Clinton Cuts to Black

Posted: Tuesday, June 19, 2007 1:45 PM by Countdown

The Hillary Clinton campaign has settled on an official song, and accompanied the announcement with Hillary's own version of the final scene of the Sopranos -- complete with a cameo appearance by Johnny Sack.

Love it or hate it, the VIDEO is a must-see.

Whatever our political views...one thing we really need is a president with a sense of humor, irony and the ability to laugh at him/herself.

A leader who doesn't take him/herself too seriously can keep us out of situations caused by hubris and inflexibility (i.e. Iraq)
Gotta give the woman her props.  She knows her way around the internets!
I didn't think they served baskets of carrot sticks in a diner.
Well, all I know is it isn't "Afternoon Delight".
HOW HILARIOUS!! It's been DAYS since I've laughed like that. The look on President Clinton's face when the basket of carrots come to the table is priceless! Nice to see some humor as opposed to creepy "what's his name" that just stared into the camera and tossed a rock into a pool. EEK!

At the risk of a big 'ol shoutdown from you all, I like Hillary Clinton; I really do, but I don't think she's "electable." There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of middle ground when it comes to her (or her husband). People either love her or hate her. And, at the risk of another shoutdown, I think there's still a significant section of the population who, deep down in their heart of hearts, are not ready for a woman to become president. She's got a whole lot of baggage to overcome, and I think the Republicans will really pull out the big guns dirty-politics-wise if she ends up being the Democratic nominee.

Now, let me remind you once again that I LIKE HILLARY! And, I voted for her husband twice (the first time he was elected was the first election where I was old enough to vote for president - an absentee ballot in my college dorm room). So, someone convince me that she has a chance in Hades to become president.
Resignation alert:  BushCos budget director Bob Portman is resigning (maybe the Friday resignation list is full already with other rats jumping ship).
I'll say one thing for Hillary. Even though I can't say I support her she sure knows how to use a good thing to promote her candidacy. And I'm not talking about Johnny Sack. I'm talking about that guy that came into the restuarant with the blue shirt on and sat down across from her. Nothing but class and charisma all the way. Unlike Gore in his last bid for President, Hillary needs to keep putting Slick out there in front of her. It just may assure her the nomination and election.
Much better than the other guy (Grover?) who just looked into the screen for 2 minutes.  I'm sure those are the first carrots Bill has eaten since his triple by-pass surgery.
I just hope another Dem comes along that can truly represent the people of this country with honesty and integrity. If you think Bush is cunning, you have not seen anything yet if Hillary enters the White House. Just remember she supported this conflict in Iraq until she discovered it was a politically liability  (especially on the left and to ensure the Dem nomination). She states now to pull out the troops and let Iraq settle its own problems by way of diplomacy. Where was this grand scheme and recommendation when Bush asked members of Congress  to give him the authority to invade Iraq. She will play whatever side she needs to play and she will play it with great political skill. But not with half the skill that her husband Slick possesses.
I haven't given much thought to supporting her campaign, but THIS I like!
Think about how much money Rove and the Republican contributers have put in Hillary's campaign because they know she is beatable. They want her on the ballet.

Been saying that from the beginning.Sorry I don't think all that money dropped in like manna from cause she's a cute little dumpling.Nope the old RNC is at again with more "dirty" tricks. It's always at it.On paper we could have won every election for the people but through the media and FEAR people have been lured like carp into that party.

I mean it to defeat them you have to think like the guys who make Raid and said the, "old checks in the mail,"yeah I'm wearing a condom",I'll pay you on pay day, you know " yea that's the ticket.LIARS.To defeat "Rove and the RNC" you have to think like a cockroach and an immoral liar. That's what your up against.

It's not Hillary's and Bills fault completely. They believed their own shit like all of us do including me.The Great Rant Hero who was known to have booed a Franciscan Priest who was lying.
There is not a human being on the planet without an ego.duh.

