Well this certainly debunks the latest "argument" by Cheney and his staff, in addition to George W. Bush, via his support of Cheney's absurd self-analogy of being exempt from compliance with executive order. According to Cheney's latest criminal logic, his office now isn’t an “agency" either.

Sealing the fate of this absurd argument is indeed the fact that George W. Bush himself amended the executive order in 2003. As the article states, Bush did not use the word “exempt” in his executive order, and stating the order does indeed contain “implicit exemption” is just one more arrogant attempt at keeping any and all information from not only ISOO, but “we the people”.

With each and every illegal and immoral act this man has committed, I don't think the following is a “cheap shot” at all. It’s more than accurate!! "At the risk of a cheap shot, Saddam Hussein gave about as much access to UNMOVIC weapons inspectors in 2002 than Bush aides gave to the ISOO."

Congress, please, get off your collective “sit in silence” asses and rid us of this iniquitous lawbreaker!!

First of all, to the WONDERFUL reporters from the WASHINGTON POST who were responsible for these articles about VP Cheney, BRAVO! GREAT WORK! NICELY DONE! YOU ROCK! But, it's probably not so good for my digestive system to have to fight the urge to throw up so many times in the last few days - too graphic? sorry...

Anyway, on to my comments about part 4...the main lesson I got out of this is that VP Cheney's environmental "policies" have everything to do with making sure he can still enjoy his "He-Man" hobbies of hunting and fishing and protecting interests (business and otherwise) of his "home state" of Wyoming and the west in general. Am I close? Having been to Yellowstone National Park more than a few times, there's plenty to do outdoor-wise there other than snowmobiling in the freakin' middle of winter. It gets d**n cold, and why disturb the animals anyway?!

My thoughts about the situation with the Klamath River are a bit more complicated. In the spirit of full disclosure, I am a "farmer's daughter." My dad and my uncle farmed corn and soybeans on between 800-1000 acres that's been in my dad's family for years and years and YEARS. My father has recently retired, and the land is still being farmed on a rental basis by family friends. My dad and uncle, while farming a lot of acres, were not exactly an "industry" and always took care that their actions would not adversly affect the environment. They were careful with what few chemicals they used, practiced methods to decrease soil erosion, etc. Farming was my family's livlihood, so the choice between the fish and the water access would have been tough, to put it mildly, if my family had been faced with that issue. I have no idea if the affected farmers in Oregon were like my dad, or if they were ranchers, or if they perhaps had much bigger more organized operations that what I saw growing up. If you wonderful educational bloggers out there know more about the "farming nature" of that part of the country, please enlighten me! After saying all this, there is absolutely no doubt that VP Cheney put the his own interests and the interests of his "cronies" above all else. What a freakin' shock!

Thanks for asking Rahm Emmanuel about the Post story where there is speculation that his heart surgery will be used as excuse to get Cheney out of the way to appoint a new Veeper who can run for president. Although snickered at by Emmanuel, I'll wait and see. Sounds like Rovian strategy and with the crap hitting the fan about how the government has been Cheney-ized and his continued unpopularity - it deserves to have a least one set of eyeballs on it.

Second, it was nice to have that person laughing in the background during Oddball. I have missed that rather hoarse laugh for several months. Who does that laugh belong to? I know it ain't "ha" Matthews.

Chris - Count me in, as I stated earlier. Although, as a woman, I would not be allowed in the country without the written permission of "my husband or father", and they both must be Muslim. Okay, my ex-husband is, but that won't count. My father, sadly, passed away and was Catholic.

The Iranian laws are very strict about letting women in and issuing visas. Perhaps you have some knowledge of how I could enter the country? I WANT to go; however, the Islamic laws in Iran are followed to the letter. I went to Jordan, also a country with an Islamic government without any problems, no visa needed, just my passport.

Do you have any suggestions?

Chris - (2:21) I'm uncomfortable with the language you are using. Are you talking about a demonstration within the physical boundaries of IRAN?

Also, I really protest your using the phrase "U.S. Imperialism". The phrase I could support would be "this administration's doctrine of imperialism."

Lastly, although I agree completely with avoiding a conflict with Iran, frankly I want to focus on getting the current criminals out of the white house. That would help in your goal. However, any push that you succeed in making would dilute my goal.

Keep in mind what I think we both agree is the target - improving the US role in world affairs.

