please look at Jack Cafferty's version of "fair and balanced" in the early 4 o'clock hour: "Someone will go on, and someone will, er, go home and bake cookies." This is put on as news and supposedly fair commentary. Why not say someone will go home and ??? you can fill in any other subtle thing on the counter side. Here's Cafferty, going for the O'Reilly award. Used to be you could expect some respect for journalism on both CNN and MSNBC. Creative News Network. Please don't let MSNBC go down the pander path; there are enough viewers to go around without sacrificing real truth and balanced reporting. Mr. Olbermann, here's a news tip: Look at the Senate Bill S.1145 (I think)the Patent Reform Act of 2007 (now 2008). As an excuse for ridding the system of patent "trolls", a group of large enterprises have sought to completely rewrite the patent system, robbing the inventor of any claim to substantial damages and rewarding and making substantially easier well funded infringers to prevail. Check it out, skip the first 20 pages it's very hard to read and those pages change from first to invent to first to file -- also playing to favor big money. Read from pages 20 to 30 as if you were the inventor/patentee...It reads more easily, and it gives away invention to the highest dollar. This kills the incentive to innovate. I am an inventor, and I know. Put this into effect, and everything goes to the richest not the hardest working, not the most innovative. If, as virtually all the leaders state, our future is dependent on American Innovation and Technology, then with this bill becoming law, there is no future.

Like the old Danforth Foundation used to say, "I dare you." to look into this. It's under everyone's radar, and it will tank the country. Good luck.

The FISA law IS NOT expiring. It's been on the books since the 70's and will remain on the books after this abomination of a law expires.

I also hope you rip the Senate Democratic enablers like Harry Reed and Jay Rockefeller. They are backing and pushing this law.

An equally large question, I think, is what to do about pollution in India and China and a re-awakening Russia, all of whom are running frightfully inefficient coal plants for power. Their (quite reasonable) argument is that the industrialized west got that way without pesky pollution controls' why shouldn't they.

Unless we jump to that conservative fever-dream, a world-wide big-brother state, major economic and social incentives are needed. China appears to be getting the message in light of it's air pollution problem; hopefully others will also. A US government not quite as beholden to Wall Street may have some influence on the world-wide pollution issues.

Well, Chuck Todd agrees with me regarding how the GOP will bond with Senator Clinton as the Democratic nominee! I don’t know if I’m happy about that or not; he’s not exactly my favorite these days.

I saw the Caroline Kennedy ad for Senator Obama!! That could be pretty powerful stuff!

The comment on the air about big brother was the greatest rebuke of the most corrupt and evil president this country has or will ever see. We need to see this man in jail in order to preserve the office of the Presidency of the United States.But lets get to the most important issue of our time.

Fourty percent of the American people believe him and Chaney were behind 9/11. Seventy days after 9/11 the Patriot Act was passed that took away our constitutional rights. The level of spending in the name of liberating Iraq pales with the fraction of what it would take to provide for better healthcare and educational opportunities. Just what is the greater good that the administration supports? Certainly not providing for the general health and wellbeing of those who cannot. Why should they? It is hard to say because sooner more so than later the have-nots will overwhelm the penal system... And who will they blame for that?

No those bad people with no heritage or history we should fear them... they are poor maybe they are the terrorists. I am sure they have good reason to be so.

Government doesn't need to listen in to every call any more than the IRS needs to audit every tax return. They only need to establish that they might be listening to yours to have the same effect. I highly recommend Michel Foucault's "Discipline and Punishment," specifically his comments on Jeremy Bentham's Panopticon, as a foundation for this argument.

Nice Special Comment. I'm so hoping that those spineless Dems don't cave in on this one too. However, if they do, it's only because the media once again made them do it.

The media has determined our candidates by determining who can (and CAN'T) be included in debates. Even the Repugnikants are allowing ALL their candidates to participate. It seems that the Democratic candidates are being culled out by the media - excluded from debates or virtually ignored into oblivion during debates by networks more interested in pitting Obama vs. Clinton (5% difference between the 2 of them in reality - they vote the same).

Outside of Countdown, I don't see the "others" in the MSM noting the significant need to stop telecom immunity portion of the FISA Bill. Too busy covering Brittany and other celebrity gossip as news and ramping up the rhetoric and "tension" between Obama and Clinton to see that our rights and freedom going down the toilet. Besides, there are nice moving pictures of Brittany and our rights and freedom don't have accompanying video tape segments.

Have the Dems actually been smarter than the American people - realizing that people will believe whatever crapola is put in front of them on the TV machine and are unconcerned about important issues unless networks provide information and pretty pictures to them? Do they figure "why bother to fight" when the media won't cover it and therefore, people won't care? After all, the pre-selected candidates, are all pro-war and keeping troops in Iraq. I home NBC replays your special comment several times. The only bad thing about it, is that this was on NBC. You can bet if it were on CNN, they'd replay it every other hour for the next 3 weeks.

