Thank you Keith for giving us an opportunity to hear the other side, not just the side the overwhelmingly right wing talk show hosts wants us to hear. It's dangerous. And worse, it's ignorant. Thanks again.
Alright senator Leahy, I am sure senator Specter will also appear so we can get the thoughts of what may be a descending opinion. The more information we can get about this case the better informed Keith's audience will be. I will have my beer and pizza ready for Countdown.
Oi, Bud...dissenting.  Unless Mr. Spector's opinion will be going down something.

I don't know what, but foremost in my mind is a picture of an anthropomorphised sheaf of paper talking about Gonzo whilst walking down a ladder.

Pretty funny picture, Bud.

Thanks.
Yeah Senator Leahy!
Can't hardly wait until Countdown tonight!
Right on Keith...I hope he tells it like it is on your show; as he's from what I've seen, he's one heck of a fighter....

Looking forward to another great hour tonight Keith....
My favorite thing today was Rep. Sensenbrenner saying that democrats shouldn't try to hold Miers and Bolton in contempt because if the democrats lose, then Bush would have a blank check.  What on earth does Bush have now if it's not a blank check?  Does he think we're freaking stupid?  No, wait, maybe we are.
I have been a "Keith junkie" for a year now because your programming is not only informative and exceptional, but backed up with the facts!  It is also very entertaining.  I'll be ready to watch you and Senator Leahy tonight, two men of whom I have the most pride and respect in their opinions.
After months of Senate hearings, press conferences, more Bush lies, etc., the following sums it up most accurately.

I would like to hear Senator Leahy's response to the following, as I know he's one justifiably angry man right now.

"Gonzales' lack of command of the details is something to behold. He doesn't know the total number of U.S. attorneys who were fired.

He doesn't recall his participation in reversing former U.S. Attorney Paul Charlton's decision about whether to seek the death penalty in a case where all the evidence was circumstantial.

He doesn't know why DoJ's new guide to prosecuting voter fraud removed or watered down key directives against pursuing cases in a way that could interfere with the outcome of an election.

He doesn't know why the Justice Department's guidelines restricting communications with the White House now suddenly include a blanket exception for contact between the attorney general and the vice president and his counsel.

And, of course, he doesn't know who put the names of the U.S. attorneys on the list he approved for firing.

Gonzales' biggest problem today isn't the senators, who can shake their heads and raise their voice at his nonanswers, but can't change them or get rid of him without the drama of impeachment.

His problem is Deputy Attorney General James Comey, who has twice shown up before Congress to achieve an impossible feat: make his former boss look worse than Gonzales' own self-immolating performances.

First, Comey vouched for the U.S. attorneys Gonzales fired, making it clear that he couldn't imagine any good reason why they lost their jobs.

Next, he told the creepy story of Gonzales' race to the hospital bed of John Ashcroft, when Gonzales was White House counsel, Ashcroft was critically ill, and Gonzales was determined to get him to sign off anyway on a surveillance program that Comey and the director of the FBI had decided was illegal."

I believe this could take more than your entire hour's show Keith.  Could we possibly have the good Senator back several hundred times, as just maybe, Gonzo will finally understand  that no one, including his own people, want him.  Also, no one, including his own people, believes him.

Thank you....