Help me better understand what you're after but focus, if you will, on helping understand why the effort you are seeking is best used your way at this point in time than in my way of removing the WH vermin.

There is only so much outrage that the public can handle at any one time. If we start splintering on specific items, we lose what I've already stated in my priority.

Independent, The one problem I see with only focusing on the current administration is that nine out of ten republican candidates want to attack Iran with Nukes ==> YESTERDAY <== Hillary seems to be no better. For dems to pull the language that would have expressly prohibited this trigger-happy admin from attacking Iran just says to me that they too are mostly in the pockets of the oil, Israeli, and military lobbies. Most all of them have no intention of leaving Iraq as that would leave us out of the oil loop. That is an imperialistic action to invade a sovereign country under such false pretenses for reasons we still do not fully know. I firmly believe that we were to attack Iran overnight, it could more than easily lead to a global conflict. Whether it would seem justified to do so or not, no other superpower could permit us to control virtually the entire Middle East at any one time. What do we do when Russian sends arms to Iran (which they would)? Do we accuse them of supporting terrorist and attack them too??? Given what Bush admin has already done, that is entirely likely.

And yes… the only way I see to physically break the American delirium and hate towards Iran would be to do the demonstration there… Pelosi tried to do something similar in Syria… to show that these people can be reasoned with and they are not our enemy. I commend her for that action!

I think that is the type of fear that is just plain myth – that they (the Iranians) would “lock us up.” Hirsh from Newsweek is over there right now and spoke of all the changes. He said during his entire first day there he only saw two soldiers and one was shopping at the grocery store. He mentioned that Tehran was not a city full of gorillas waiting to do battle with the great Satin, but a hustling and bustling city just looking to make their way in life. As always, we are spoon-fed propaganda and labels like terrorists and communists that have no sound basis. I for one am more afraid of WWIII than of being arrested in Iran.

To be honest, I’m actually quite surprised to see a few people willing to at least think about it if not actually go. I think it is the hardest thing in the world to see the wrongs of one’s own nation and the dangers it poses, especially when there is so much fear-based politics going around. I once had a thread on MSNBC’s message boards asking what the people of Germany thought after Hitler invaded the Rhine land and Poland… did they think everything would be ok if they just let things be?? I think there comes a time when we have to acknowledge the collision course we are on. The Bush admin is just the tip of the neocon iceberg that isn’t going to just go away after 08 if indeed they do lose which is by no means certain.

HEHEHE! Okay, I have to pass along this story and it falls in line (sort of) of the VP losing his house where it is-like that would happen.

So, my husband has his Navy job and his boss happens to live in the Naval Observatory, and does VP Gore. So we go to a party at the house of my husbands boss, and pull up to the gate of the observatory in our Toyota Camry and the guard asks for our names and checks our ID's.

Well, apparently we're not on the list, which of course disturbs my husband as he pretty much put the list together. So, these 'guards' have us pull over to the side, take our ID's and have a little 'discussion' amongst themselves. They come back and let us through with apologies and an explanation.

It seems VP Gore and the 'boss' were having a party at the same time. Of course I joked that I'd be willing to go to Al and Tippers house-believe or not the guys thought it was funny-the guys being the Secret Service.

Okay, had to share. I just think about Cheney and his hyprocritical wife sitting out there without a home, and I laugh.

This is a VERY long post so I have to set up the major point to begin with: I agree about the urgency of Iran. I admire your passion for wanting to directly address it in some way. Next, I am basing my assumption of your purpose of this proposed event on your last post where you say “the only way I see to physically break the American delirium and hate towards Iran would be to do the demonstration there.” My assumption is that you wish to change the viewpoint of the American public toward Iran. Is that right? What would this demonstration involve? Speeches? Signs? Music? What do you actually plan to do? How do you plan to measure success of such an event should you be actually able to carry it out? You will not be able to hold a public forum in Iran. Iranians are not allowed to hold public forums. How would you ensure that your target audience, the American public, sees any of the event or any results following the event. American media is not allowed in Iran. How would you measure success? It appears to me that you’d want an event to be held near your target audience. You haven’t thought this through or, if you have, I’ve not yet seen your information.

That being said, I would still completely oppose your plan for an event to show opposition to any American policy, be it ever so evil, if that event is held on foreign soil.