Of course, CNN couldn't report their way out of a paper bag these days, and would have been unlikely to cover this half as well. :)

The Debate:

What a wonderful debate between Hillary and Obama. No matter who you support that is the kind of behavior (from both candidates) that can turn this country around. I was actually quite proud of both of them. Wolfe Blitzer should be ashamed in his few attempts to force the two into unnecessary heated arguements.

As to who won the debate I don't think it is necessary to go there. I think the Dems won and that's what matters.

I was impressed with Hillary's health care plans but before I would support her program I would want to know what those single and family coverage monthly premiums would cost those without jobs even after having received some help via a federal subsidy. Is Obama correct when he states promising that every single person is covered witout lowering premiums will not solve the problem if such people can't afford the preimium (remember COBRA).

I thought that Hillary got lost and even took a few steps backwards on her Iraq decisions. I am still very displeased with her vote. Trying to say that the vote was for expanded inspections and not a go-ahead vote to go to war did not play.

Overall I thought Obama appeared very Presidential, up on the issues and with each day appears to gain even greater confidence in himself and what he would like to do as President. I do think he is corrct in stating the Dems position against the republicans in the general election will be much stronger with someone who 1) was against the Iraq war at the beginnning and 2) is not connected with the past whether the republican past or the Clinton past.

Last night was one of those rare occasions when I could actually say that I'm proud to be a Democrat without following it with a wry, "most of the time". Good work from both candidates. A civil dialogue with genuine issues being debated without resorting to the crass. I have no great hope that the road of reasoned discourse will wind on further hence, but it was lovely to see for one night. What will help will be if both candidates can rein in their surrogates. Apparently Sen. Kennedy administered the human equivalent of my favorite discipline for canine naughtiness to Pres. Clinton - we'll see how long that lasts! And Sen. Obama's folks have dialed things back as well.

Krista, you're probably right - these two may never form a ticket. But both of them have sense enough to know that they NEED each other if the Democratic party is to prevail come November. And both of them are so unbelievably talented. Whichever one is the nominee, I hope they include the other in their administration. Otherwise, it would be a shameful waste of a valuable resource

When the New York Times endorses MCCain for the Republican nomination you know the guy is not the conservative some people think he is.

Ann Coulter says she'll vote for the Democrat if MCCain is the nominee. YEOW! And Limbaugh says he won't vote at all if MCCain is nominated.

All those who endorse John MCCain, including Rudy Giuliani, have moderate to liberal leanings on many issues and the conservative base is not buying into MCCain's obvious lies. And so it could be a win-win situation for the Dems even if MCCain wins the general election. Who really knows if he'll appoint conservative judges? And he won't end the war soon enough for the Dems but, then again, Hillary won't either. There is a growing number of conservatives who believe that a John MCCain nomination is a win for the Dems, no matter how the general election turns out.

The truth is, I don't know who was behind 9/11 - but as someone in the business of construction, I know that those buildings did not fall down due to the airplanes hitting them and Tower 7 could not have fallen because of a few fires. Never in history has a steel structured building collapsed (into it's own footprint, especially!) due to fire. The Democratic debate was held in the Kodak Theater in Hollywood and the cameras kept showing face after face of movie star after movie star. "Treason" is the only crime defined in the Constitution and as you can see, it is a very narrow definition. It was a convenient way for the Crown to get rid of someone who disapproved of any Royal perogatives.

You may express your opinion as to the suitability, reliability, accuracy or probity of Mr. Olbermann's comments. But to attach "traitor" to him is to greviously misuse the term.

Dear Moderator:
I notice the significant number of requests to you to update the posts, request info on why you don't post stuff, complaints about the seemingly inconsistent moderation and posting, etc.
I have a suggestion for you that will significantly improve customer service (which is what GE is all about, at least according to all the stuff that comes down from corporate to my inbox at work). How about having a page with FAQ's on the moderation process and policies. What hours do you work? What criteria do you use to include/exclude posts? Things like that...and I'm sure others here can come up with more questions that we'd like answers to.
Emailing Keith apparently does no good as I've never received a response when trying to contact him. I don't think we should have to contact Immelt to get our messages through, so you're the person(s) who directly affect customer satisfaction here.

My God, is there any end to level of depravity terrorists will go. They strapped bombs on 2 mentally disabled women, sent them into a crowded market, and blew them up by remote.

This, coupled with the report about military suicides makes me sick to my stomach. I had stated before, and so did CA, we must do everything in our power to help returning veterans with their mental concerns. They have given up everything, and we should return the favor hundred fold.

