John Mcain canceling the debate is a politalcal ploy now that the debatting commitee says ther will be a dabate Mcain will use line "I rather lose an election then let the country go bankrupt"
I just found out the John McCain wants to postpone "The Debate On Foreign Policy" on Friday. Why? Can't he do more than have one thing on his plate at a time? The new President doesn't have the luxury of putting off important matters because of a crisis, The United States is in a mess and there is more than one crisis that urgently needs attending to. How can McCain cope?
I see that John McCain is trying to get out of the debate by saying he has to be in congress the rest of the week ( copout ) to straighten out the crisis he and the republicans created.
Why don’t you suggest that Palin take McCain’s place because the republicans say she is experienced enough to be president. ( bunch of crap) or move up the Biden - Palin debate..
McCain has the worst attendance record for casting votes in the Senate, and yet he wants to "go back to work" in Washington TODAY?! - a day when all the new polls are showing a clear advantage for Obama. How convenient.

And I got a bridge in Alaska I'd like to sell ya, Keith.
----------------------------------
You're taking McCain's place on Letterman?

Does this mean we can look foward to an Olbermann/Matthews ticket in 2012? No? How about Olbermann/Maddow?
Rumor has it McCain was interviewing with Katie Couric (holding Palin's hand?) when he was supposed to be on Letterman.  Looking forward to seeing Keith and David talk about McCain's pulling the ejection lever on his campaign.
Let me see . . Obama calls McCain in the morning to say they should work together on the crisis.  McCain moves to postpone his campaign and the debate, then returns Obama's phone call? Looks like McCain was making some kind of political maneuver in order to "look" like he's dealing with the crisis.  Oh, and 7 days after the crisis began! Can't they multitask ?
this is what you called "SCARED" and need a outlet to build up his percentage.  I hope it backfires....
Oh, for heavens sake. I cannot believe how afraid McCain is about this debate. Perhaps he's smarter than I thought. I doubt the American people are going to fall for this one.
I never watch DL but I will tonight.... Good Luck KO...as if you need it... Our gain for sure.
McCain isn't able to appear with Letterman, and he didn't get Palin to fill in for him? I'm shocked! Shocked!

Does this mean KO has to debate Obama on Friday?
All kidding aside, what's the actual Senate calendar for the rest of the week? Does McCain even hold any relevant committee positions that require his presence in DC before the bailout comes to a full vote? Does Obama? Nobody's really talking specifics on this.
I wasn't going to watch Letterman tonight because I'd probably have bad dreams listening to McCain. Now that Keith is on, I'll be sure to watch.
Also, Keith has said many times that McCain debates with himself when he screws up and then tries to "fix" it. Maybe Obama will have to do that on Friday (not the screwing up part) - the debating with himself part. Obama would have won in either case. I think McCain messed up big time by wanting to cancel the debate.
I second (third?) the suggestion that the Veep debate be moved up to Friday. If she's so ready she ought to be happy to debate. But seriously, I think this is McCain's attempt to look more important than he is.
In regards to McCain's call to delay the debate it reminds me of the music to the old Cartoon "Mighty Mouse"..."Here I come to save the day, that means that Mighty Mouse is on his way!"
How about Palin and Biden have their debate on Friday if McCain does not want to have it?
John McCain has called for the candidates to suspend the campaign and the debate to go to Washington to work on a bailout deal. Obama should CALL HIS BLUFF - lets go to Washington, work all day on the bill, and then have the debate in Washington at night! I'm sure it could be pulled off...the networks and the news media could easily get in place for national coverage. Obama could even give him an extra day or two and propose that the debate be moved to Saturday or even Sunday night. Obama is holding the royal flush!
Is there a way to watch keith's appearance on Letterman on line?
If McCain wants to do something good, so everyone will at least, begin to forget about why he "suspended" his campaign and canceled on the debate, then he can block this fraudulent bail out bill, by convincing the other Republicans to back him on this.
From the live feeds I heard on CNN today (Dodd, et al)...it sounds like McCain really threw a wrench in the gears.....
McCain of the 2008 before Sarah Palin pick was incompetent in my mind and eyes. With sinking ship that is Sarah Pailin he just helped himself to be exposed which was only a matter of time.