I'm only going to address this in this one post. I will not respond or participate in any further discussion on the blog about any event you would like to take place in Iran. Feel free to email me for private discussions if you’re still speaking to me. (Independent@281.com.) The reason for my decision on this is discussed in item 3 below.

1) I will not support any movement that uses the phrase "American Imperialism". Changing it to "this administration's policy of imperialism" would help.

2) Although I will fight to the death for the right of such protests to occur if our government threatened them in any way, I will not personally support any anti-American-policy protests held on foreign soil or those who propose them. ---Any protest---

Protest against anything whatever on American soil and I can support it but I will never support Americans protesting our government/country (even if I agree with the protest points) when those protests are held elsewhere. (I was an adamant anti-VN war protestor and I still wanted to string Jane Fonda up for going to North VN. I agreed with all the words used by The Dixie Chicks in their London concert but I soundly condemn them for using those words where they did.

3) This is the most important point. We as a nation can only rouse so much energy. This kind of proposal not only could divert the limited energy we have from the most important issue of running the current criminals out of the white house, this kind of proposal will splinter support. Guaranteed. We need consensus building across the aisle right now. Imagine the backlash if such efforts as you propose actually gets media play. There goes any hope we have of not being labeled as terrorists-supporters. It doesn't matter that the label would be wrong. What matters is that energy spent deflecting it will take away from momentum toward the goal – removing fascists from the executive office. Since these fascists are the reason we are headed toward a conflict with Iran, my goal is in line with yours. However, since your proposal possibly damages movement toward my goal, you are in conflict with me.

An example of diverting energy is, in fact, the discussion on the blog. If we are talking about this proposal, we are not talking about dealing with the here and now issues we need to address.

The root cause of our possibly pending predicament in Iran is the collection of the fascists in the white house. (I love alliteration.)

I not only strongly disagree with your proposal, I would prefer it not even be discussed on the blog.

4) Pragmatically speaking, if you think you are going to get any progress on this front in the next 6 months then you are hiding a degree of influence that I don't normally associate with run of the mill bloggers. If it will take longer than 6 months, then you hae missed the window, in my opinion. If you can get something of that nature off the ground in that time frame, then, dammit, why haven't you done something about habeus corpus, the entire gitmo thing, the other violations of the constitution before now. You may have some network you can hope to inspire but if you are as powerful as you need to be to get this thing going in any significantly quick time frame, then you should be doing other work than messing around with a little blog like ours.

Think of the energy and work it takes to do something like this. Think how much it would cost. Everyone who gives you even an hour of time, much less money, is not giving that time or money to defeating the fascists.

The other pragmatic issues involve getting a group of people there. Keeping those people safe. Working within that government’s laws and regulations to even be able to go in the first place. Don’t see it happening. We haven’t even talked about the cultural and behavioral minefields that lie in wait for persons not trained in those areas. The mind boggles.

You'll have to make a decision on your own. My position is that I'm not even willing to further talk about it for the reasons I just stated. I won't discuss whether it is a good thing, the right thing, or even an important thing because all such discussions lend this effort an exposure I wish to, frankly, quash.

Good luck on whatever you decide. We have the same wishes for a better and certainly more peaceful relationship with Iran but we have strongly divergent ideas about how best to move in that direction.

I'm not opposed to going to Iran (have been there several times but years ago), but I think this would be a good suggestion for our next President as this is who Iran will be dealing with in the future. The next President needs to visit the shops and colleges and local markets of Iran and the Iranian people with the Pres. of Iran right there beside him or her. Also, I wonder, although those particpating in a peace rally may have their hearts in the right place just how the Iranian people would react. Before the trip someone needs to do what Bush and Cheney and this administration did not do before invading Iraq. A thorough study and evlaution by those who truly understand the Iranians and their culture just how they would respond to a bunch of Americans coming over to participate in a peace rally. I don't know. They might think we were nuts. We might in some way be violating a particular religious rule or policy. Maybe, maybe not. Anyone here from Iran or with enough knowledge about the Iraninian people and religious beliefs to know how the Iranian people would react to such a thing? I agree with your premise that the whole notion of the Republican willingness to launch a pre-emptive nuclear attack against Iran has to dragged into the light of day as the despicable idea that it is. We have seen with Iraq the danger of waiting for common decency and sense to kick in when the neo-cons who push this stuff are using sophisticated marketing strategies to "sell" one war after another. Nuclear weapons have always in theory been an option, but the "mutually assured destruction" doctrine made it harder for American leaders to initiate these threats. Everybody knew that nukes were a bad idea. But now that we see ourselves as the only superpower, and now that the neocons see the limits of "shock and awe" and conventional military power, they can't resist ratcheting up the stakes. If the greatest military machine in the world can't make the Iraqis and others conform to our will--let's try NUKES!