The government listening in on my conversation with my mother is rather trivial, when you compare it with what our brave veterans face, and the evil that is in the world. If that is all we have to worry about, then we are in great shape. Unfortunately, this is not the most pressing problem that we have. Renew the FISA bill and move on. If you have nothing to hide, then you shouldn't worry.

I can tell by your question that you're not up to speed on information technology knowledge. People don't have to listen anymore. There are software programs that do that sort of thing...all the time. They're in use in many call centers around the world. At the GE subsidiary where I work we use systems such as this to record and analyze customer service and collections calls. Calls are digitally recorded and stored for reference, Voice-to-text processing runs, results stored and analyzed for key words to enable quicker finding of specific calls and to obtain metrics on type of calls, etc. Scale this technology up a bit, push it through a small supercomputer with massively parallel processing, and yep, you guessed it, you can record and analyze every voice call that goes through any given switch (or all switches, if you prefer)...in real-time. Who has this technology? Uncle Sam, paid for by our tax dollars. It already exists and is in use. Same with monitoring data traffic on networks.
So, in answer to your question...Yes, the Government DOES have the "qualified manpower to listen in on every suspected phone call"...indeed, every call.
Now you know. "And knowing is half the battle."

Wow this ranks up there as an idiotic move. So the city of Berkeley is not stating the Marine recruiting station is not welcome and would be classified as uninvited guests or something to that nature. They are also giving Code Pink a parking spot in front of the station. I know most of you are against the Iraq war, and I can respect that, but to spit in the face of the brave men and women that fight for our freedom is a disgrace. I applaud the Senator's proposal to cut off federal funding of this idiotic city.

You have demonstrated more class throughout this process in my opinion than anyone I have met or discussed this with; although many, many have demonstrated class, you rose above the cheap shots and insults that sincerely had me leaning in the opposite direction than I am now.

I would proudly cast my vote for either Senators Clinton or Obama; however, through your actions; because of faith and trust in you, my vote next Tuesday will be cast for Senator Obama. Seeing a woman and an African American on that stage brought tears to my eyes; for I personally belief beyond ALL doubt, whichever of these two wins the nomination, they WILL become our next president.

Now, let's extract your head from your backside. If you have nothing to hide you have EVERYTHING to fear. We, my fellow vets and I, fought for our freedoms. We don't take them lightly. The government, violating the law with their co-conspirators in the telecommunications industry, has impinged on our freedoms. You may think your privacy is trivial...I do not. The current administration should be tried, and if found guilty, severely sanctioned (one of the few times I consider capital punishment to be acceptable). The telecoms who participated in the administration's subversion of our Constitution and Rule of Law should be similarly sanctioned when found guilty. Without law there is anarchy, and you really don't want folks like me participating in anarchy...we're well-trained and pretty damned effective. Rule of Law protects us all, both me and you. Or, just say so and I'm sure some nut job out there will be more than happy to put lead on target if laws don't matter any more. You don't get it both ways, despite what unCurious George mumbles.

As far as the WTC collapsing: Hmmm, maybe a building has never collapsed on it's 'footprint', however, I don't recall too many buildings being hit by airplanes of that size and magnitude.

Steel girders don't come up out of the ground already in the form of steel girders-they are bent into shape by HEAT. When the WTC were built, they went by what was known at the time-things have changed since the 1960's. Also, you people do realize that these planes were fully loaded with fuel, right?

Have you people ever heard of fuel dumping? That's what pilots like to do when they have to make landings too early! Why? Um, because of the potential of what can happen when they crash and the fuel cells are corrupted. Sorry, my years of being in Naval Aviation taught me a thing or two.

As much as I know that George W Bush is the worst thing that happened to this country, I won't buy that he and his administration are behind some covert operation behind killing thousands of Americans. If they were so stinkin' brilliant at doing all of this-why would they? To invade Iraq? Wouldn't it have made more sense to hire Iraqi's than Saudi's, Egyptians, and a Yemen to do their dirty work?

We can blame Bush et al for the many ills of our country and the ugliness his actions have caused, but I don't buy that he had anything to do with the attacks of September 11-he just isn't smart enough.

First of all...well said Keith.

And now to Lisa's comments. As I prepare to vote next Tuesday, I have become increasingly concerned at what appears to be a disconnect between what some in the Obama camp say on one hand, and what some in the Obama camp say on the other hand.
On one hand, we are told it's all about the future. We must move forward not backward. On the other hand the only designation of good judgement should be based on one Senate vote vs one speech at a protest rally? (Apples and oranges?)
On one hand, we need a President that bring change in the way our country does business. On the other hand, when comments, such as the one Lisa states, come up regarding Sen. Clinton as a polarizing figure; that the right wing noise machine will have a field day if she gets the nomination; we are suppose to assume the position and say "Please don't hurt me, I'll vote for the other guy." Am I to believe that the tactics that have been used against the Sen. Clinton for years are not on the list of things that are worthy of "change". That we need to keep rewarding this behavior to win an election?
I gotta tell you, the more I hear the more it seems that the "Obama River of Hope" flows ten miles wide, but only a quarter inch deep. It look's good from a distance, but when you go to wade in....it just mucks your shoes.