To Bid Wizer:  Descending opinion?  It's dissenting opinion.  No wonder people think everyone in Texas is a hick.  Did you go to the same school as George Bush?  Maybe you should lay off the beer and take a remedial English course.  Be more careful about using words you don't understand.  You may be stepping all over George Bush's executive privilege allowing him the poorest use of the English language in America.
Can't quite figure if the Republican Jihad lead by the likes of Dubya,Rove,Dick, and Mitch McConnell seems similar to some kind of Islamic Jihad of al-Quida to see how many American troops they can kill and wound.
There tactic the oldest in the world Lie and Point your finger at the other guy.Isn't that what Hitler did to the Jews?
Got admit they are doing a nice job at kicking America's ass and walking all over its laws and Constitution.Seems like the other guys are just standing by biding time with things like not enough votes, can't impeach, wait till September.
Sure hope your relative isn't one of those that is killed or wounded while we wait for the Songs of September, that have already been written as the lies of Patreaus and Dubya.Yes while the Executive Republican Branch Jihad goes on how many more Americans and Iraqis will die for Dick and Dubyas Insanity. Sounds close to what ever they are calling the bad guys this week over there are doing.Al-Quida?
Not one more dime for the WAR this Time in September when you got nothing to Veto it don't mean shit.Let him veto no funds and he still ends up with zero for his Executive Branch Republican Jihad War.The Dick,Rove,Condi,Tenet,Gonzo, and these asses have done more harm to the country then their finger pointing out there al-Quida.The have Killed,Maimed,Wounded,Stole,Lied,460billon deficit, pisesed all over the Constitution and our Rights then had their Republican Cronies block every effort to hold them accountable for anything.
Executive Branch and his Republican Cronies Jihad on America=
They are kicking are ass big time and Rove and al-Quida their best ally are laughing their asses off. Roves agenda of course is to try and scrape the blame for this shit off his pastie faced ass.
Yes think about how much they talk about al-Quida.
We don't need to be fighting a war there. The war is here in our back yard and most folks can't even see it.It's at The Top.They are laughing their way to the bank while people die.Your kids, fathers, mothers, daughters, and relatives and those of Iraqis. And now the new finger point its Iran's fault,Maliki just got 300 planes form them .Seems like Iran is one of his pals. It's Syria's fault,it's Dufars' fault,it's Britain's fault, its France's fault old South Park fans know blame Canada. What an illusion the master magicians.
Those Men and Women and Children died because you lied
Cheney,Powell,Dubya,Condi,Rumsfeld,Woflewitz... and all of you maggots who sent them to their deaths.
You are Executive Branch Order Jihad that is killing this Country along with your fellow Republican Jihad Cronies and Jihad maggots.
Break the rules and laugh and spit in our faces but sooner or later the Karma Momma Makes Her Way into the Shit and makes things Spiritually right. So I'll keep Praying and Keith you keep beating the drums of truth with the rest of these folks who know what being an American is and what the values of this country stand for.I watched Richard Wolffe the other night on here. I don't think we can recover from the damage done to our relations with the Arabic factions there in our life times.
Hey you Ron Paul supporters:

You know I've been singing the praises of Dr. Paul because, although I may differ with him on some issues, he votes his mouth. One of the things he is known for is his absolute devotion to the constitution and the rule of law.

I better be seeing his name down as a "yea" when the vote to issue a contempt charge against Harriet Miers is held in the HoR.

If he is not there or if he votes "nay", he's gonna have some 'splainin to do.
I will have my beer and pizza ready for Countdown.
Bud Wizer Bushgardens Tx (Sent Wednesday, July 25, 2007 5:12 PM)

This disgusted is with "Disgusted, TX" – First of all, watch the show sober, perhaps that’s your problem.  Second, Bush has done enough damage; and I for one am glad to see people here like Independent and "Disgusted-TX" say what I am SURE thousands upon thousands of other Texans feel.

Right on Disgusted-TX
"I don't know what, but foremost in my mind is a picture of an anthropomorphised sheaf of paper talking about Gonzo whilst walking down a ladder.

Pretty funny picture, Bud."

And much cleaner than the one I came up with. But that's just me.

And Bud, let me ask you between mouthfuls: What makes you think Specter's opinion would be _dissenting_? Were you not watching the hearing yesterday? Oh, I'm sorry! You probably watched the Shammity & B*ttboy version that focused on Leahy and Hillary. Specter _filleted_ Abu G! There was a moment or three where I was convinced he was going to jump over the table and punch that arrogant little putz' lights out! This administration has taken the lyric from Jefferson Starship's "Stairway to Cleveland" ("**** you! We do what we want!") to an extreme that hasn't been seen since King Charles told Oliver Cromwell to zark off! I know you have to go out every so often for more beer and pizza, as well as (I _hope_) to dump the empty boxes and redeem all those empty cans, but _try_ and pay attention. You might learn a thing or two.

Or not.
Keith, please, please, please.. ask him about the Impeachment Issue and let him know about us out here that want it!!! Or if he can get Bush on Obstruction of Justice...
Thank You,
Anyone see this article...makes me worry about the Dems...an excerpt and link below...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070725/ap_on_el_pr/snubbing_moderates

Bill Clinton will be there. So will 300 officeholders from more than 45 states. But one thing will be missing when Democrats gather in Tennessee this weekend to discuss how to appeal to moderate, independent-minded voters in 2008: the Democratic presidential field.

