If you would be so good as to explain to your viewers what a "neocon" is and what they represent, the ideology they stand for, then nonsense like CBS's creative edit of the McCain interview would stop happening. Period.
Will you? Can you? Do you even care to???
Deceit by omission is deceit all the same Mr. Olberman, there are moral absolutes, there is right and wrong.
I must confess my particular bias, i am an American... only tribe i have Sir. If i stand for it perhaps it can again stand for me.

I guess history now joins economics as one of the areas in which Senator McCain is not well versed. He accuses Senator Obama of wanting to lose a war in order to win an election. It appears that Senator McCain is willing to either lie or distort historical facts in order to win an election.

I can't believe CBS failed to see the importance of Senator McCain's comments. It appears that Senator McCain is now not an expert in history or economics. He has taken dirty politics down a different road by accusing Senator Obama of wanting to lose a war in order to win an election while he either lies or is totally unaware of the historical facts in order to win an election. He's not the John McCain he used to be.

Thank you for exposing this error - whether on the part of McCain or CBS. Through his insistent comments that media coverage of him is not fair, I think McCain is putting enormous pressure on the media to give him more coverage and to balance that coverage. I certainly hope that CBS did not edit out that confusion of the timeline to protect McCain from coverage of yet another gaffe. Although it would not surprise me. I would be interested in any comments CBS makes in response to this coverage. Keep up the good work!

I just saw a ~second~ error, a CBS News clip in which Katie Couric says that McCain states the surge was responsible for the Sunni awakening, and that the Obama campaign "claims" the awakening came first.

Is CBS News now going to put the responsibility of the journalist in sorting out facts on the Obama campaign?

By doing this, it has unprofessionally and disingenuously put its viewers in the position of trying ascertain facts based on their personal assessment of the credibility of the candidates and their campaigns.

the "NEWS EXECUTIVES" are doing everything they can to keep the election results from becoming a foregone conclusion way too early to suit their ratings hopes. CBS protected McCain in order to preserve him as a viable candidate, this keeps the race alive.

Keep up the pressure on CBS. My cynical side fears that other news outlets will not pursue this story...not because they favor McCain, but because it may expose said network's vulnerability on the practice of interview edits. Sen. McCain's use of inaccurate recollections of history in the pursuit of personal foreign policy is a major shortcoming.

about your Keith Number - as a scientist I am happy to see you using a number to characterize poll results. However, rather than adding the difference to the margin of error, you should subtract the latter from the former. Then the bigger the difference the more significant the poll result!

I am a conservative Christian Republican and I am steamed that Mccain would use Christian imagery in such a vile way. I not voting in this election period.
