Countdown Thursday: Go Big or Go Broke

The Fierce Urgency of Mid-FebruaryThroughout the transition -- the American economy plunging ever deeper into crisis -- The reality that the nation has only one president at a time...and it is not yet Mr. Obama... Never seeming more prohibitive... or surreal...Than this morning... When, in our fifth story on the Countdown: The President-elect, taking the extraordinary step of giving an address to the nation before he takes office... Warning that without swift and dramatic action... The American economy could be mired in recession -- or worse -- for years to come.

Second OpinionSome Republican bloggers are grumbling about CNN's Sanjay Gupta as surgeon general... annoyed with his reporting on John McCain's health records... fact-checking his reporting on Reagan's AIDS record.  Our fourth story... is not that. But now a leading Democrat... Congressman John Conyers... is asking fellow Democrats to petition President-elect Obama against nominating Gupta.

ODDBALL: A Panda that bites, and a bunch of doggies with dots.

Class DistortionSince the mainstream media has recently blasted Caroline Kennedy for her frequent use of the verbal crutch, "you know" in interviews... And since Governor David Paterson now says that Kennedy's lack of elected experience does not help her...And since a new poll shows that Kennedy's support among New York Democrats is lagging... It is curious, in our third story on the Countdown, that Governor Sarah Palin has now suggested that she and Ms. Kennedy have been treated differently by the media... because of which class -- her term -- each belonged to.

Worsties...see below.

WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD:  Brit Hume of Fox News, Michelle Malkin and Bill O'Reilly

Palin UnpluggedNo one has ever accused Governor Sarah Palin of being deep... But her personality sure is wide...And her ability to reveal huge and troubled yet eternally entertaining parts of it, seemingly limitless. In our number one story on the Countdown: you've already heard her complaint that she believes Caroline Kennedy is getting a free ride from the media because of the quote "class" to which she belongs. That was just the start of the Governor's latest self-immolation, supporting the contention of right-wing propaganda-producer John Ziegler that elite media bias kept the Governor, and Senator McCain, out of the White House. It began with the blogosphere and ended with me... But there was one continuous thread. Whatever happened, not in a million years, was any of it... her own fault.

Did Margaret Carlson just say "Anti-smart"?  There is no way that Chris Matthews would have let her get away with that one.  Come on Keith, help us stop the stupid.
So wait, Olberman is evil...why? He never interviewed her, he always made fun of her AFTER everyone else. And CLASS? I have more class then Palin, and I was in the Navy for a few years. I have no tact!
okay, I'm done Palin-bashing. ALL HAIL KEITH THE EVIL!

Hey Keith.

Big fan of the show. I host a radio show in Atlanta and we had John Ziegler on about the Obama movie...really pissed im off. He threatened to sue us if we aired it. Thought you'd dig it.

I'm thinking of a new group touring and doing comedy skits similar to Ceasar, Reiner, and Morris, such as "The Three Haircuts".  The group would consist of Palin, Malkin, and Coultergiest doing "You Are So Rare To Me, You Liberial Idiots".  They are sooo amusing.
Way to go Keith.  Now, I know, I was right when I did not vote for McCain because of his VP choice.  What a waste.
Actually, I think Ms Palin is upset about the whole "class" thing because she doesn't have any.

I know, meow.
Keith the Evil?? What a proud day indeed. Congratulations! Why is it that I have no fear where Governor Palin is concerned that you will have infinite opportunities to defend your title? Then again, it's not your fault right??
You know, even my 7 year old likes Keith, but I think she'd change her mind if she saw Countdown's homepage. Either there's something wrong with my computer or there's a lot of black screen on that site.  Anyway, has anyone tried to get inauguration parade tickets? They went on sale Friday 1/9/09 at 1pm, but neither me or my sister got through. Were tickets REALLY available? I used the phone & Internet and never got anywhere...
I would like to know what Mr. Olbermann thinks about this (I could use a good laugh) on Sarah Palin's reaction to seeing a photo of Mr. Olbermann,"she literally let out a shriek and, pointing to his photograph, declared, 'THAT guy is EVIL!' "--John Ziegler (Washington Post). Love the show, can't wait to hear his reaction to the reaction.
Will Sarah Palin shriek at sight of her new foe, the Keith Olbermann-like Bob Poe? http://tinyurl.com/8a4c68

She already has a 2010 campaign slogan: THAT guy is EVIL!
Do you suppose Sarah Palin would like some cheese with her whine?
Please STOP providing 'Palin' free air time.
PLEASE!