Not a single one of the eight presidential candidates plans to attend the Democratic Leadership Council's summer meeting, a snub that says less about the centrist DLC than it does about a nomination process that rewards candidates who pander to their parties' hardened cores while ignoring everybody else.

"They have tunnel vision," DLC founder Al From said of his fellow Democrats.

I am especially worried since the two leading Dem candidates are a black man and a woman...Hillary polarizes people, Dems and Repubs alike. I have no problem with Hillary, but can you imagine the Rove attack ads against her...Hillary's nomination can unite the Repubs...believe me I hope I am wrong, dead wrong...and like it or not, we live in a racist, sexist, homophobic country...imagine the Rove attack ads aimed at Barrack Obama...all the Osama Obama..Usama Obama nonsense...more Fox Made Up News attacks about Obama and the madrassa he attended...again, a black candidate may unite the Repubs...I know I am cynical, but I am also a realist...and I cannot take another four years of Repubs, a misguided war in Iraq instead of a war on terror, and raping the constitution...I hope I am wrong about the Dem candidates being able to win...

Lastly, here's hoping the House vote on contempt charges gets the majority of the votes...

I have to admit I'd really like to see KO talk to Sen. Specter!

I think that would make for some mighty fine discussion - as we say down here in God's country.

I'd also like for KO to interview those stalwart gentlement (Rs) in the Senate who are publicly saying it is time to end our activity in Iraq but then voting against it on the Senate floor. That would be especially good if Sen Snow was included as she votes her mouth.

I'd really like to see that. Not being sarcastic - I think that would make an hour of really interesting television.
I think it's time to break out the ouija board and find some clairvoyance.  Both parties appear to forgetting their duties.  Bush and Co., would be better suited for day time drama TV than politics.  And speaking of politics, the democrats should have halted funding for Bush's dirty war in Iraq.

Would be correct in assuming I sound bitter.  Both parties and the current administration have mistaken opportunities to help the county for lobbyists short term gains.

I have written both my Senate and house representatives suggesting they get off their butts and start working on problems.  Funny, those folks don't do much till it's re-election time.
Thank you B A for once again expressing how truly awful the state of this nation is. Thanks also to Keith and crew, for keeping the "ugly" truth upfront and in our faces. At least some of us are actually listening and learning daily.

It really flabbergasts me that there are still people in this country, with eyes and ears (brains in question), who support this administration. We hear from some of them daily on this blog, but they have not once given a clear reason why they think Bush and Co. are doing a "Heckuvva Job."

These Bushie lovers seem upset that we have no love for this prez, but you really do have to earn respect in order to get it.

When we use this great blog to question executive signing orders, which bw uses regularly to skip over any pesky law he disagrees with, we hear from the fleas: "You stoopid unintelligent liberals, quit yer upatriotic whining..get fitted for your burkas, sharia law..yadda yadda"

When the FBI ADMITS it abused the patriot act to spy on Americans, and we use this blog to say how dangerous and wrong this is, we hear from the fleas: "You stoopid unintelligent liberals, quit yer upatriotic whining..get fitted for your burkas, sharia law..yadda yadda"

When we find out even more about the scope of warrantless wire-tapping, and use this blog to discuss how wrong and dangerous this is, (and to wonder where are the governmental Checks and Balances we learned about in Civics class), we inevitably hear from the fleas: "You stoopid unintelligent liberals, quit yer upatriotic whining..get fitted for your burkas, sharia law..yadda yadda"

I am a proud progressive/independent/liberal..never been a hippie.. but because I am a patriotic, THINKING, intelligent American who actually takes part in the voting process, I have voted twice for a Republican mayoral candidate. Why? Because I judged that the Republican candidate was the most qualified of the available candidates at the times I voted. (Not in NY if any of you's are wondering)

I do not have partisan blinders on. I do not hate my fellow Americans who disagree with my principles. Larry, Wayne, Adam, Tom in DC and Budwizer, why do you hate your fellow Americans so much? It is too bad that you are all so blinded by what you think is the absolute truth, that you don't even have the integrity to be ashamed of yourselves. Well, I will say it for you. Shame on you.

We will continue to question this administration's corrupt policies, and to demand an end to the pointless war in Iraq. My guess is that the "Stuck on the same excuse for talking points over and over" fleas aren't losing any sleep over 3,600 and counting dead Americans.

