Cheney was tasked with finding and vetting a VP for Bush, and after searching far and wide he found.....himself! Imagine his glee at the realization of all his dreams of power comming true, and the added benefit of flying under the radar as VP. Hopefully the tipping point will be reached sooner rather than later and impeachment will be put back on the table. Perhaps if there had been serious long-term consequences for the Nixon crowd (many of whom are still up to the same old, same old),we would not be in this situation today. I am not holding out much hope for the sudden regeneration of spine as far as the dems are concerned.

The 'President's Cluelessness'

Cardinal Richelieu returns to turn another great nation into a vessel for self-serving gratification.
So we know who the villians are.
Who will come forth to be the heroes and restore our once proud nation?
Besides Keith?

The 'President's Cluelessness'

This is the same thing they have done with EVERY department and agency of the federal government - hired and appointed industry insiders, lobbyists and cronies. They have turned our government into a fetid toxic dump.

Great picture BTW - fuzzy "decider" and in-focus Dr. Evil/Darth Veeper.

Congress - get some balls!

The 'President's Cluelessness'

OK - What are we going to do?

Are we just going to continue to rant about this? But I don't think the bloggers in here have remained silent with Scott or have accepted his prejudices by way of silence. Most have responded to Scott their displeasure numerous times. There is a difference between expressing displeasure with one's prejudices (not remaining silent) and giving continuous audience to one who is bigoted after having expressed displeasure with their attitudes on numerous occasions. No one here has remained silent with Scott, but many here continue to give him audience by responding to his posts even after acknowledging and stating they feel he is a hopeless cause. If he is a hopeless cause why respond? If he is not a hopeless cause and one wishes to accept the very difficult task of bringing him into the fold (changing his attitude) then confronting and challenging (sometimes using name-calling as he so aptly does himself) is not the way to do it.

Take a lesson from Martin Luther King. If he was alive today and felt Scott was a hopeless cause he would not give him audience but would move on into circles where he could make a difference. If on the other hand he felt there was still a chance he could salvage Scott, he certainly would not do so by confrontation even though Scott uses confrontation. Martin Luther would have ...... we'll I'll take it no further as I don't want to sound like I am lecturing....but you think about it and give me your thoughts as to how you think Martin Luther King would have tried to bring Scott into the fold.

Also, remember that those who wish to take responsibility and accountability for changing the world, or even the prejudices of a few either by way of setting example or confronting bigotry, that that person better understand it will require a thick skin because those they will be attempting to enlighten or change will in the beginning say and express some very mean and hateful things. I can't imagine what Martin Luther King must have heard throughout his lifetime, and in the end was even murdered by a bigot. But he knew that rather then confrontation "peaceful" (as you state at the end of your posts) persuasion (even with hateful bigots) is the way to go. So tell me, if Martin Luther King had not moved past Scott because he felt he was a hopeless cause, but felt Scott could be saved or salvaged, just how would Dr. King have gone about communicating with Scott on these blogs, the same confrontation that Scott uses, anger towards Scott, exchanges of name calling, how?
The 'President's Cluelessness'

Hey B.A. don't hold back! Tell us how you really feel about this! In one of the 2004 presidential debates, John Kerry stated, "Dick Cheney is the president of this country and has been for nearly four years." He was 100% correct and it's a damn shame more people didn't pay attention to THAT line!!

I believe many of us KNEW who was really in charge, which is why Colin Powell left office after the pseudo president and moron's first term. He couldn't deal with this ass (Cheney) either!!

B A - You are right on target with this statement, "if Congress and the Judicial Branch and Judiciary Committees can't find some way to bring this slime ball grub worm up on conflict of interest charges. Calling me a zealot or pro-Christian bigot is inaccurate as (and I hate reveal anything personal) I could most accurately be called an agnostic, with Christian traditions. No where, not once have I proclaimed a belief in Christian superiority, and I challenge anyone to show me an in context quote to prove otherwise.
And because people are very passionate about their beliefs, perhaps more so those who come on to these blogs, you will also receive responses that are not so civil. The same would apply and happen to many people here if they were to visit a site that was visited by a majority of conservative Bush supporters. If people would just tone down their comments when disagreeing with others, including you at times Scott, and refrain from anything that looks like a personal attack, then everyone could have a healthy convseration on here and share thoughts, ideas and opinions, even those that totally disagree on an issue. Forget the Muslim or Christian thing. One thing I learned a long time ago, that when discussing politics or religion, it is very difficult making a point without offending someone. People say they are open to debate about issues that are personally very close and private to them, but in the end most cannot keep the emotions flying to a degree even if another makes somewhat of a legitmate point. I knew what you meant when you inferred "at this time" it appears that Islamic fanatics are carrying out the majority of the terrorits activities around the globe. I suppose not being more specific and also inferring that Muslims across the globe are the most violent group is what set off this emotional debate. So think before you write something, disagree with a person's comments or beleifs if you wish, but keep the personal rhetoric down. Maybe it would help if everyone here would start out their posts (if addressing a specific person) by stating first, John Doe I enjoy your posts, but I disagree with you on this point..blah..blah. Finally Scott, it would seem to me that there are a lot of very intelligent people on here from all walks of life, but no one is a total expert on all issues and most posts are opinions. And many that don't have one or who can't support theirs by way of personal knowledge will research and recommend other sites where they quote another person who has written their opinion. We can talk about Iraq all we want but unless someone has served their and has personally observed the daily events and incidents, they really can't give a complete and accurate picture and what perhaps should or should not be done. And those who use name calling or personal attacks (whether initially or in response to someone who they think started it) are just lowering their intelligence level in front of everyone else here no matter which side they are defeidning. In any case Scott, those are my thoughts.

