Me miss it?! A Keith devotee for many years and SIMPSONS fan since, literally, day 1 miss this?! I THINK NOT! ;D

And, a comment I made last night in the previous thread bears repeating. Keith was all over FOX last night; the episode of FAMILY GUY that featured Keith was also rerun! Wonder how that makes "he who shall not be named" feel? Ya' know, "it's" employer featuring Keith so much...hmmm...

Who would miss it?W e were all watching it, as much as I loved the return of Kelsey Grammer as Sideshow Bob,this bit was the best and the funniest.
I loved how Keith was drawn in dark blue suit and blue tie. Plus we got the bonus of the repeat Simpsons poking fun at Fox news while listing all the Liberal shows on Fox TV. Then the big added bonus was of the repeat of The Family Guy with Keith  when Lois runs for Mayor.

Trent Lott is leaving before the end of the year.  I have to ask the question why, after all he still has a year to filibuster anything the dems try to get done.  Well, it turns out he and Denny Hastert are leaving before the end of the year because if they wait until 2008, they then have to wait a year before taking high priced lobbying jobs.  Thats when the new ethics rules come into place.  The same ethics rules they called meaningless.  So to all the greedy republicans who value thier highpriced lobbying jobs over the terms of government service they committed to, lotts term goes until 2012, I say "see ya, wouldn't want to be ya."  To thier constituants I say, please choose more wisely this time around.

I was somewhat dismayed when Chris Matthews began to promote and campaign for his Hardball College Campus Tours in a manner that seemed to ignore or lower the importance of the issues that needed to be confronted each day. Don't fall into the same trap Keith. Your Simpson's appearance may have been cute (in some circles) but don't let the messenger become more important or greater then the message.

Jen - you have it almost right.  They're leaving because the new lobbying regulations will increase from the current 1 year - to 2 years - the amount of time between being a lawmaker and becoming a lobbyist.  Trent Lott is a great big friend of lobbyists - taking more trips on their private jets than anyone else in Congress and sticking in earmarks like there's no tomorrow.  I'm sure that his high priced lobbying job is ready and waiting for him 1 year from his "retirement" from the Senate along with a great big paycheck.

Additionally, Haley Barbor, the governor of Mississippi (Repugnikant) will appoint another Repugnikant as a seat filler until the 2008 election.  It will give the new guy a year of "incumbancy" to insure his election to the job in '08.

When it comes to self-interest and playing partisan politics, you've gotta hand it to Repugnikants.  They take good care of themselves and their sponsors.

I missed the Simpsons because I had to watch the game between the Patriots and Eagles. Sure glad I made that choice. Keith's choice for the Worst Person in the NFL was hilarous.
Larry  from Charleston, you still don't get it do you? The people that watch Countdown are the people that have an ability to think, reason and excersized good judgement. That probably makes us the minority.
It has been my experience that the people who watch O Reilly and the "news" team on Fox do not think, they just parrot what they hear. Do I agree with everything I hear on MSNBC and Countdown? Heavens no, that would indicate that one of us is not thinking. So, I ask, do you agree with everything you see and hear on FoxNews? If you do, I submit that you sir, have a major problem.

--Thanks for the update on Lott and Hastert, today's New Frontiers in Hypocrisy winners. Denny was certainly a wounded duck, and I doubt if Trent,as a poster child for repug financial mischief, was going to draw many voters to the party. I had a very strong suspicion that $$$ was involved in Lott's departure, though there's always the boy-toy/wide-stance revelations to anticipate after events of the past year.

Pity Lott probably won't turn into a pillar of salt if he looks back at Sodom, D.C. (I know.. it was his biblical namesake's wife who had that fate.)It'd certainly bring about a revival of religious interest. Especially among the wingnuts, who might have to reconsider a few of their articles of faith.

C A - From an earlier thread, I agree with you regarding Senator Clinton, which is why I have been upset since she announced her candidacy!! While she has every right to run, she has known for years how polarizing she is; she knew what would be forthcoming; she's extremely intelligent and had a comprehensive understanding of how public opinion would make a general election win particularly challenging!!

She put "Self before Country"; and I therefore have been, and continue to be, extremely upset with her decision to seek the presidency.  This election is too critical for our country's future; she knew that and seemingly didn’t care!!

I hope I am wrong, but seriously, I don't think I am!! The only thing that will save us "if" she gets the nomination is Giuliani, McCain and Romney!! The republican candidates are exceedingly more frightening, which is why I stated last week if Senator Clinton gets the democratic nomination, she has my vote hands down!!

Giuliani and Romney have both stated they will expand Gitmo, not close it under “their administration(s)”; McCain will have us in Iran if Bush/Cheney doesn’t first (as will Giuliani and Romney)-- remember “bomb, bomb, bomb--bomb-- bomb Iran-- by John McCain; all three will keep us in Iraq with no end in site and all have said so!!

Therefore, I have much more confidence and faith in Senator Clinton than these three inept GOP buffoons!!

You also hit the nail on the head with the "support the troops" comment to small scottie!! We DO support the troops; it's the small scottie's, the republican administration and the republicans in Congress who DO NOT!!

Small scottie revealed his age last week, as I knew it was just a matter of time before his stupidity caught up with him.  Therefore his new “military career” claim is even more absurd than his claim that he keeps his life secret to protect himself.  He's a fraud, a jackass and a liar, just like George W. Bush!!

Also, while those listed above have voted AGAINST our troops, George W. Bush went and continues to go beyond NOT "supporting the troops", he has betrayed them in the most deplorable manner imaginable!!

You better throw CNN viewers in also cause the last time I checked they simply had many more viewers than MSNBC will ever have.From it's programming I really can't figure out if MSNBC is a news channel or not.And when is the last or first time Keith has debated anyone on his show with an opposing point of view? My guess is many people that watched The Simpsons last night were saying Keith who or I thought he was still reading baseball scores.