Those of us who love America and the Constitution are thinking of our troops and want them to come home safe; NOW, not in some indefinite future.

Pam Bignardi, I hope you come back soon. I have enjoyed reading your informative posts. It isn't your fault that no matter how many facts you give the fleas, they remain blinded by their rabid neocon indoctrination.

Also, Steve Turner, I miss your blow by blows of the Countdown shows!

Peace to us all
Dag I didn't know it was pre-recorded interview with Leahy... :(
Mr. K. Olbermann:
Keep doing what your doing.....What this Prez and co. are doing is no longer funny.....WE are getting really scared.
How can they be put out of office?.
Independent, Texas (Sent Wednesday, July 25, 2007 6:49 PM)

Watch him be a NOT VOTING he does that too on certain controversial issues.. seen it many times...

I have one question though.. why do they chose Ron Paul over Dennis Kucinich, he says and does vote his mouth.. Just asking...
Independent I doubt that would happen.. I would be shocked, I hope he would so he could shock me..The only reason being exactly the reason you stated is why he wouldn't.. he doesn't vote according to his mouth... He's comfortable over at Fox...
LT in MD (Sent Wednesday, July 25, 2007 8:39 PM)

LT - agree with it all. Well done.

Like you I certainly do miss Steve's version of the countdown. Maybe that new Jack Russell terrior puppy has just exhausted him. Those dogs are like the energizer bunny on steroid!

Won't you come home, Stever Turner, won't you come home? (you know the tune.)
Oh crap...just a I thought....the descent started at the beginning and continued straight down. No dissenting opinion at all. It wasn't even decent. Out of beer and full of pizza. Guess I will go mow the yard, and water the flowers the butler was sick today. There is hope for tomorrow though...more beer more pizza and another titillating hour of Keith.
My post is not really related to the subject thread.  However, you may find it interesting.  I'm not sure if it is my cable company or MSNBC or what, but I was watching Countdown tonight (7/25 8-9pm EST) and during the commerical break at the halfway mark (8:30-8:35) there was a commercial for none other than THE O'REILLY FACTOR.  Why, oh why, is MSNBC (first of all) airing commericals for a network that regularly attacks them and WHY, oh WHY, are they airing commercials for BILL FUCKING O'REILLY during COUNTDOWN!?!?!?  Anyway, MSNBC has thus far blown me off since I called them, got some dude who said "That's not my department" and transferred me to a voice mailbox, and so I needed to tell someone about this, even if that someone is a faceless blip in cyberspace whom I will never meet.  Keep fighting the good fight all of you, especially you Keith.  You are the only MSM TV news anchor worth watching.
My post is not really related to the subject thread, so apologies to you all and to the webmaster, I hope you will still post it.  I'm not sure if it is my cable company or MSNBC or what, but I was watching Countdown tonight (7/25 8-9pm EST) and during the commerical break at the halfway mark (8:30-8:35) there was a commercial for none other than THE O'REILLY FACTOR.  Why, oh why, is MSNBC (first of all) airing commericals for a network that regularly attacks them and WHY, oh WHY, are they airing commercials for BILL O'REILLY during COUNTDOWN!?!?!?  Anyway, MSNBC has thus far blown me off since I called them, got some dude who said "That's not my department" and transferred me to a voice mailbox, and so I needed to tell someone about this, even if that someone is a faceless blip in cyberspace whom I will never meet.  Keep fighting the good fight all of you, especially you Keith.  You are the only MSM TV news anchor worth watching.
Interesting discussion with Sen. Leahy.  I didn't know, for example, that Stephen Hayes was trying to write a FAVORABLE biography of Vice -- the more he tried to be positive, the more negative his subject appeared!

The discussion with Bruce Fein was also interesting, although I was fairly surprised that obstruction of justice was not his #1 projected ground for impeachment -- ignoring, and instructing subordinates to ignore, inquiries from a "co-equal" branch of government seems to me to be a pretty compelling demonstration of contempt for not just Congress but indeed the very Constitution that Shrub/Vice swore to uphold.  But if John Conyers has another 50 bases, then it doesn't really matter where which offense stands in the pecking order.