The 'President's Cluelessness'

Ya know if Congress tried to impeach Cheney, he would probably try to abolish them.

The 'President's Cluelessness'

PEACE!
You know I could not understand them either after all, Bush didn't go to fight a war, he got to drunk to go and his daddy got him out. He was a twisted little jerk who's main source of inspiration as a child was a series of Western novels written by a German author, the equivalent of the later spaghetti westerns.
The OSS files on Hitler's scheme to destroy Christianity are now declassified and available in PDF from Rutgers University.
Also the SS included a large contingent of Muslim volunteers who's job it was to hunt down both Jews and Serbian Christians.
While Harry Truman was a Democrat and former KKK member, I don't consider either of those things a factor in the tactical necessity of using the A-bomb to end WW2.
The Japanese had already begun to use bubonic plague as a bioweapon against the Chinese and had demonstrated that their quaint little balloon bombs could in fact reach the continental US.
They also had five large cyclotrons and an active nuclear weapons program, plus submarines capable of reaching our shores and launching aircraft from sealed compartments on the decks.

Ask the Islamic Terrorists where they get their inspiration. The Hadiths are what they depend on not the Koran itself.

The 'President's Cluelessness'

Paul C. Just as some people can still justify the invasion of Iraq there are some who also feel the bombings of H & N were justified. Sorry, I completely disagree.

Nowhere in the Hadith does it tell you its okay to take innocent lives. People are people and they'll twist facts to suit their purpose. The whole point I'm trying to make is that it's wrong to make sweeping generalizations. First I am no expert, and this is just a feeling I get from reading and listening to various news sources.

It seems to me that we will probably not have a constitutionally led government in a few short years. It feels like this administration is setting it up so that it will, after the next national threat, declare that some form of special session or marshal law is necessary to protect our country and will seize total control. It just feels like Cheney will take charge directly (or indirectly through his puppet) and the Republic of America will go the way of the Republic of Rome. It just seems that the seeds have been sown, Gonzales has compromised the Judicial branch, war mongers still emasculate the Legislative and Cheney has exploited the loop hole in the constitution and has trapped the puppet and runs the Executive. Only the people are left, but with the rise of warrant-less spying I doubt they will be much of a vanguard in protecting the constitution.

Empire America isn't coming, it seems, it is here. The Dumbing of America has played well into Cesar's hand.

Only a ground swell of public opinion now and not later seems to be our only hope. It seems to me the greatest threat we face today is the destruction of the Three, independent and co-equal branches of the Government.

The 'President's Cluelessness'

John Doe, Seattle, Wash. Young, courtesy of Wikipedia (which only confirms every history book I ever read on this topic):

"Hitler was raised by Roman Catholic parents, but as a school boy he rejected Catholicism and was influenced by nationalism. Apparently, after Hitler left home, he never attended Mass or received the sacraments.

In later life, Hitler's religious beliefs present a discrepant picture; publicly he often spoke positively of the Christian heritage of German culture and of belief in Christ. Hitler’s private statements, as reported by his intimates, are more mixed, showing Hitler as a religious man but also critical of Christianity. However, in contrast to other Nazi leaders, Hitler did not adhere to esoteric ideas, occultism, or neo-paganism, and ridiculed such beliefs in his book Mein Kampf. Rather, Hitler advocated a "Positive Christianity", a belief system purged from what he objected to in traditional Christianity, and which reinvented Jesus as a fighter against the Jews.

Hitler believed in Arthur de Gobineau's ideas of struggle for survival between the different races, among which the "Aryan race"—guided by "Providence"—was supposed to be the torchbearers of civilization and the Jews as enemies of all civilization. Whether his anti-semitism was influenced by older Christian ideas remains disputed.

Among Christian denominations, Hitler favored Protestantism, which was more open to such reinterpretations. At the same time, he adopted some elements of the Catholic Church's hierarchical organization, liturgy and phraseology in his politics."

And here is a bit of trivia for you free of charge: the internal structure of the SS was based on how the Jesuits run their order. Did you know that? Yeah, your "pagan" used the Roman Catholic Church as an organizational role model.

Here's the link, in case you think I was making things up, you know, like YOU do:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adolf_Hitler#Hitler.27s_religious_beliefs

Have a nice day.