But I agree with Independent that any demonstration on Iranian soil will only conjure up memories of the hostage situation that sunk Jimmy Carter. We would be better off "marketing" a diplomatic approach to Iran and developing a campaign to make the use of nuclear weapons a major issue in 2008.

Just bringing up the issue here is a start, and for that, great thanks.

To CA first, You make very good points about how we would be perceived by Iranian people and the need for some understanding of what NOT to do especially but my take on it is that this is not in any way directed at the Iranian people and I think they would be thrilled to see the moral obligation of Americans trying to prevent yet another travesty. Our invasion of Iraq crosses over into war crimes against humanity and anyone silent on this issue has some questions to answer. Not wanting a repeat of that we need to be more pro-active especially when considering the divisiveness of this admin.

Linda, I really think that it is important for the American people to revisit the hostage! It may have been an embarrasement but it did end peacefully and given that it was the end result of our own coup to control their oil who can blame them. If we start with the false premises that a single hostage crisis damns a nation to Amarican’s “eternal hate” then what about Pearl Harbor? What about the Baton Death March? Why are France and Germany Now allies after two world wars not more than a century ago? You see, the gigantic American ego NEEDS to be challenged with more sound reason to break the hate. Heck, we are even becoming friends with Vietnam recently so understanding that it does not take a war to eventually normalize relations will either be a healthy thing for America or we will go on starting wars and bombing counties into the stone age like Israel did to ALL OF LEBANON last year just because of a single border attack. We need to wake up, or we will continue down this path where it is not just the administration, but the American people who bought the who Iraqi war thinking THEY (AMERICA) could do no wrong. That is the premise we much decisively challenge!

People slammed the Dixie Chicks because they spoke out against Bush while they were in the UK. Oh my, that was such a naughty thing to do (insert eyeroll here). For whatever reason, Americans have this idea that it's perfectly okay to express our superiority while living or touring in foreign countries, but it's inappropriate for us to speak out against a man, his policies, and wanting to go to war for NO reason.

Overseas we have a reputation of being arrogant assholes, and I can assure you it isn't from people like the Dixie Chicks, it is from people that really think everybody and everything should be like it is in this country, and have absolutely no problem expressing that-WHILE THEY ARE OVERSEAS!

Before anyone tries to knock me down a few pegs in regard to how people feel overseas, don't bother. I've lived in two other countries, and have visited many, many others in the past 21 years-the last being four years ago in the UK!

So yeah, let's worry about what other people think about us elsewhere because we decry the hell our president has brought upon thousands of people. Let's continue to let them think that were all evil like this administration. As far as I'm concerned, that's just one more way of giving Bush approval for what he has done!

Chris: I am in total agreement that we need to be more pro-active so that Bush and his cronies don't rush us into another war (or mess I should say) in Iran. But a peace rally in Iran won't do it. It will give this administration ammunition to say look how we have to protect the American people. We even have traitors among us holding rallies in Iran. Pelosi had the right idea when she visited Iran. Her vsiit should have been followd up with other visits from other prmominent Dems. And no one could say anything about usurping a President's right to spearhead foreign policy without being undermined by others because this President (GW) needs undermining. But many of those other prominent Dems are too busy campaigning. Peace rallies are all in good, but how about we have some pretty big rallies here in support of ending our conflict in Iraq and using diplomatic approaches with Iran before we travel to Iran to hold them. But also let me say this. If Iran does not in some way or form back down from building nuclear weapons and continue to threaten Israel (even after we use all the diplomatic appraoches we can) we do need to take out their facilities, not by invasion, but by air. Then it will be back to the drawing board as to what to do about N. Korea. These recent negotiations are superficial. If we think N. Korea is going to back down from possesssing addition nuclear weapons we are fooling ourselves. Both Iran and N. Korea want to be armed to the teeth. And it would not surprise me if N. Korea started something in the near future knowing the US military is strecthed really thin in the middle east. If they invaded S. Korea whoi is going to stop them. We are not prepared to fight on two or three fronts regardless of our military power unless we were willing to use nukes.

