Countdown Wednesday: Spinnsylvania

What's Changed?: And the Democrats will continue. Not only continue, but commemorate. Saturday -- this Saturday -- marks exactly one year... since the first... Democratic Presidential debate. Our fifth story on the Countdown: tonight neither primary nor debate... But debate over whether any of the claims of last night's winner... are of primary and not secondary importance.

Border Lines: First Senator Clinton claimed the new math... Now it's neo-Geography. Our fourth story on the Countdown: the post-Pennsylvania push includes a new critique of Obama, one which evidently nobody in the Clinton camp realized applied even more to their own candidate. The new Clinton line: Obama has won the three states that border his own home state of Illinois and have already voted -- Iowa, Wisconsin and Missouri. So it would be awfully telling if he actually lost the border state of Indiana. Senator Clinton meanwhile... has already lost not one -- but two of the states bordering her own state, New York, Vermont and Connecticut.

ODDBALL: A loch ness monster on the streets of Manhattan, a fan gets nailed with a baseball and another fan drops a baseball.

McCain Mutiny: Senator John McCain is imploring the North Carolina Republican Party not to run a political ad that, McCain says, distracts Republicans, degrades our civics and seeks to divide the American people. Our third story tonight, the state Republicans' response to McCain... you are... who again? I'm paraphrasing.

Worsties...see below.

WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD: John Ashcroft, John McCain and a distasteful pastor vie for tonight's top honors.

Retail PoliticsPerhaps it's the latest micro-demographic. Senator Hillary Clinton already has the "bitter, blue-collar, bowling, beer-drinking, female snipers over 65" all locked up. So Senator Barack Obama needs to absolutely positively nail down the "newly energized, college-educated, young-men"... who -- in our number one story on the Countdown -- dress alike... and maybe even... shop together?

If you look at the three faces above the A & F t-shirts it sure looks like they might be brothers.
The Hilary camp's continual re-definition of how it is they are winning or even have a chance to win has a familiar ring to it. Like for example - Bush continually redefining the situation in Iraq and asserting we can win there. We have had 7+ years of deceit. We do not need a president that resorts to deceit to win at any cost.

Andrew Sullivan makes a great point discussing the Clinton-Obama contest:
"What's striking to me about this race is that it is the young insurgent who is still acting as the responsible party elder; and the former president who is behaving like a man who will destroy his own party in order to soothe his own sense of entitlement and ego."
It is very disturbing and upsetting that in this election the Clintons are making a mockery of democracy and the Democratic Party. Why doesn't someone stop them?

Keith, The wrong question is being asked.  It is not "what is wrong with Obama that he can't seal the deal" it is "what is wrong with Clinton of the 20 year Clinton machine, presumptive nominee Clinton that she can't seal the deal"?!
OGC... Official GOP chances
Keith - Fantastic show tonight!  Here's an idea:

Take a sound bite out of that clip of Cheney bashing you guys at the Radio & TV Correspondents Dinner of him saying JUST, "Countdown with Keith Olbermann," and use it as a promo for your show. Now that would be hysterical!
I was a Clinton supporter but your commentary has shown me that McCain is the only one worthy of becoming president now. Both Obama and Clinton should bow out as neither is fit to lead this country. Obama sounds more like a used car salesmen and is way to far to the left. Clinton has shown that she is too mean and hard with little compassion. McCain has the life experience and works better across the isle. Thanks again.  George Thomsen  Odessa Tx
I know KO said it's close enough to count as ten, but with 99.51% in, Clinton led by 9.2% (from the state website).  Awfully close to 9, don't you think?
People in Indiana (especially young college age kids) wear Abercrombie and Fitch shirts,  it is a symbol of wealth.  Many people throw large sums of money away on advertising that particular store,  it means you have money to throw away,  a status symbol so to speak.  We here in Indiana can be quite judgemental and snobbish if you wear the wrong store brand. I kid you not.... just ask Krista if you can find her!
why am I not hearing about Limbaugh's Chaos Operation? He apparently is instructing his "ditto heads" to switch parties during the primary and vote for Hillary to ensure she gets the nomination. The Republicans don't want to run against Obama.  Reportedly many of those new democrats in Philadelphia are a result of this ploy and they will switch back in the fall to vote for McCain. I'v watched a lot of election coverage and haven't seen this showing up on the air.  Why?
Keith,
FYI. On Oreilly tonight Karl Rove spelled (on a white board)MANUFACTURING WRONG! Spelled it mavufacturing! LOL  Thought you could use it! Keep up the good work! You have a LOT of fans out here!
Mike
