President Clinton Tonight

Posted: Thursday, September 27, 2007 1:11 PM by Countdown

Fresh off his Clinton Global Initiative conference in New York yesterday, former President Bill Clinton will sit down with Keith tonight to talk about everthing from global health, poverty, education and climate change...to politics in this country, the state of the war in Iraq, and his wife's bid to replace President Bush.

Thank goodness for the DVR feature on Dish Network; I'm looking forward to this!

Remember back in the good 'ol days when all we were worried about in this country was whether President Clinton got a "you know what" in the Oval Office? Most of the rest of the world actually liked us. Ahhh...memories...
Like the previous thread, maybe Mo will give a crap about Bill Clinton. No one else does, including Hillary ! Ref. her answer last night to the torture question.
Be careful what you say, Larry. The mighty Clinton penis will get ya!
I beg to differ, Larry. Like him or not, Bill Clinton is a masterful politican and can work a room like few public figures can. If you don't think he is a galvanizing force for the Democratic base, you're mistaken. He will bring in the democrats that don't like Hillary. They will vote for her because of him.
As far as the debate last night, I really liked Joe Biden, he hasn't got a chance, but he's an experienced, no nonesense, get it done kind of guy that the country can use. I'd like to see him and Jim Webb (D-Va) as a ticket.
I brought my at the time 8 year old granddaughter to Barnes and Noble @ 4:00 in the morning in 2004 (during Convention) to stand in line so President Clinton could autograph his new book for us. We waited in line for approx. 12 hours. I was able to secure a great picture of him smiling down at her when she said "Thank you Mr. President", after he signed her book.

He looked like a movie star that day with all the lights and cameras as he stood on a small stage in a little corner, signing books, with his friendly demeanor and quick smile.

Thousands upon thousands of people showed up that day.  Awesome, awesome memory.
News to Keith O.  Bill Clinton is too smart to take the bait on your opinion of Pres Bush.  So you will have to lob up those grand slam questions for him.  I might have to watch this to see whether you have that same frothiness as you do when you are going after Bush.  If not, then you are not a journalist, but just a political commentator.  Show me something, Sir, I would love to see you act differently, but I am afraid I won't be disappointed.
God I wish he could be President again!!!

DVR is my best friend!
UPDATE PLEASE.
Larry SC 1:25 PM..maybe Mo will give a crap about Bill Clinton. No one else does..sorry Larry, but alot of us do "give a crap" about Bill Clinton.  Speak for yourself next time ok.
About 3/4ths of this country would GLADLY have Bill Clinton back in the White House if we could. EVERYTHING was better then, though maybe the wealthy's portfolios were not quite so well off as now. Boo-hoo. Let's make them richer, Georgie-Boy.
I used to think that Bill was a sick little monkey, but Larry Craig, Bob Allen, Mark Foley, Dennis Hastert, Boehner and Erik Rudolph really make him look like an amature.
HELLO, UPDATE BEFORE NEXT MONDAY?
"Like the previous thread, maybe Mo will give a crap about Bill Clinton. No one else does, including Hillary ! Ref. her answer last night to the torture question."

Boy, Larry 'widestance" Craig refusing to resign has really put you neotrolls in a bad mood ;)
Wow Pat (1:57 pm post), John Dean...Bill Clinton...you hob-nob with the cream of the crop, don't you?! :) I can't imagine why no one wants to come to my fair city...
Timmy, Milwaukee WI (Sent Thursday, September 27, 2007 1:31 PM)

As true liberals that is what we think of when we think of Clinton.
TL, you're about as much a true liberal as I am a true centipede.

That's you repukes, though. That's ALL you. You can hardly open your mouths without lying, can you?

Not only is everything you post here a lie, your little handle is a lie!

Although, it's probably not a lie that you literally have a little handle.

Maybe this will help sort out your obviously very cluttered thinking. It was the Republican-led Congress of the 90s that was obsessed with the doings...the shall we say, "ins and outs", of President Clinton's mighty penis. NOT, as you seem to think (if you want to call what you do thinking), the "libruls".

Care to try again?
Why do all the polls eliminate all but 4 or 5 candidates.
Go here: http://www.votenic.com to support your candidate of choice.
It's not over yet.

Timmy...I absolutely agree.  It's probably scott, or Wayne, or one of the other trolls trying to "trick" us into thinking that they are a True Liberal when everything they've written so far has been exactly crap!  No substance all words... and not even big words.....!! Ha!  What else should we expect of repugs but more lies...
Mt View 6:42pm.
scotty has been conspicuous by his absence the past few days. Coincidence???
He doesn't even have the brain to post under both names.
Looking forward to tonight's show w/former President Clinton...

