On this date in 1930, the television and movie director John Frankenheimer was born.

And if you exist at the same lexus of politics and entertainment this show does, go watch any of his masterpieces; from the political science-fiction of "The Manchurian Candidate" and "Seven Days In May" to his docu-drama on HBO films, "George Wallace" and "Path To War."

Only don't get the wrong "Manchurian Candidate" with Denzel Washington and no visible plot -- 1962, Laurence Harvey, Frank Sinatra... thank you!

Let's Play Oddball!

"Seven Days In May" was one of my favorite "REQUIRED" readings in high school, in addition to the movie release. The movie made me proud of our Constitution, as President Jordan Lyman displayed such courage in his efforts at bringing peace during the Cold War. The "GENERAL", a.k.a. present-day President Bush & Company, was ultimately taken down by a PRESIDENT who not only defended the Constitution of this country, he recognized how precious it is. Ultimately, the one-track mind of the General, who attempted a military coup to take over of the United States, was foiled by brave men who UNDERSTOOD just how precious our Constitution was (and still is)!! The "PRESIDENT" portrayed in this book/movie made me proud as a teenager, and still today. For he was WILLING to both speak with and engage "the enemy" during the Cold War. His efforts at achieving peace by peaceful means, or AT LEAST ATTEMPTING TO, by peaceful means, made me feel so safe at a young age. Sadly, the actions of George W. Bush over the last six years is likened to the General, who thought he could AND should circumvent the Constitution and destroy the three legislatures of goverment. He, like George W. Bush & Company, did this by instilling fear. By instilling FALSE FEAR IN THE PSYCHE OF AMERICANS, as Bush has done, I say, SHAME ON YOU GEORGE W. BUSH!!
The preceding blogger is living in a plastic bubble and has absolutely NO IDEA what she is talking about. "Seven Days In May" and the goings on today in the modern world have NOTHING in common It is only those who refuse to see the bigger picture (hence the bubble) that write this type of fluff.