No one should expect anything significant to result from the contempt citations from the House of Representatives.  Play it out -- (1) no US Attorney for the District of Columbia will pursue the criminal charge, because if s/he does s/he will be fired by Gonzo and the DOJ; (2) even if it does happen and they are convicted, there will be appeals through the judicial system until it gets to the amBush-ed Supreme Court, which will certainly overturn any conviction(s); and (3) even if Justices Scalia, et al., suddenly remember that they advocate strict interpretation of the Constitution and uphold the conviction(s) .... presidential pardons will inevitably and immediately follow!

Finally, does the latest Executive Order put Edwards' and Billary's fabulous wealth in jeopardy?  If legitimate questions about an Iraq exit strategy equals propaganda benefit to those who would disturb our efforts to normalize the current Iraqi "government", and the assets of those who Shrub determines aid those who would disturb our efforts to normalize the current Iraqi "government" are subject to seizure, then who gets the house in Chappaqua???

It just keeps getting weirder and weirder ...

I'm sorry Brenda but I must just be really tired. I don't understand what you are saying in these 2 posts.

I think I'm getting confused with the "hes". Help me out.
Bud Wizer Bushgardens Tx. (Sent Wednesday, July 25, 2007 9:00 PM)

Nice play on words, Bud. Don't agree, of course, but I do like your style. Nice recovery.
I agree with George from Hammonton NJ -- the Democrats have an unblemished record of self-destruction (with the primary assist to Ralph Nader!) when it comes to presidential elections they SHOULD win!

As much as I admire Senator Obama's principled intelligence and respect Senator Clinton's desire to serve for the good of the American people, it is really a shame that Senator Joe Biden cannot seem to get any traction or attention -- he is smart, straight-talking, in tune with the American people ... and would not present as easy a Repugnikan target.
This will be Specter's moment to put   up or shut up.  When the Republicans has the majority, he spewed a lot of hot air... but never REALLY created any HEAT.  The local boys here would say he's ALL HAT AND NO HORSE.  It's finally time to MOUNT UP AND RIDE!
G can say it was about "other" because the "other" had to be taken out of the current TSP before the DoJ would sign off.
Pat Leahy---give me a break. I know personally that Leahy is the same ego as Cheney. When will someone tell him (and Keith) that it's over (oh...maybe I just did!).
"
When the FBI ADMITS it abused the patriot act to spy on Americans"
The Inspector General's report indicated that some personel had not followed the provisions of the Patriot act , thats where the supposed abuses came from.
The failure to adhere to the provisions of the act endangered prosecutions by making information gathered ,"fruit of a poisoned tree".
No one, not even the FBI or CIA cares whether you phone your granny on her birthday, and if you've phoned a crack dealer for home delivery don't worry they can't use any such info they may gather by accident.

PS
The Liberals here have found that wearing a tinfoil hat while using the cell phone confounds the CIA brain wave scanners. They learned about it in Weekly World News.
Independent, Ron Paul has done the NV on many controversial subjects.. That was what the first one was about..
The second post was that I doubt if Arlen Spector would be on Keiths show.. sorry about that..
artofthespiel, nj (Sent Wednesday, July 25, 2007 9:17 PM)