Hey CD crew tomorrow is my B-day...Anyway you could send a shout out in the form of maybe a segue of Paul Anka's hit "Diana"...
and like a another campy Godzilla movie. Here comes Billy Boy to bring misery and desperation to the american people.
Bill Clinton should be hideing rather than be going public. After all he provided as just as many problems upon america as both Bush's combined.
Gee, Eight years of prosperity for the country, not just for the wealthiest 10 percent, No War, At least the semblence of equality for all Americans (Which the Demonic Holy-Roller Wingnuts refer to as "catering to special interests"). Having a president for whom the poorest among us were not invisible, and who never pretended to be "Holier than Thou."

Ya how terrible. I fail to understand the lack of perspective. The neocons have GW: Stubborn, Undiplomatic, Poor command of the English Language, not mention just downright inarticulate, 33 percent approval rating (and holding steady),and involved our nation in an unwinnable conflict with a country who never attacked us.. but they still find the CHUTZPAH to trash Clinton.

Maybe someday the Wingnuts will find some Perspective!!

Peace to us all

I once had an autograph picture signed by Mr. Clinton in person when he was elected back in 92. I tried to sell it back in 2001 and I got one offer on Ebay for $2.55. I never sold it due to the cost of shipping and handling would not make it worth it. If anybody still wants it and would pay the S/H charge can have it for nothing.
Where doe it say in the constitution that Liberals have to be pro democratic. or Conservatives have to be pro republican. Has DR. Goebels taken charge of the Liberal party again and imposed his own laws again?
What is Keith O's obsession with Bill O'Reilly?
Wow, thanks for the offer Steve C, MD. Clinton recently spoke at a college graduation, and folks were scalping their extra tickets for hundreds of dollars.. What do you think the chances of that happening for GW are.. I'll tell you now.. Zilch. People can hardly stand to hear the man speak now, and the cost of keeping GW safe after he leaves office would probably bankrupt a small nation.. Since us stoopid taxpayers will be picking up that tab, it won't affect Georgie's 'coffers,' that he will be eagerly finding ways to fill.

Again, Perspective folks..
Can somebody name me a US president from the past 100 years or so that admitted to the americsn people that they did not care about forighn oil and would not endorse any policy to ensure the oil trade remans open?
LT in MD (Sent Thursday, September 27, 2007 8:18 PM)

I'm sorry by I don't rememeber mentioning GW Bush in my past comment. However I can only assume that you are not interested and move on
CA -- Thanks for the advice.  As for what I meant in my comment to Full Moon, I'll let it speak for itself.  Usually when I talk to conservatives, they don't talk back to me.  (I can't imagine why.)  Full Moon talks back to me, and so far only respectfully.  I can't control, nor will I judge, how he/she talks to others.  Nor would I try to. There are a few liberals on this site who don't talk nicely to people either, and sometimes I think they don't even know when they're doing it.  I don't talk to them much, probably because I've had liberals talk disparagingly to me, too, in another life.  As Full Moon so rightly guessed, I'm an anomaly.  Blogging here gives me an outlet for my ideas, such as they may be, and I want to support this site and this show.  I certainly don't want to be the center of any debates.  But that won't stop me from enjoying an occasional exchange with Full Moon, when he graces us with his presence.  We have had a little fun with music, as he said, and I missed that after he went away.  We've exchanged a few civil comments, and I appreciate that, too.  As both of you have so kindly said, I do have a brain, and I'm not anyone's dupe.  (Not Billo's and not Countdown's.)  But thanks for looking out for me.  And nice talking to you.
Great interview with President Clinton. Whenever I hear him speak, it makes me nostalgic for the days when we had an intelligent, articulate human occupying the WhiteHouse. Hopefully we will again in 2009.

As for Billo, I don't know why people are acting like he's 'suddenly' gone over the edge. He's been way over the edge for a long time. I recall Rosie O'Donnell saying that, after she mentioned his loofah incident on The View, he'd contacted her and threatened to put her in his 'crosshairs' if she ever said anything about it again.

