we are now. Congress would be 100% GOP and Bush would change his title to what best fits his Administration, "Dictator Bush"!! The Constitution would be used in lieu of toilet paper in the White House and elections, what are they? You do make me laugh though, Scott - thanks for that at least!!
I’m sorry Don, I get busy sometimes and forget to respond. Have a good weekend.

scott henderson nv - Hate is a very strong word Scott; and I have never said I hated him. However, I do own a thesaurus from college and words like abhor, despise, detest, disgust, loathe and repulsed by are very fitting words for my personal feelings towards George W. Bush. However Scott, I didn't awake one morning consumed with these feelings for absolutely no reason at all, or I had nothing better to do that morning!! You are blinded by a man who has spent six years tearing apart everything are forefathers built and fought for. If that's ok with you, great, go live in a country where "one man rules for life", or "it's my way or no way", or "I make up the rules as I see fit", or "I interpret the laws as I want them", etc. This deplorable and horrid man has done not just these things, but has caused such harm to our standing in the world that it will take years if not decades to fix - if at all possible. You just don't get it Scott, and I'm very sorry you don't.
Bill Rochester NY - PS: Thanks and I'll get your back next time!! But judging from your posts, you do just fine! Keep up the good work!!
Don - I hope those long hours don't keep you away that long. Hope to hear from you via email, and thanks for the nice words!!
Pam Bignardi: I've been doing this from work & have been mispelling word's alot because i'm trying to rush. I should be doing me job instead, just did not think that one question to you would get this going like it did. I'll email you soon. Thank's
Scott...so the right wing for war and intolerance is more "honest" in supporting and reporting the lies of Bushworld...the right wing media campaign of lies has convinced about a third of Americans that Iraq and Saddam had something to do with 9-11...I would like to see one fact that supports Saddam and Iraq had something to do with 9-11 besides the lies told by Chaney and Fox Made Up News...I don't even have to mention the weapons of mass deception which were proved to be a lie...But Fox not Fact News still disseminates the mass deception as "truth"...Now the Bushworld line is Saddam had a dream he thought about making weapons of mass deception...the reality was he had mustard gas which he had left over from Desert Storm!!! Mustard gas was an invention of WWI. The whole Niger yellowcake lie was exploded in the Libby trial...I guess Valerie Plame lied when she said she had nothing to do with her husband being sent to Niger....I forgot, only the left wing lies...People like DeLay and Gingrich never lie, never have affairs; DeLay got indicted, because it was a liberal conspiracy......Here is a fact, Bush and Dumsfeld didn't supply troops with armor for their Humvees when the invasion began...fact, Bush has run the military into the ground...Military experts are saying it will take years for the military to recover in terms of people power and equipment...Fact, Halliburton only misspent 2.9 billion dollars in Iraq. FACT..the GAO report stated that not the liberal media...no spin can change that facts...no spin can change the Walter Reed fiasco...Bush and gang forgot to support the troops again while saying it is the Democrats not supporting the troops....Fact, Bush has cut the VA budget during war times, his war...not a liberal lie...you can check the budgets! Dumsfeld didn't send enough troops before and after mission was accomplished on 5/1/03...if the mission was accomplished, why are our soldiers still dying? Ashcroft said the war would be cheap and a cakewalk...a fact, look up his words! Chaney stated the insurgents are in their last throes a few years ago...Now, the civil war is beyond winning in my opinion...Again, look at Vietnam and Cambodia for a historical perspective about civil wars America tried to influence...America didn't do so well, Scott...whether we leave or stay indefinitely, many Iraqis are going to die because of the civil war Bush created...None of what I have written are lies of the liberal media or facts distorted by my filters...the liberal media hasn't created the hatred between the Shiite and Sunni which fuels the civil war...and for the record Scott, I have written Keith many times about preaching and sounding a bit too much like O'Reilly in some of his special comments...and I read both right and left wing writings...I still cannot believe John Murtha was attacked by the right wing war machine because he simply said our troops should not be sent to fight before they are adequately trained and supplied. Bushworld wants to rush them over as part of the surge...who is not supporting the troops by not training and supplying them properly? The answer is Bush...As far as I have heard, the Democrats bill gives the troops more money than even Bush asked for...Did your filter filter that out Scott? Bush is against the bill simply because it has a time table for withdrawing our troops. The Democrats created a bill to train and supply the troops with a timetable for withdrawal. Bush is vetoing the bill with more funding that he asked for because of the timeline for withdrawing...The ruse in not about funding Scott...the ruse is about when we should leave!!! As always, the truth is out there...