I have been asking if this stuff can be continued after they leave office.. I guess the UN would have to do a war tribunal... I do know that anyone can be tried for treason.. so that I am sure could be taken to the courts after they leave office.. if they do...
Jim in Boston: The probable explanation for that odd ad placement is your local cable company doing it. Ours down here frequently, during the portion of commercial time when they insert their own adverts, will promote channels they carry in odd juxtapositions -- e.g., an add for an ABC program in the middle of an NBC program, a plug for steamy "mature" cable programming from one channel in the midst of a children's block on another, and even, occasionally, an expired ad for a program you'd need a time-machine to catch.  =:)
Joe Biden had done a flip flop about the war.. when he first started running he was talking about how we needed to pull out now blah blah, then changed.. like I said I don't trust a dem any more than a repub, because they all get money.. and do not really work for us the american people. They will from time to time pretend they are..
Patrick Leahy is one really p*ssed off, man! He has had his fill of the non answers of the AG! I found myself actually cheering him on!  Yet, it is quite upsetting that the mongrels keep passing the buck, saying; "duh... I don't recall... don't remember... don't know..." anything except, I stand on the Fifth (5th) Amendment.  How very convenient - Now, this is a "INConvenient UNtruth" and... the AG is so smug about it, too!
Well, as long as "Lil' Bush" acts like god he can do anything he wants - oh yah, God tells him what to say, do, be!  I forgot myself for a moment.
I have seen some pretty awful 'leadership' in this country - but, this really takes the cake!
I missed the interview with Senator Leahy, on "Countdown" - sad :(  Ah, well.  This is most likely only the beginning of such - and, I look forward to more disclosures of what this Administration is doing.
Thanks to all of you, for your great posts! It does help keep me informed on the latest happenings.
I am particularly impressed with the knowledge of some posters - or, at least their ability to access information on the web.  Keep up the great work!
I continue to believe as long as the People remain strong, we shall overcome!
One note: If we continue to inform those who do not seem aware, are in denial, or just don't give a care, it can make all the difference.
Keep on Keeping ON!
Brenda;  It has occurred to me, people like Senator Biden oft times feel strongly about this war issue, and getting our troops out of Iraq - then, realize there is no good way to accomplish it, without forsaking the Iraqi people.
Now, that we realize the Al Quaeda has made its way into a war torn area, they are able to move freely, without detection - because our Military cannot always know which are 'regular' Iraqi's and which are the Al Quaeda.  It truly is a sad commentary for our Military personnel - placing them in the midst of a war, which turned into "Civil War" - which turned into a battle of 'wills.'  Who 'will' be the victors? Will Iraq be any better off than when our Military went in?  Will they be better off without a 'dictator'?  Or, will there be another one to ultimately take his place?  Will 'democracy' really play out, or can it be sustained in a country which has not known anything but brutal leadership, for a long, long time.
Question: Didn't the USA put Saddam Hussein in power, in the first place?  I read this somewhere... anyone have the answer?
I personally opposed the war in Iraq before it happened, and continue to oppose it.  I continue to ask the same question - why didn't our CIA just take Saddam 'out'?  I know there is no simple answer to this question - I also know they have been doing this kind of stuff since, forever.

I distinctly heard him say that IMPEACHING GONZO would be a mute issue because it would tale as much time as he has left in office.

So #1) Leahy has to start from scratch to investigate Gonzo's offences rather than use all that's has been compiled to date and #2) the prosecution of hatch act, caging election law, civil rights act violations, perjury, etc.,  is NOT necessary since Gonzo will be leaving office, so the next AG will know better.

WHAT PART OF BULLSHIT DONT YOU UNDERSTAND!!!!!!!

The sooner you start IMPEACHMENT the sooner it will be over!

I was pleased to see the Leahy interview and KO, the way you asked him about the new "Dickie" book and the author as well as the sitaution where he tried to befriend "Dickie" and then was later ridiculed by the man, was great.I never knew shaking hands with someone is code for french kissing. Yikes, it looks like "Dickie" hasnt gotten any in awhile. Leahy will be one of the men to bring Rove, Gonzo and "Dickie" down. It was a pleasant interview considering the unpleasasnt situation. Cudos for the fine reporting and eloquent style you always display KO. Peace to all, Denise!
WeLLLLLL, General George Patton Was Right! Washington is nothing but a bunch Of Paper Hanging S.O.B's! !!!!!-----"""Don't do as I Do""" Do As I SAY!

Ro H, Hesperia, CA (Sent Thursday, July 26, 2007 4:22 AM)
Sorry I feel that what Joe Biden says are talking points.. all sides use them... the stuff about getting them out and the Iraqi people.. I feel that if they really had cared about the Iraqi people in the first place they wouldn't have allowed Bush to have this war.. alot of those who did go along with it.. were warned by those of us out here that knew it was crap... You can't tell me that they were not seeing what we were.. if they didn't or chose to do it because they have some sort of business in their states that have to do with the war machine (like mine) They were told by Inspectors that Bush himself appointed to look for WMD'S and there were no WMD'S.. and went ahead a approved the war.. from both sides. Alot of states got some money from this war..
A small note.. today on the local news they said that the company here in florida that make those night vision goggles just laid off 95 people....

Yes, the USA did put Saddam into power.. They also I can say have done that with their new puppet and when he doesn't work out and does like Saddam did.. they will want him out just as they have done in other Countries, Noriega <sp> is one of them.. also during the same reign in this country by another White House that had almost all the same people in it as today...
All I can say about many other things.. is that things may not always seem as they are..