But the reality has always been he (Billo) is a whore & Murdoch is his pimp.  They understand that there is money to be made from a segment of the population who want/need to have their ignorance validated. That is what Fox does: They don't enlighten or inform their sad, unbalanced viewers. They merely validate their ignorance to keep them tuned in.
Bill will also remove that silver wig to reveal he is Beldar Conehead's long lost cousin, Casanovar Conehead, and that tomorrow morning after Mass Consumption of Monocelled Avian Reproductive Container Contents, Rectangular Porcine Protein Units, Flamed Tuber Fibres, and Cold Sucrosal Acidic and Hot Alkaline Fluids (the latter with Bovine Mucous), not to mention a curious local custom called a "Hot Air Start", the Earth will finally be invaded by Remulac, and the Calamitous Reign of the Irksome Pinhead Dubya, will come to an abrupt Conclusion.
I understand why MSNBC's ratings are in the toilet.  The Liberal bias with this network just does not resinate with America.  Don't you get it?  I laugh at the dozens of stories about Bill O'Reilly and Fox News on MSNBC.  These stories actually make MSNBC look pretty stupid, pathetic and jealous.  Keith O is the absolute worst news person I have ever seen on TV.
Having Bill Clinton on your program isn't gonna get you any ratings.  No, I didn't watch.

You must be talking about BUDDY the family dog
It was good to see former President Clinton on Countdown. Always a great speaker, makes alot of sense, a humanitarian who has made great use of his time after his tenure. Is giving back to society for the opportunities he was given, as we all should in our own way.
speaking the obvious (Sent Thursday, September 27, 2007 10:05 PM)

Hey "speaking the obvious", gothamtomato WAS speaking the obvious!!

Keith, great interview with former President Clinton!! Seeing two of my favorite people on the screen together was wonderful!! How refreshing it was to hear two extremely intelligent and articulate individuals, which both of you are, conversing.  Quite the stark comparison to Bill-O the talking Bobblehead, Emperor Chimpy McChucklenut, Rush-I-Have-Cysts-On-My-Ass Limbaugh and the rest of the Bushbots!!

Former President Bill Clinton is THE most skilled politician of my lifetime and quite possibly, ever!!

This is the reason the GOP "hated" him; the Republican Party thought they owned the White House, wrong!!  Bill Clinton showed Idiot-In-Chief Senior the door after one term, the GOP was stunned!! Bill Clinton's charisma, eloquence and intelligence captured the country and he knew it, so did the GOP!!

Again, thank you former President William Jefferson Clinton for all you did to enhance our global credibility and morality; to help the poor of this country; to attack racism; to help the middle class; to eliminate the colossal deficit that you inherited from Reagan and Bush Sr., in addition to the surplus you left “in the bank” at the end of your presidency; and to make me feel good about my country!! You sir, rock!!

PEACE & GOD BLESS YOU!!
Anomaly (8:27 PM Post): No need to look out for you. You can obviously look out for yourself. My comments to Full Moon were based on an observation that your posts appear to be pretty equtiable and level headed and not excessive on one side or another, and that Full Moon may have been borrowing an agreement from you with a quote that included labeling some in here and their posts insanity. I have seen you in here agreeing and not agreeing with bloggers and that is cool. I just wanted to give you the opportunity to clarify that although you agree and disagree and express your thoughts and opinions, that you did not necessarily feel that those who may disagree with you were insane. And you have cleared that up and it is appreciated I am sure by the bloggers here. I do agree, nastiness can and does come from both sides. People do become very emotionally tied to their beliefs especially on issues that may have a direct impact on their lives. But in the end, most people, on every side of an isssue are just plain good people who care.
Mark, AZ  it's resonate not resinate.

speaking the odvious -- it's obvious, not odvious.

I just don't understand how it's the 'liberals' who are "pretty stupid, pathetic and jealous", when it's usally the trolls who can't spell.

Please use spell check, it makes reading your rants easier.

You know how you buy a muffin and pick out the rasins or nuts because you don't like them. Well picture the muffin to be America, and the person picking them out is Keith Olberman. The rasins and nuts represent the truths that are present but are undesirable the the pallet of keith so he removes and ignores them. Now what you have left is a muffin suited especially for the individual only, altered from what it's creaters or founders had intended it to be.
Mark in Arizona:
He commented about Clinton last night and didn't even watch. Typical neocon. They pass judgement based on what someone else told them to think. That's called being a pupet. If Rush told them that by jumping off a cliff the'd be doing the republican party a favor, they'd happily leap without thinking why. If dynomite were brains, they couldn't blow their own nose.
Could I ask a question?  I read here more than I post and the running theme seems to be liberals v. conservative, Republican v. Democrats, us v. them.  I am a moderately-conservative Independent.  The overwhelming majority of the people I know are the same.  Also, most people I know think of themselves as simply Americans.