She's believing the shit she is being told like we all are by the numbers.Come election time, about 5:30 or so too close to call, what the hell just happened. We need an electable candidate.Obama is all cute and cuddly like a teddy bear. They'd like him too because he is not electable.

I want a visionary with some experience.I will have the courage to say I like John Edwards,I really think his wife is a great speaker and is very honest and wonder what kind of candidate she would be.And where the hell is all that party support from Kerry for him.

We are being bought out too with Corporate Money managed represented by both Republican and some token Democratic politicians. It's all one big fix. It's a rigged game played to make we have a free country.Do you feel free? You ask em to stop the war? How'd that work? They are breaking the law laughing arrogantly and calling us names to our faces.Oil prices are run away so now get this, the last refinery you all saw was built in 1976 and they don't want to build a new one to because of alt crop energy so they can keep the prices artificially propped up. My deal is be for the corn ethanol where they hell were these dogdamn refineries.1976.What that's telling me is we have been being stuck up for a long time.Cut loose the reserves you crooks.the Constipated Congress Could Force that One,but lad dee dah we will go on break on the 4th of July sing accolades to freedom and those who have died while more are dieing because our lazy asses were bought compromised with the "Devil Incarnate and his Friends".
It's broke, checks and balances broke,we are owned and don't even know we are?I can hear scooter scott out there in nv desert, huh what's he talkin about Larry. When you me and John going to get together, the 4th for a Barbecue .Scott keep out near a Nevada Nuke test site dude.Thanks.

Really the Republican money is the interest of big oil big business in all it's other twisty little business guises, insurance, free trade, auto industry, ect. You know the shit the big lobbyist pay these guys access money at campaign parties for."K" Street Washington DC the Real Price is Right,Mitch McConnell come on down,Joe Leibermann, come on down,Rudy Guliani come on down,Nancy Peleosi, come on down,John Boehner, come on down.Do you think your going to talk about issues to the folks we talk about on here."We will be glad to pass your comment along to the Senator,or Congressman,or leave a message on the comment answering machine all of which you bought and paid for.Maybe I don't want money being wasted on all that meaningless crap to appear they care about my voice.

The armed forces is their private police department.Look at what they are doing about the WAR.They don't give a shit about life they are twirling their fingers letting men and women get killed, saying things like let's give Dubya another chance when he should have never had the first one.Boy if that does not sound like a bunch of sick enablers enabling themselves.Damn now I know how it must have been around his ranch.Mommy, daddy, I won't drink again, just like the twins.

They jerk our heads with our own egos and fear then charge us to protect us.We are all Dr. Seuss's "Sneetches" being played like a fiddle by the Republican Corporate Power Brokers to and even the lobby's of foreign govt free trade interest.
No we don't want to tax oil imports,or Japanese imports,or the pharmaceutical companies ECT because we have been lied to that it would be passed on to us.Don't have to but some how we think it would and it would be bad.No free trade.Right!Try it you'll like it.They own DOJ Gonzo, they owned the Congress,it's still broke, you know they own the Executive office(had to fudge a little to get it but what the hell and those voting machines and long lines that were saved by them are a good deal.Yeah there good for us just like this war on their terror.

Those Shits egos are boundless, they own the press, let's hope they don't own MNBC,K.O.Sorry about a while back I thought you you were a Sox fan.

The lobbyist for Corps that are making corpses have the Constipated Congress by the kachinga's.Look at the record. See that money import taxes and corporate taxes might help repay the Republican asses deficits.

Nope the finger will go the other way Hillary.
Yes us Sneetches have been duped in the land of the Free Sneetches and the home of the brave.

I would be all cute and cuddly but are freedom's have been bought under the guise of a war on terror, protected by an illegal AG,acted upon by a Constipated Congress, led by a criminal executive branch.

