And He's Not The Only One

Posted: Sunday, April 29, 2007 10:58 PM by Countdown

It seems so long ago that Deputy Secretary of State Randall L. Tobias resigned after getting himself caught up in a Washington sex scandal, but that's why they always do these things on a Friday night.

Now, ABC News is teasing that there may be more to come, claiming the customer phone number list of the "D.C. Madam"
includes the names of some "very prominent people," as well as a number of women with "important and serious jobs" who had worked as escorts for the firm.

One's imagination could run wild with either part of that statement, but it appears we'll have to wait until next Friday night to find out the who's and the what's and the with who's and the what with's. ABC plans a sweeps-week report on the D.C. Madam and her clients on May 4th.

Any sudden resignations between now and then will be tougher to bury, but there is a big debate this week to hide behind, so keep your eyes open for "so and so is resigning for personal reasons" right about 8:05pm ET on Thursday night.

Oh, and there's this too:
Sibley [the attorney for the so-called 'D.C. Madam'] also filed notice that he intends to depose political consultant Dick Morris in a separate civil proceeding. Morris would not comment.
Should be an interesting week.

Hmmmm, this ought to be interesting: Who got their rocks off in and around the Beltway. Big yawn. Gee, now we can see who it was and accuse each party, or a person who may or may not belong to a particular party, etc.. Oh well! What to do? Wait, this might be just the 'wag the dog' for every person in the Beltway these days. Let's forget about that pesky Attorney General nonsense. Let's forget that Harry Reid said what so many were thinking. Let's forget about Tenet making some bucks via his 'book' at the sake of over 3,300 American lives and countless Iraqi's. Ah, the rise and fall of the egotistical 'public servants.' Nope, can't wait for this. Never mind-Ghost Whisperer is on Friday's, and is much more interesting than this crap.
the news reports said that Tobias was only using the service for 'massages'; but one news report said 'messages'. BWAAAHHHHHHA. two-faced lying hypocrites. not that this is new information...
I agree with Jamie!! Other than finding great humor that once again, the Republican Party’s nauseating and hypocritical slogan that they are the “party of ethics, morals and values” has once again been blasted by yet another GOP sleaze ball, there are certainly more important crises facing this country. When will Alberto Gonzalez resign? When will Monica Goodling testify now that she has been granted immunity? When will subpoenas be served on Karl Rove and Harriet Miers? When will Congress follow Dennis Kucinich’s lead and begin impeachment proceedings against Dick Cheney? Now that one more criminal, George Tenet, via his disgusting “lie by omission” has been exposed, when will Congress haul his butt in for sworn testimony? When will Democratic Senator Richard Durbin, in addition to the other Senators who served on the Senate Intelligence Committee, who, along with Senator Durbin, and through Senator Durbin’s admission, knew full well the American people were being lied to prior to the Iraq “Invasion”, but chose to remain silent based on an asinine excuse that he was “sworn to secrecy” be held accountable? Senator Durbin, do you know the definition of treason? More than 3,300 American lives cut short; hundreds of thousands Iraqis killed; tens of thousands of Iraqi children killed, maimed, left broken, homeless and orphaned are the results of this asinine decision/excuse to remain silent. This story might be “juicy and sordid” to some; however, I want the aforementioned addressed and covered relentlessly in the news. Whoever chose to hire prostitutes can be exposed, embarrassed, resign, etc. I really don’t give a damn about this story right now!! Let’s keep focused on the true crises’ facing America, Iraq and the world!!
Remember Ginrich's racy novel, complete with 'Sex Kittens'? Those racy little Beltway nymphets, clammoring for chubby-sexy Neocon-Love Gods? Turns out they really existed! And the nymphets, too! Also turns out, the Sixties-thing, so reviled by the GOP, was getting a secret revision. The Playboy Philosophy, the Drugs, the Revolutionary Zeal, all were co-opted by the Demonizers, especially the Sex and Drugs part. Of course the Drugs were Prescibed by a Shopping list of 'Specialists' and the Sex was without Long Hair and Bellbottoms. The Revolutionary Zeal was credited to the Reagans, the Counter-Counter-Culture remix of Norman Rockwells' Mommy-Daddy Perfectionism. No one could have foretold the latent Benedict Arnoldian streak that ran along with the "Good Clean Fun" of the GOP's answer to the "Filthy Hippie Degeneratism", but then no one could've foreseen the elevation to Sainthood of our current 'Sacred Leader'. As time goes on, we will find out more about this 'Brave Newt World' that was prophesied. Full of "Sex Chicken Warriors" and "Blind Venetian Machiavellis", the Dumb leading the Lame, the Rich eating the Poor, the Shining Larder on the Hill, trickling down the excess tallow to the slowly emaciating need-to-be's. Ah, the demands of leadership. The Homeric Needs of the NeoGods. One can barely grasp, what Newt hath Wraught.
Both Senator Durbin and former Senator Graham (FL) have spoken about the intellagence they saw many times. This is not a new story. They didn't give details but even before the war they were saying the intellegance did not convince them Iraq was a threat and that there was a disconnect between what they were seeing and what the White House was peddling. There seems to be this idea that there was no anti-war movement before the war. There was a huge anti-war movement. Not everyone was for this war there were, generals, congressmen, senators and intellegance people all saying there was no connection to 9/11 and Iraq did not pose a feasible threat to us. I'd also like to point out that the Iraq war resolution that was voted on required tha president go back to the United Nations for a second vote something the bush admin. ignored completely. I expect my senator to do the right thing I don't expect him to look into the future and see a total collapse of oversight. The American public by and large wanted revenge and didn't care who paid as long as we could drop bombs and watch on the t.v.. We are all to blame for this war. The vast majority of the country believed what the P.R. people in charge were selling us and effectivly drown out the voices of dissent.
If sex is what it takes to get someone out of the administration, would someone please hire someone (I wouldn't want anyone to have to do it for free) to give gonzo, cheney and bush a b.j. so we can impeach them. I'll chip in.
jen,il - It is YOU who needs to go back and study what led up to the war!! Who led the anti-war protests? Who shut them down with lies? Who impugned the integrity of the United Nations? Your comments are nothing short of irresponsible and a slap on the face of every person who opposed this war. I didn't want revenge against Iraq!! What a disgraceful comment!! You should be ashamed, after you do a few MONTHS of studying!!
During the "DC Madam" segment, Dana Milbank remarked that one of the prosecutors was in a wheelchair that had the word "Quickie" in big letters on the back, and that it was somehow funny or ironic? I've been a paraplegic for 2 1/2 years and I own a Quickie wheelchair. "Quickie" is a brand of chair, not just a word put on the back of a chair for a White House reporter to poke fun at. I enjoy the show very much, but I didn't particularly like the impression that that joke may have left other veiwers with.
I can totally see some democrats sweating right now..... But I will like to see how the liberal media will spin it for them...........
