Amy Robach in for Keith tonight...

Get Out the Vote Some Democrats believe that the party's nominating process has picked up steam only recently... While others feel it has long since passed its sell-by date... But not until today did a leading Democrat actually call on one of the candidates to drop out of the race. Our fifth story on the Countdown: Senator Patrick Leahy says its time for Senator Clinton to pick up her marbles and go home.

Empire State of MIndIt's more than the current President had five years ago..And yet - dependent on so many contingencies - its feasibility is highly questionable. Our fourth story on the Countdown - more on the Clinton exit strategy. Not from Iraq. But from the Race.

ODDBALL: A first pitch gone wrong, a big fat cat and the world's most important polar bear news.

Ad HominemIn a move that mirrors the paradox facing John McCain... today he released the year's first general-election ad... In one state. Our third story tonight, the ad offers answers to the question "Who is John McCain"... and offers hints to the question... "Who is John McCain running against?" On that subject, a couple viewing tips... Note the gender used in the questions about the next president. And see if you recognize the actor narrating the ad.

You are NOT the Father:   It is one of the most pertinent questions in modern America Spawning a generation of talk shows - reality shows and sideshows unparalleled in our culture. Our second story on the Countdown - Who's your daddy? And as our own Michelle Kosinski reports - the answer just got a lot easier.

Paris' Turkey SpecialParis Hilton is in her prime. How else can you explain a woman who is judging a beauty pageant in Turkey... and building her own personal disco in the basement of her house. Now that's livin'! And in our number one story on the Countdown, Ms. Hilton knows it, seeing herself as a role model for girls. This, from the heiress who once compared herself to other iconic blondes like Marilyn Monroe and Princess Diana.

I love paris's comment, "I built this empire on my own." I guess the fact that her father is a multimillionare who has given her everything is unrelated.
walmart is a corporate conglomerate that has forgotten what drives the profit margin.  the workers do that.

thanks keith for saying so.

boycotts will not change view points.  education and enlightenment can take a dialogue to a new level.

it seems we all have the ability to do just what is perfect for all of us.

I loved Rachel's comment about the voice actor and saying that Darth Vader has a good voice but he blew up a planet. Amy did really well! I hope Keith has a day off to prepare for Sunday's show. I'm super excited for that.
Re #3 Ad Hominem - Powers Booth also played Jim Jones in a TV docudrama on the Jonestown massacre: "Guyana Tragedy: The Story of Jim Jones (1980)"
Amy is great, but, I MISS MY KEITH!!!!  Keith you are not allowed to have time off, even though you are probably working on the 5th Anniversary Show airing Sunday.  I am absolutely addicted to Countdown and your delivery of the day's top stories.  MISS YOU KEITH!
So, if one would-be nominee's supporters can talk the other would-be nominee into quitting, leaving only one, does that mean the Democratic Party would simply cancel holding a convention at all and save the money for the general election campaign? That's what the Republicans are doing, right? (Yeah, riiiigggghhht . . . Oh, brudder!)
Where is Countdown????
Normally it is on at 9PM West Coast.
All I find this week is a special on prisons - who cares???
When does Countdown come back????
And now we have the Leahy variation to the classic Aiken proposition: "Declare victory and tell the other guy to go home."

3.28 broadcast appears to have greatly overstated patterson drug use, when discussing hillary prospects for governor etc...... be careful.....was it a few times or as stated on the 3/28 program,

If HRC is ahead in popular vote in June will you still call the process"democratic"? If we are attacked again, say on July 4th, might that not change things enough that we all might want her to be running against McBush? I hope she stays in, just tones down the personal attacks.
Excuse me but is there any way Amy Robach could sit in for Keith EVERY night?
Dear Keith just wanted to congratulate you on your 5th year , im 22 years old i  was never really into wathching the news  until i came upon your show its great i love it my girlfriend loves keep up the good work!
Good job, Amy!  Really enjoyed the show Friday.  I'm also looking forward to Keith on Sunday.  Keep up the good work.
OK...if it's 'Obama/Gore' vs. 'McCain/Cheney', what would the Hollywood Papparazzi Names be? 'Obagore'? 'McCainey'? Or maybe a Scots/Irish twist like 'O'Gore' vs. 'McCheney'? Perhaps a Hip Hop, 'O-Go' vs. 'M-Chain'? "B-Al' vs. 'J-Dick'? And the VP Debates? "VeePee Repeat"? "Global Warming" vs."Global Warring"? I guess that would be 'Polarizing' enough...or maybe not. Just an Independent Observation.
Being able to add in your head is WAY over-rated.  Binary to decimal conversion can come in handy.  Octal to decimal can cause hemorrhaging.  If you are able to do hexadecimal to decimal in your head, I thankfully, won't be able to make in sense at all to you.
The Blues actually beat Detroit at home.  Detroit must already have home-ice advantage and nothing further to gain by winning.  Not making the NHL finals isn't easy.
Too bad the Turks couldn't have checked Ms.Hilton's blood for illegal substances.  I hear that can be a problem in Turkey.  (Free Mary ann!)
It took 6 years of Phoenix,Arizona to be able to order food in their version of Spanish.  I stand by "Carne asada burrito".  I suprisingly found someone locally who didn't look at me funny when I ordered one.  It was good.  I'd even plug the restaurant-if I could remember where on W.Manchester I was.  Short-term memory is over-rated.
Worst Persons in the World ... Microsoft - for intentionally screwing up the Countdown video viewer for folks who use The Mozilla Firefox browser. Apparently Bill isn't rich enough yet :-(
