Let me see if I understand this correctly.Borat gets nominated for awards and Imus gets axed. Jesse and Al continue to live off public money and the donations of others and Imus who has never done so, raises money for many causes. Jesse and Al "paint" themselves as arbiters of morality and ethics - they are anything but assume that role for themselves. Imus, despite his arrogance, does not pretend to be sanctimonious or even objective. Imus was wrong and admits it, even his multiple wrongs, but Jesse and Al accept no responsibility for their "sins" including interference in the Duke rape case. Jesse and Al continue to claim that they speak for their race, Imus speaks for no one else except himself. CBS, MSNBC and others have bowed to the bullying of Jesse and Al - far worse than the ill advised, sophomoric and distasteful bullying of Imus - who claims to be nothing more than sophomoricand distasteful. In or out of context Imus screwed up. So have Jesse and Al - why are they not held accountable. Who are they that they can march into CBS to have their needs met by spineless execs? Now they will continue to incite without insight; they have been given permission to do so by the collective fearfulness of former I faves. These two men will continue to do the things in their own ways for which Imus was fired. They now have a license to do so. I am saddened by the whole mess, incluing Imus' unfortunate remarks. The continuing disucssion needs to be about more than Don Imus and about everyone's role in a society that rewards Borat, praises Jesse and Al, forgives politicians, pays rap artists to spew sexist garbage, allows an immoral war to continue wasting Amwerican lives? Who is the worst sinner among us. Certainly not Imus. Justice? Ethics? Fairness? Piety? Where?

I'm glad the team is back, all my pithy-ness was lost to the ethernet, read only by nsa spooks. After all, we all know that in order to "denounce all whites" (set to music) a copyright has been extended to use of slurs, and one must get a written letter of approval, or at least pay for such use to gangsta rappers nationwide. Gee, I wonder if I can copyright terms like honky, whitey, and others. Maybe I can get Pat Buchanan to be my own personal "sharpton-shooter" and go after anyone who uses derogatory slurs against whites! Oh never mind, after watching the ruling class of abundantly wealthy white men ruin this country over the last several decades, maybe I agree with them.

rodney, lake charles, la - Both Reverends Jackson and Sharpton are "ambulance chasers" and your analogy could not be more fitting. I'm still anxiously awaiting both of their apologies to the three Duke Lacrosse players, which Sharpton publicly called "rapists" amongst other things, while Jackson publicly offered her a full scholarship immediately after the attack. When it became very apparent these men were innocent, and very early on, Sharpton continued with his irresponsible comments for the past year plus. Neither of these "men of God" has yet to apologize, and I believe their apologies will come when hell freezes over. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. must be looking down with horror and tears as they continue to disgrace his legacy as civil rights leaders!!

Don, the beltway boys ceased being boys about 30 years ago, and in yesterday's drive from vinton,la to talisheek, la, and back to lake charles, I saw more dead animals than I could count. NONE of which stunk as much as the assinine assumptions on the part of these geezers. Hell, I'm 54, look 44, feel 34, act 24 and get treated like I'm 14, yet in no moment whould I ever refer to myself as a boy. And besides, I'm not out here hunting witches, I'm hunting liars, democraps, repugnicans, party affiliation matters not. Liars are liars and should be denounced as such. And unlike George of the "Stay Put" blog here on countdown, I don't need a real gun to do this hunting. Just a discernable ear, keen eyesight, respectful hindsight, a dash of irreverence and a rapier wit. And all in the name of "cleaning up the corrupt cluture in Washington" to paraphrase yet another full of sh*t joker named george.
