AARGH!!! I'm sure this may make me less popular here than larry. However, demanding, insisting, nagging or even gently repeatedly asking Keith what color his eyes are is offensivly sexist. If a bunch of men went to Katie Courics blog and repeatedly asked her her cup size we would all be outraged. Women are just attracted to diffferant physical characteristics like eyes. I'm sure no one here means any harm but you should all know what you are doing is the same as construction workers whistling at the pretty girl walking by. It is okay to talk about his eyes all you want but when your comments are directed to Keith, it is the same as your boss asking you what kind of panties your wearing or why you didn't wear that extra tight sweater today. If you really need to know what color his eyes are, splurge and get an HD TV. Keith does the only decent newscast not on PBS, he should not have to answer innane and demeaning questions from a bunch of horny women. While most men don't necessarily mind being sexually harrassed, it is still harrassment until you get permission.

Jen in Illinois...you do make a good point; however I think that most of the women (or the five or six of us that are joking around about it) are just teasing. I personally don't expect to ever know what his eye color is, and I don't really care. I think that asking eye color shouldn't be compared to asking a woman's cup size. Eyes are out there for all to see and are nothing private.
Yes, Keith does give the only decent newscast on the air and he clearly does not have to answer personal questions-because he doesn't. I have to believe that he enjoys just a little bit knowing that many women find him attractive because he commented on whether or not Marge Simpson thought he was attractive during his Simpsons appearance. In fact, his whole appearance on the Simpons hinged on Marge having to watch commercials so that he could maintain his attractiveness.

I do respect your opinion as we are all open minded. Hope I didn't offend anyone, I guess I just am bored at work and had a lot to say on the matter.

So, if a Firefighter or a Paramedic sees evidence of a crime in the offing, they shouldn't tell the appropriate authorities?

If they enter a house to treat a heart attack victim and see a rocket launcher, or a .50 cal sub-machine gun they should ignore it?

It's not as if they'd be opening doors, drawers, and looking under beds and such beyond what they have to do to fight fires and help accident victims. All that they could do afterwards is give information for probable cause which would be reviewed by a judge either for a search warrant, or at an evidence hearing.

What if a paramedic treated someone inside a drug lab? Would you have him be blind to what's around him?

Sometimes privacy activist can get a bit silly over what they worry over.

I think in this case I side with the privacy activists. Although I certainly agree with you that firefighters certainly shouldn't be expected to ignore obvious evidence of criminality in plain view (i.e., your .50 caliber sub-machine gun), their primary mission is firefighting and saving lives, not criminal investigation. Instructing them to look for particular items that may be evidence of terrorist activities, but which also have perfectly legitimate uses, distracts them from the focus of their duties. When those firefighters start opening doors and drawers and looking under beds, they need to be looking for people in danger, not something to be used as evidence of a crime. That's why we have the police.

Anomaly and Sarah- I know you were all teasing. I deal with alot of salesmen in thier late 20s and tease them all the time. Once I did it and a gay man I was working with pointed out to me that it is harrassment. I was horrified, I still tease but now I ask first. Most men love to be sexually harrassed but they do at least deserve a choice and we should know what were doing when we dimminish a person to one of thier physical traits. Also I feel kind of responsible since everyone was happy believing he had blue eyes and I told Immortal Cougar I also thought his eyes were brown. Which seems to be when the demands about him telling us his eye color started. Thanks for taking all this with the grain of sand it comes with.

I live across the street from a fire department. Which came in really handy this spring when we had a small fire. They came into my house, even though the fire was on the side of the house, there was smoke in the house so they checked it out. I had a bag of an illegal, we'll say weed, on my coffee table. They never even mentioned it. If firemen are also suppose to be policemen, how many houses are going to burn down while people try and hide anything that could possibly be considered incriminating before they call the fire department.

It reported five Iraqi civilians were killed today by our troops, two children and three women I think. The point is this. No one will publish the truth. What's with the story on firefighters? Of course they should be on the lookout for signs of terrorism, just like they are trained in non-firefighting subjects like meth lab awareness.

That's not true at all. Since firefighters would be ther first to arrive at a terrorism event, they should be as aware of it as possible. The idea of fire departments only putting fires out went away in the 80's.

Jen,IL: No offense taken sweetie by your first post and your follow up one. As already stated here "The Simpsons" analogy was perfect. We were all curious.I work with guys in professionial bands. When writing their bios I always list age, height,hair color, and eye color.
Keith's bios list his age, his height ,his shoe size,his extra bone in back, his depth perception problem, his gluten free diet, his live in girlfriend's name and age, but there is no mention of his eye color.
I guess not knowing will keep us watching. But more importantly we all watch becuase he speaks the truth. After last night's reports I was so depressed and down,thinking what happened to this country?Where is the one I grew up in where if people wanted to demonstrate against a war they could, their rights to privacy where protected. If a president and vice president were involved in crimminal activities, the Congress had enough back bone to start impeachment proceedings. To find a little levity in this dark time about eye color was just a way to release a little frivolity in these discussions, much like us having to hear about Brittany all the time.

Bill that test was obviously designed by a liberal, and I seriously doubt any of the historical figures took the test. A liberal arbitrarily placed them, I think Hitler should have been placed high in the upper left quadrant. I was about one unit up on the authoritarian axis, and about 6 units to the right.

You know in math on the Cartesian plane the lower left quadrant corresponds to all negatives, while the upper right axis is all positive. I interpret that to mean you are wrong on everything, while I am right on just about everything.

Bill you need to stick with politics. The tangent of a function can be negative, positive, zero, or can approach infinity in any quadrant, or were you referring to Tan(x)? In any case by definition in the third quadrant the x component of a point is negative while the y component is positive. As far as imaginary numbers go, they don’t exist in the R2 Cartesian coordinate system kind of like liberals who don’t function in the real world.