Your question...
I personally opposed the war in Iraq before it happened, and continue to oppose it.  I continue to ask the same question - why didn't our CIA just take Saddam 'out'?  I know there is no simple answer to this question - I also know they have been doing this kind of stuff since, forever.

The CIA didn't take Saddam out because his country was Souverign.. That is the reason why Bush Sr. didn't do it...common sense says that there would have been an investigation into something like taking a president out.. this would have been a world court issue not here under this governments protective arms..
Did you know that the only living President that still knows what the CIA is doing is Bush Sr.? Any president can do this.. but he is the only one that does.. Bush Sr. says he doesn't know what is going on, but he ends up talking with Putin sends people from his administration etc.. LOL what joke.. I keep telling people that Papa Bush is in the background on everything that has been done.. you don't see his name on anything but he's there...  I love when people say some peoples thoughts are a conspiracy theory, but you know what.. the problem with that being is wrong. What I see are that the same players have been playing with our government way to long! I don't know every detail to what these people have done but the puzzle pieces fit together so well.. watch, add, think.. if you look at the puzzle and put it together.. anyone can find the answers.. they are there for you.. it's if anyone wants to do the hard work to do it...
If I didn't help, please let me know.. or a question that I didn't quite answer.. all I can say that one of the pieces of the puzzle is PNAC... it can tell people alot .. you have to read their statement and look at their goals,etc.. it explains plenty.

Art of the spiel

"and respect Senator Clinton's desire to serve for the good of the American people"

You can't honestly be serious about that statement. Senator Clinton cares about one person and one person only, Herself.

As for the wiretapping, no one cares if they listened in on some innocent citizen's conversation.  So, did any innocent citizen get dragged in for something they did.  If it helps the FBI identify potential terrorism, in this country, go ahead, listen to my conversation.  I have nothing to hide.  Relax on your rights.  Your lives have not been changed one bit as a result of these policies put in place.

That being said, I am tired of Gonzales.  He is doing no good, and it is time for him to step down.  His stonewalling does no good for the American people.
Keith, I will try to explain the point here.. it's not about them listening I don't give a crap either but then I do, them doing something illegal according to our Constitution is WRONG.. period no ifs, ands or buts.. and if I have the feeling by the little clicks and crap I hear in the background on my phone are going on I tell them what I think.. If they would come to my door I would be screaming and yelling all in my neighborhood that my Constitutional Rights have been violated.. because according to Bush they can do it without warrant.. that is why there is a statement in our Bill Of Rights against illegal search and seisure.
The people in his administration are trying to trash our rights.
We as americans have the right according to our freedoms to say and discuss whatever we want, without an outsider listening to our conversations.. would you like it if a friend was doing that to you? Let's put it in this context.. what if someone was listening to your conversation, decided to make up some lie and get you arrested, when you know it isn't true.. and you do not get representation and are forced to sit in jail for as long as they feel the need? All the Directives and crap that Bush puts out there are a violation, according to our Constitution.. if you do not believe in the Constitution.. then you do not uphold what was given to us as a people of it.. I love the Constitution and the Bill Of Rights.. these are the papers that have held this country together, if they are torn apart then the country will fail..if you are willing to give this up over some terrorists, or just because you have nothing to hide, then they have done what they have set out to do... Bush has said they hate us for our freedoms.. and then does everything to take them away.. does that make sense to you?
No country is truely a free country, because of laws that are suppose to protect the innocent. If they didn't have some things in place then there would be mahem... The thing is if we are to uphold the law, those that are suppose to be working for us should be even more to do so... but those who are part of this government at this time are not doing that, and put it in our faces that they think they are above the same laws we have to go by, they are "Hired" Employees of the People Of This Country.. not matter what side of the Isle they are on...
Keith / Allentown: Ditto on Hillary, and on Gonzales stepping down. And, let's add Bush to that stepping down. He is doing no good, is constantly working on damage control rahter than leading this country, has terrible support numbers and wants to stay the course in a conflict the American people are tired of (no matter if you agree or disagree with staying the course or leaving). He is dead in the water. Let's move on and let him go back to Crawford just a bit early.
"As for the wiretapping, no one cares if they listened in on some innocent citizen's conversation.  So, did any innocent citizen get dragged in for something they did."

I care because it's un-Constitutional.  As for dragging an innocent citizen off, we don't know.  Mr. Bush has suspended habeas corpus.