As Ron Paul aptly pointed out, if we can live through an era with the Soviet president banging his shoe on the podium swearing “they will bury us” while actually possessing tens of thousands of nuclear weapons, we can EASILY live through an era where a country makes a lot of noise but neither has a navy, air force, a strategic missile force, or even just a few small bombs. Do you see the false delema here?

Furthermore, I happened to be walking through the room when the president of Iran gave his speech at the United Nations last fall. It was jaw-dropping!! Not one word of hate and a CONSTANT / CONSTANT reiteration of peace, world justice and love for EVERY nation and Every person. Thus, when given the ultimate opportunity to threaten the world as the soviets did, he brought a solid and heartfelt message of peace. Considering what the bush administration would have us believe I thought that a very welcomed message as I too was very worried about his past threats to Israel. I have no hate at all for the Israeli people and respect them every bit as I do every other race. But I for one think President Ahmadinejad’s words were just rhetoric. If we handle the situation fairly without such threats – OFFERING IRAN A GUARENTEE THAT WE WOULD NOT ATTACK THEM – I think they would come to the table like Libya did. To me – If I was Iran - Bush’s Axis of Evil speech would certainly be encouraging me to build as many nuclear weapons as I could. That is how the cycle works yet we seem to be utterly oblivious to how much we ourselves spur countries to look for such weapons to defend themselves from the “rogue superpower” we’ve become.

ALL nations have a right to nuclear energy and reprocessing. Argentina alone has enough nuclear materials to make over a thousand atomic bombs yet I don’t hear very much complaints about that and that isn’t even an all that stable part of the world.

North Korea is not going to attack South Korea. Those countries were normalizing relations and there were even initial talks about unification when Clinton was president. We can not just go around attacking people we fear. That is tyranny and will spark far more terrorism and hate towards us and rightfully so.

P.S. If you never heard Ahmadinejad’s speech at the UN, you should give it a listen. He did not just mention peace once or twice – it was over and over!

Isn’t that basically what Michael More just did with his new movie… showed how broken and corrupt the US medical system is (yeah… with doctors getting paid up to 100K a year to prescribe strong psychiatric drugs to kids as reported on CNN just today) by using the Cuban medical system as a perfect example? You know. I've been on this blog for a very long time. In fact, the only persons that I'm certain were here before me are Pam, CA, Todd NO, Steve - Iowa, and Scott NV.

There used to be long discussions filled with passion but never with attacks or sarcasm toward dissenting bloggers. Except for Scott NV, of course but he filled his role in the family as he saw fit.

I've tried to never backhand a blogger much less attack one directly. I've failed in that effort on occasion. Most notably not too long ago when I had to apologize for my behavior.

The tone of the blog has changed so much. It can be fun to be sarcastic and I find myself tempted to fall into that habit.

re the Irani Protest Proposal: I stated as clearly as I was able that I was stating my opinions. I did not ask that anyone share those opinions. I did not denounce anyone who thought differently from me. I did not make sarcastic remarks about anyone whose opinion might differ from mine. I wished and do wish Chris the best in his work.

Because I simply can't see myself adding value to the blog anymore, I'm going to say good bye.

It's, frankly, like leaving old friends. However, as much as a lot of us agree on our goals, I do not wish to become guilty of the negative behavior of the neo-cons we have judged so guilty. I think we are sliding into that behavior. I know I'm very tempted to do so.

Keep the faith and we'll all celebrate a new day in Jan 2009. If God is listening, we might even get a celebration of impeachment before then.

However, this is also a blog for Countdown, which quite frankly can be called vulgar with Musto, in the least, and immature with some of our rants, at best-Paris Hilton and the Coulter not withstanding.

The people that post on here are people from all walks of life from around the country-not unlike our military. As much as we'd all like to be 'one,' it's not going to happen.

Again I think it's a shame that you are choosing to leave because things have 'changed,' but the reality is that sometimes our frustrations with what is going on in our world have to come out somewhere. Maybe it's not always the most mature way, or the way you in particular may like it, but that's life. Isn't that what this is all about?

It is the Congress responsibility to start impeachment hearings on the V.P. Cheney and as soon as possible. He is not above the law. I don't care if they don't have enough votes in the Senate. They have popular opion with the American Citizen's and that is all they need. What in the hell is wrong with this Congress? They better get out there and do their job or they will be gone like the once before them.
Cheney doesn't care anyway. He know's he is a shield for the President and has set himself up for the fall long ago, so lets take him out.