My question is . . . why do you folks attach labels (many times, completely and totally FALSE labels) to people simply because you disagree with them?

Also, a little clue to some of you folks who constantly label people who don't like what this administration and its goons have done to our country . . . they do NOT represent a conservative philosophy in any way, shape or form.  To label someone a . . . shudder . . . liberal (pursuant to the Rush/Sean definition) is a bit silly.  Some of the most uber-conservative people I know think these guys are lunatics.

Just a comment.  As for Bill O'Reilly, the guy has really lost it.  I listen to his radio program and occasionally, watch his show.  I heard the subject program, in context and in its entirety.  He said what he said.  It was insulting and insensitive.  While he may not have intended it that way, it was what it was.  What O'Reilly needs to do is apologize and shut up.  His tirade is only making him look more foolish than he already is.
Grab your life jackets the Democrats are running for the life boats an d abandoning the USS Evacuate Iraq. They jumping ship. However they pledge to keep the problem alive and well in 2013 if they can have your vote. Smells like, talks like, and walks like promises I heard in 1992.
Bill Clinton is the only Republican I've ever voted for! What a joy to hear him speak as opposed to W. who is verbally, grammatically, and, ethically challenged.
"I understand why MSNBC's ratings are in the toilet."

No matter how much you loyal Bushies insist that is true, it's not. Since 2006 MsNBC's ratings have risen while Faux News ratings have been falling.

For some reason the the immortal advice of Dean Wormer in "Animal House" comes to mind, "Fat. drunk, and stupid is no way to go thru life, son."

I'd only add deluded.

I think you mean "resonate" there, genuis. Though "resinate" would explain a lot.
I happened to turn on the tv last night to watch KO's interview with Pres. Clinton.  All I can say is that I had to turn it off.  Not because of Pres Clinton, but because Keith.  His interview was a disgrace.  He started with one of his rants about Bush, going on and on, and I could see Pres. Clinton thinking to himself, "Are you done yet".  As predicted, Keith Olbermann really showed his liberal bias blatantly last night.  Pres. Clinton did handle himself well, but you could see he was starting to get uncomfortable with KO's line.  Now I know why I cannot watch his program.  I come on here to get a different point of view, but his show is unwatchable.
After his performance last night I believe The the number of declared liberla voters have decreased by 10% (and falling)
Again, thank you former President William Jefferson Clinton for all you did to enhance our global credibility and morality; to help the poor of this country; to attack racism; to help the middle class; to eliminate the colossal deficit that you inherited from Reagan and Bush Sr....To Continue.....To bring us back into recession in 1999, To leave Osama Bin Laden safe and secure and invite his friends to tour the Skylines of both NYC and DC. To help the Chinese achieve the missle technology they needed to catch up to the US in Military Defence. To send Mrs Albright to N. Korea and sell to America  a false  agreement that the North has ended it's nuclear ambitions. To Leave the Middle East alone just long enough so that he can call no involevement even though everything today leads a trail back to his front door.  And thank you for bring the Playboy mansion to the White House, I think no details are required. You really must have liked the 1960's Mr.Clinton, because you sent us all back 30 years as far as global progress is concerned. Thank you again Mr. Clinton
Carol - while our "childrens is learning" (doubtful under No Child Left Behind), some adults are clearly not learning - as illustrated daily by BushCo and his band of political shills who troll here.

Bill Rochester NY (Sent Friday, September 28, 2007 12:42 PM)"--

OMG that is so true - ditto here.  He's the best Republican President we've had since Teddy Roosevelt.  Not surprising, since they were both highly intellectual READERS who passed along a love for learning and reading to their families and surrounded themselves with experts.
Sue, West Allis, Wisconsin (Sent Friday, September 28, 2007 2:49 PM)

I'm surprised you be impressed with teddy Roosevelt. He was very imperialistic and not afraid to admit it. He was very popular and like Reagan he was liked by both political parties. He is the reason why we have such bad rerlations with Central America (especially Cuba). Though he ran under the republican party when He wa elected for President. He never called himself a republican. If you can recall he ran against Wilson and Cleveland in 1912 under the "Bull Moose Party" He was a great leader but always hungry. he fought monopolys and built our state parks. His imperialistic side included the aqusition of Hawaii, Guam, PR, PI Guantanemo Bay and the Panama Canal.