I don't like to have to say this, but I think Countdown owes Regent University an apology for the comments Keith and Jonathan Turley made on last night's show. Regent University's law school has been accredited by numerous accreditation authorities, including the American Bar Association. Not all of us may agree with the principles taught by Regent, and it may not seem to us that the many Regent graduates in the Bush administration are even putting their Christian education to good use, and we may also question the presence of such a large number of them in the administration when their obviously stated goal for their graduates would seem to conflict with the separation of church and state. But the fact remains that Regent is not a "send in a self-addressed stamped envelope" "matchbook school," which is how Keith and Jonathan's discussion of Monica Goodling's alma mater made it sound. It is an accredited law school, and was one when Monica received her degree from it.
Tru M., Cleveland, Ohio - I do not know enough about Regent University; however, it is apparent that Monica Goodling did not learn "Christian values" such as telling the truth their either. Her thumbing her nose at the Senate, as a DOJ employee by taking the fifth is in no way, shape or form a "Christian" value. For if someone is guilty of some wrong doing, the "Christian" thing to do is tell the truth, not hide it and be honestly remorseful. While I know nothing of their law school, they seriously failed Monica Goodling in their Christian value teachings!! That "is" apparent to me, and that "does" matter to me.
George - New Jersey: Read your post about intolerance and agree with some of what you say. I am a believer in a God because I have been through some trying times and only a God could have changed the circumstances that got me out of these experiences and back on a danger free and positive path. Many of these experiences occurred in Vietnam. But I have trouble with organized religion as you seem also to indicate. For organized religion becomes tainted with man's interpretation of what is right and wrong. And as a result religion has been behind much of the intolerance man has expressed towards others since the beginning of time here on earth. Look at Iraq. So much of the killing is a result of one religious sect's intolerance of the other. But such intolerance in our history is not proported or owned soley by middle eastern religions but has also has been exercised by Protestants, Catholics and other religions throughout the eastern and western hemispheres. When God alone is the center of religion then it is good and rewarding. When man places himself at the center of religion which is often the case with organized religion then man loses his way and is not so tolerant of others.
Scott-NV: I have been reading post and see you are back at it again. I'll say one thing for you. You certainly are a persistent little devil and make things interesting in here. Just kidding on the devil part.
Pam, I agree with you that it does not appear that Monica Goodling learned "Christian values" such as telling the truth from Regent University. In that sense, the school indeed failed her. One gets the impression that somewhere along the line, she learned that "the end justifies the means." This does not, however, make the law school itself of questionable accreditation. I mean, I have a degree from a very good university, and I know of someone else who has a degree from the same school, who probably took a lot of the same courses I did, who is now busily putting his degree to work as the creator and publisher of several blogs devoted to the most trashy, sliming, unattributed gossip imaginable. If anything is proof positive that an education can be used for evil as well as good, it is that.
Scott Henderson, so we keep hearing that none of us liberial folks know where to get our information. Where do you suggest we get it? Rush, O'Reilly? These people have indentifiable mental disorders. Why don't you pull your head out of the sand. I would suggest you check out this site: http://www.niemanwatchdog.org/ Then come back and critique that, if you can. Facts, Scott, not idealogical garbage.
Pam you are more than welcome. This is to you and any others of our mindset. Check out Buzzflash for more news than Keith can do in a single night. It is a real treasure. The address is www.Buzzflash.com. BTW they sell Olbermann for President buttons for a $5.00 donation. Tru in Cleveland. It is an unfortunate fact of life. (especially these days) That many people who call themselves "born again christians"; use their religiosity as an excuse for all manners of despicable behavior. The underlying theology being since they have accepted Christ as their personal savior they are guaranteed a place in heaven. Goods works are not necessary (in their view) to achieve salvation. I think it was Mark Twain (maybe H.L. Mencken) who said "The only problem with Baptists is that they don't hold them under water long enough!"
CA in Tuscaloosa. Yes Scott certainly is persistent. I'm begiining to think he actually likes all the attention. Maybe if we ignore him he'll go away back to right wing world where he belongs. BTW Scott MSNBC is NOT far left. Olbermann is the ONLY liberal voice that MSNBC has. Chris Matthews? at best a centrist . Tucker Carlson? Another waterboy for the right. Joe Scarborough? He was a member of the "Republican Revolution" of '94 that Newt Gingrich engineered. I guess that makes him a true leftie in your book. In short Scott there is no such thing as "The Liberal Media"!! The MSM serves at the behest of their corporate masters. It has been that way since at least 1980.

Scott - As Jon Stewart does on his Daily Show when very very irritated with someone, I'll do the same, "Scott, meet me at camera three"!! You state, "Some people ignore those biases and even ensure they only get information from biased sources. In that way their picture of the world is distorted." Your picture should be next to the word "distorted" in a dictionary, which I believe you said above you do own one. Next to your picture, should be Fox News' Sean Hannity, John Gibson and Bill O'Reilly. We can then all have a nice look at the "happy foursome", which includes you, bringing us "the world according to distortion". The only thing that brings a smile to my face when reading your posts is that you live in Nevada, home of Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid!! Thank God he, and his fellow democrats in the Senate and House are doing everything possible to stop "President Bombsalot"!!