You are the reason I've decided to leave. You are the very last straw for me. I find you to be superior in tone and backhanded in your posts. I find it insupportable from you. Go back through the archives. Look at some of your posts. If you are happy with yourself that is all that matters. I wish you the best. I cannot be my best when those I happen to support on political and cultural views are not respectful of my views or show respect toward others. So I leave.

Again - you were the last straw, not the first straw, and therefore not the only straw in my increasing frustration with the discussions on this blog.

CA tried his best a few weeks back to bring up the issue of incivility, intolerance, and hypocrisy we liberals tend to use when exclaiming against the incivility, intolerance, and hypocrisy of the neocons. I may be mistaken but I think you mowed him down pretty well too. I really can't remember that specifically.

You talk about your own personal investment in Iraq. I have 3 nephews I'm worried about too. I've just suffered a terrible family death. There is a medical situation in my family caused by the United State Military Medical system. That was investigated by Congress and the result of that sterling investigation, was "oh well, we couldn't find anything specific, so sorry".

So don't lecture me about "what its all about". I never said that the blog had to stay the same, I said I didn't see myself adding value to the blog anymore. But you would rather get in your last little speech to make certain that we all recognize how much you are superior.

There - I've broken every rule I have about my own behavior. If I stayed I would keep breaking my own rules.

Is is and HAS BEEN time, but I almost hit the floor when--during the first debate--non of candidates supported Kucinich. Perhaps they are affraid to find out how much power these guys really have??? I think on this very day you could probably make the claim that democracy died. What keith so plolitely refered to as having the deck stacked in the favor of the whitehouse essentially amounts to a complete coup!

I agree with others that the Wash Post is doing a great job of bringing the evils of Cheney to light. The Klamath river is very telling, but I can see how it is difficult from a farmer's standpoint. The final argument for me is that the fishing industry is now affected, which causes a plethora of other problems in the region. Who knows what other lasting effects that has on the ecosystem. To my knowledge, no drought has ever caused the farming not to come back strong the next year (I grew up in Iowa). The government could have found other ways to help the farmers in those areas, such as declaring a state of disaster, and isn't there farmer's insurance or something? Instead of taking water from the Klamath river, they could have provided for the farmers for that year. Time and again, science has learned not to mess with nature's delicate balance. We need a leader who knows science, listens to science, etc. Al, Barack, anyone...???

Sue, perhaps you should consider the recent escalating in Kool-Aid Krew posters in a different light. Have you considered there is an increase of their sort posting here because they fear the dialog here and know that their time is running out? They attack en masse out of desperation and fear. For instance, notice the timing of the zealotry fit. Convenient ATTEMPT to distract from the issue at hand regarding Cheney, no? That is why I kept that question in play. I wasn't just smacking down the bigots and the hammerheads as much fun as that can be. I wanted to illustrate that they were deliberately avoiding that subject as well. Distraction is a key tactic of the Neocons. Example: the Clinton Did It line of reasoning, name calling instead of addressing a point, etc. They don't want people to talk about what a bunch of obvious criminals they have backed. And isn't it odd that NOT ONE of the KAK has spoken in Sick Dick's defense yet, now have they? Will they? They have had plenty of opportunities but I doubt you will hear much. Why? To DISCUSS it, not rail like children, would only draw attention to it. Just a thought.

We all enjoy bashing this administration for it's lies and failures, but we are forgetting there is a primary season coming. Almost to the man each GOP hopeful is committed to staying the course in Iraq. One has walked the streets of Bagdad declaring it as safe as a walk in the park with markets open and people shopping. Americans need to wake up to the fact that unless we get these candidates to change their views we'll be in for at least four more years of waste to our Nation. This administration is like the mafia with the secrecy and loyality of it's members and will continue to promote it's polocies thru the next election. They are like blood sucking leaches that won't let go of this change the world mentality. Dick Cheney is a powerful presence that his party listens to and for the most part they have a great respect for. When you listen to interviews of GOP congressmen they all speak with high regard for what Cheney has done. The point of this is that this is an enormous challange for the Democratic Party to prove to the Nation they can protect,lead, and unite the People. They also must know that the mud has begun to flow and every little slip of the tongue will become a booming statement to their disgrace.