And by far worst of all people are being killed wounded maimed and dieing daily as these theses shitless wonders do nothing on the side lines except wait to see how polls look and all the other meaningless stupid shit we pay for while our loved ones and the loved ones of others die around the world and we blindly accept it.
What a disgrace this speaks for us.

Krista (2:55)/ No shoutout. You've said nothing that hasn't been posted here repeatedly. It is a shame because I think she would make an able administrator but I just don't see this country electing her. I don't think it has anything to do with gender.

In addition to the polarization factor, people just don't want to go through the "Clinton Crap" again.

That being said, I'm voting for whatever non-republican has a chance to win. I'm not messing around with 3rd parties. If she is the D candidate it will be by a very very very tiny margin if she does win. Knowing the way that Republicans "count" votes, every vote will indeed count. Also, if this gets thrown to the supreme court again--well, just consider the make up of that court now.
I'm with you,CA.  Here's another point: I don't think that it will serve the country's interests to have 12 years of Bush "rule" with 12 or 16 years of Clinton "rule."  How about someone that gives us a chance to get out of that dynamic?   That said, anybody but a Republican, for now.  There's too much clean-up needed.
Can we revisit this, say, NEXT YEAR?  Crikey!!

That being said, all the 'Clinton crap' has been gone through.  If there was anything else to find, we'd have heard about by now.  BTW, I liked and still do like, President Clinton.

PEACE!
Hey.  I don't know if anybody remembers that I posted a while back about living in foreign countries during two elections.  WOOOOOO-HOOOOOO!

Yeah, I don't have to be here for next year's elections.  Back to absentee ballots for me, AND, no annoying phone calls, mass mailings, etc..  Fortunately for us, our military postal system doesn't forward bulk mail!:)

Trust me, if you've never had the opportunity to NOT be around during an election year, you are truly missing out.  It has got to be one of the most joyful election experiences one could have.

PEACE!
Thanks, Independent, TX for the kudos. I'm fairly new at this blog, so I apologize for repeating what others have expressed. I laughed like crazy again when Keith showed her YouTube again on tonight's COUNTDOWN!
What CENTURY do we live in where we can't ELECT a woman as President? No, she doesn't have a PENIS but that doesn't mean she won't be a good President. She's got MY vote and I hope all you women out there vote for one of your OWN!!

Let me just say one this....she can certainly do better than the MAN that smirks every time he says something SERIOUS (condecending isn't it?) that's in the white house now!

I thought that this little video was "HILARI"OUSLY funny. PUN INTENDED.
The Pittsburgh Pirates video was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Sorry Hillary, but the Parrot did a much better parody than you did.  Where's the link? I want to see the Pirates video again!
I think the video is rather funny, even with classic bad acting from Bill and Hill. As for Hill, I don't know whether or not she can get elected either, or if I want her to be, but I certainly hope it has to do with factors other than her femaleness. "This country isn't ready for a woman president"? Why the hell not? What century is this, anyway?
Jamie - I, too, liked and still like President Clinton. C A, I believe you nailed Bill Clinton's political prominence, as I believe he is THE most skilled public speaker of any politician I can “remember” in my lifetime.  In the news today, "Former President Clinton will campaign with his wife, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, in Iowa next month, seeking to boost her bid for the Democratic nomination in a state where she trails in the polls. The former president is enormously popular with Democratic activists in Iowa. Last fall, when it was announced that Bill Clinton would be the keynote speaker at the Iowa Democratic Party's biggest annual fundraiser, the event sold out in hours." Senator Clinton has THE most powerful weapon on her side, and no other candidate has anything remotely close or dynamically forceful!! If President Clinton remains healthy, as I believe his illness was a significant blow to Kerry in 2004, Senator Clinton will be the democratic nominee.

B A - As usual, you have truly outdone yourself!! The first two are my favorites and the last one I just had to reply to.

"I mean it to defeat them you have to think like the guys who make Raid and said the, old checks in the mail."

