So here it is. Covering the big news, the small news, medium-sized and irregular, The News Hole strives to bring everything you love or hate about Countdown to the internets.

Hey, as long as you're here, take Rachel's advice...

On Thursday's show, guest host Rachel Maddow suggested viewers Google the phrase "Truman Commission." Go ahead.

This was in response to the Cooking-the-books-gate scandal in Bushed in which it was revealed that the shockingly large amount of money spent of private contractors in Iraq (as calculated by the Congressional Budget Office) is actually not shockingly high enough because it only accounts for private contractors working inside Iraq and ignored the tens of billions spent on private contractors in the U.S. on tasks related to the war in Iraq.

I did take her advise.  She is the best and I can't say enough about this smart, smart, clever, wonderful women who I am so glad is not only on Air America but on MSNBC.  I am looking forward to her election coverage
Keith you rock. Keep it coming. BUSHEEEEEEEEEEEEED !
OMG, Rachel! I read the big Truman bio this spring and I've been ranting to everyone who will listen (my husband, mostly) "Where's our Truman commission!" Why don't we have one?
Hey, Keith:  Why don't you count down until January 20, 2009 (when we are finally rid of Bush) instead of counting up since the declaration of Mission Accomplished (which has little significance now)?  After all, the name of your program is "Countdown" is it not?
MSNBC I like you to know that I LOVE KEITH I watch
every day,I also love Rachel and I think it's a waste
of talent not to have her own Hour that way I'll be
watching two hours of MSNBC. Thank you.
Just wanted to say that I think Rachel is a fantastic replacement for Keith..not an easy job to fill, but she is up to the task. It's wonderful and refreshing to see an intelligent woman rise on the basis of her talent! Please keep her coming!
Here's one for Keithy or Rachel (love em both) Maybe you guys can explain to many of us why our candidates have to discuss their faith. What happened to separation of church and state? This country is in serious trouble if this trend continues.
Keith, thank you for breaking down the presumptive credibility of the GOP, and then for bringing us (as my wife and I like to say our newest friend we'd like to have over for dinner--Rachel.
I attended the 1960 Democratic Convention in Los Angeles. John
Kennedy gave his acceptance speech at the Los Angeles Coliseum.
Why the fuss about Barack Obama using a stadium for his acceptance
speech?
