Blogging the Countdown
Keith on assignment in LA...he'll be back tomorrow, Alison pinch hits tonight.
Original Al Qaeda Returns: Nearly six years after the 9-11 attacks...After four long years of war in Iraq...And after the many billions of dollars that have been spent on the war on terror...A new intelligence report, the work of all sixteen U-S spy agencies, warns that Al Qaeda is gaining strength... and is still determined to attack the U-S. Our fifth story on the Countdown: How is that even possible?
All Night Long: The filibuster fight gets serious on Capitol Hill. Republicans block a Straight vote on legislation to end the war. Democrats say... ok.. you want to debate... we'll give you your debate... all night long, in the words of Lionel Richie. David Shuster is live on capitol hill.
ODDBALL: A large Homer Simpson...a doggie drinks...and a doggie goes boom.
Going Ghetto: An African-american female lawyer from Washington D.C. -- and now, a cable entertainment network --wants to hold up a mirror to certain aspects of the black and urban community. But since the reflection in that mirror is primarily 'big booty' and 'shaking booty' and 'black girl-fights'... it's causing a wee bit of controversy. In our third story on the Countdown, we introduce you to "Hot Ghetto Mess". It's a TV Show soon to be on Black Entertainment Television that is losing advertisers even though it hasn't yet broadcast even one of its six episodes. The program is based on the website of the same name.
What Not to Wear: When Lousiana Senator David Vitter appeared before the media last night... his first public appearance since we learned his phone number showed up on the D-C madam's records... he brought a woman with him... a woman wearing a form-fitting, leopard-skin dress... with a plunging, v-neckline. In our number-two story tonight, it turned out... that woman... was his wife.
Get To Know ME!!: Let's face it. Sometimes comedians are funny because underneath it all they are just completely miserable wretches. Which brings us to our number one story on the Countdown, When Comics Attack. And the scandalous tale of how Jon Lovitz allegedly beat up Andy Dick.