Last summer my uncle, and my late father's only sibling, passed away after a very quick diagnosis of cancer.  He despised George W. Bush and this Administration and opposed the Iraq Invasion from day one.  I made weekly weekend drives up to San Francisco to visit him at the hospital over the course of two months.  On my last visit, he was still talking politics and livid about the war. As weak as he was, he told me, "Those idiots attacked Iraq and didn't find as much as a can of RAID"!! Your comment brought back a bitter-sweet moment, as it was funny and my uncle was in great form. It was also the last time I saw my uncle alive.  Thanks for the memories B A, as I want to remember my uncle for the great man he was, who revealed anger and humor until his final moments on earth.

"The Constipated Congress"

Speaks for itself!! I'll be up all night again laughing!!

"And where the hell is all that party support from Kerry for him".

For John Edwards' sake, as far away as possible I hope!!  I always believed Kerry would be a good president, but he has truly been his own worst enemy!! I believe the LAST person John Edwards needs is John Kerry campaigning for him. He has repeatedly demonstrated a very bad habit in making untimely comments, in addition to turning an attempted joke into a political embarrassment!!

Thanks again B A!!

CAROL - While I certainly agree that her gender should not prevent her from being elected president, I strongly disagree with your statement, "all you women out there vote for one of your OWN!!" This cannot be the decision maker in the most important election in this country, that of electing our next president. What if "she" were a female version of George W. Bush? She most certainly is not; however, I cannot vote for her on the sole basis she is a woman.  While I certainly believe Senator Clinton is most competent and would do a good job, her gender should not apply at all, in my opinion, as a means to attract votes for her. PEACE!!
OK.  We now know the winner. It's Celine Dion and some song I've never heard but know will become the next "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", ringing in my ears from dawn till dusk till dawn, etc., from Legions of Democratic Boomboxes (Legionne Democracie Boxe d'Boom). The GOP is squawking about outsourcing to Canada but mainly they want a dig at France 'cause she's a Quebecois and to a Republican, anything that they can't pronounce "...'cause it's Frenchy", they squawk at.  "English Only!" and all that.  (She should have picked Bachman-Turner Overdrive's 'Takin' Care of Business') I guess the next border fence will go from Labrador to British Columbia, huh?
Senator Clinton's ad is truly genius!! It is already being praised as such by some of the best in the advertising business, in addition to receiving hundreds of thousands of hits on YouTube already.

I don't know whose idea it was; however, their true calling is in advertising and marketing!! Senator Clinton has one advertising genius and very talented person working on her campaign.

Trust me, this ad will put her over the top, and keep her there, for a long time!!
Please!  Stop this mantra of "Hillary is unelectable"! No, she is eminently electable. However, Dems and liberals, and just regular people like you and I, have got to quit being so afraid of her polarizing image.  Yes, she has baggage, yes she is polarizing, and yes, her husband was the best president of my lifetime....So what?  It's better just to go full steam and push with all your might, than to wring your hands and worry she hasn't got the street cred to win.  Puhleeeze....have you seen the GOP line-up?  Hillary has more street cred in her little finger than all those guys combined.  Here's the deal...look at the Dem line-up.  What do you see?  Diversity, new ideals, vitality.  Now look at the GOP line-up.  Just more old, rich white guys.  Nuff said.
Ditto Malley said!:)
Malley: Hillary has more cunning and manipulative personality style and much more intelligence than GW Bush. If you want to take a chance of having a smart GW Bush in the White House vote for Hillary. Although GW is dangerous with his sociopathic tendancies, I would hate to see someone as cunning and manipulative but smarter taking his place.
Double ditto Malley!! ;)
B.A., you out did yourself.  Love the Dr. Seuss reference.
As much as I hate to agree with Joe Scarborough, and I do hate to agree with Joe; she had her theme playing through the video, "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey, uh helloooo.  My vote will hinge on answers to real issues and will not be based on a campaign song, but cripes, Celine Dion?!?