I do agree that we should protect those things that are under the constitution. But if we can provide the government with the tools to monitor terroristic activity, I am for that. That is my dilemna. Do I accept a, what I think is, a minor infringement on my rights, in order to receive intelligence that can stop those murderous bastards from attempting something like they did in Iraq today. I know everyone on here will err on the side of no infringement, but I personally don't think it is that black and white.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! I would suggest some other form of communication (smoke signals) to make your plans for the weekend. Otherwise, everyone will know where all the hot spots are and ruin your fun! :P

To put this in perspective, I’ve read that the economy has to add 150,000 jobs per month just to keep even. Over the course of the Bush administration, we have not kept even, and now we’re slipping even further backwards. Whatever short-term stimulus Bush’s tax cuts may have provided, it certainly didn’t last.

This is why you cannot trust any candidates’ promises that more tax cuts will create jobs. How about direct creation of jobs through an economic stimulus package that actually stimulates something. Or better yet, how about creating a few “green” jobs, for a change and help the environment at the same time.

If Berkley is doing as you say it is a mistake. You know I have been against this war in Iraq from the beginning and that I feel that this administration should be held accountable for the mess we find ourselves in now in this region. And if people want to condemn Bush and his cronies for this mees that is fine by me. But people need to be careful who they are sending messages too and how those message will be received.

Frankly speaking, I think the Marine Corp. is one of the finest organizations in this country and is made up of some of the finest young men and women in this country. My concern is that this closing of or the unwelcome message directed towards the Marine Recruiting Station is a slap against the Marines, not against Bush and his administration. It is a message that whether intended or not states to the Marine Corp. and to the Marines (some of whom are dying in Iraq for this country) that we do not want you. With messages like that I would not blame the young people fighting and dying as Marines today to say fine, fight and die yourself when and if you ever really need us to defend this country. Of course they would not do that. They are Marines. Again, if this is occurring in Berkley it is their choice, but it is a big mistake and it sends the wrong message to the wrong people. Berkley should be proud of the Marine Corp. just as we are all proude of our service personnel and troops. No one forces a young person to join. But once they do they should receive the utmost respect, including not being the real (or even a nondirect) target of people or Cities like Berkley.

Olbermann’s fisa rant was proof that liberals are governed by their emotions not logic, fact, or reason. Olbermann has opposed the fisa law in the past, yet now he says that if Bush veto’s it the result will be: “You will subject us, your citizens, to that greater danger.”

Of course there is a logical problem with his argument anyway. Bush says he will veto the fisa act if the telecoms are not protected from bs lawsuits from treasonous liberals. Therefore if Congress does no add the protection provision, then logically it is Congress who is placing the country at greater danger.

Only a blithering idiot could actually make the asinine arguments Olbermann makes, and only blithering idiots would think it was meaningful.

I don't believe it's jealousy for a second; I believe it's utter shock and disgust at some of the things these guys say --Bill-O, Hannity, Gibson and Gasbag Limbaugh are ridiculous in my opinion. I think you would agree Full Moon that Bill-O's comment that John Edwards was a liar regarding the huge number of our veterans, who honorably served our country, yet sleeping under bridges, was despicable. Nothing Bill O'Reilly says surprises me anymore, or so I thought--until his comment about the veterans.

Then when proven wrong, he's spun his "no spin zone" into a million tops!! The ratings mean nothing unless there is truth and dignity in the reporting; in my opinion, there is none of that with Bill-O, Sean Hannity, John Gibson or Brit Hume. I respect your beliefs and your opinions; in addition, your choice of networks to watch; however, I am convinced beyond all doubt that Keith Olbermann is both shocked and disgusted by the things that come out of Bill O'Reilly's mouth; I know I am!! CA, you go ahead and root for Eli. You should. I have had no complaints in recent years. If it were any other season, I would root for him as well, however, I have to admit that having my home team possibly end the season at 19-0 is hard to resist. It's quite an accomplishment.

The good news coming out this week for fans all across the country is the Red Sox didn't get Santana.

I assume we'll have another busy week next week after the dust settles from Tuesday's elections. Let's all cross our fingers and just hope for the best.

I have agreed that Hillary has been the brunt of many baseless criticismns, but I believe (and as many bloggers here have said for months) no one who voted to give Bush approval to begin this Iraq conflict should get a pass. Why should she get a pass especially in light that she has skirted the damn issue since the beginning of this campaign. She will do the same if and when she makes mistakes as a Presdient, believe me. As one of the strongest voices attacking and critiszing one of the most atrocious decisions made by our government I would have assumed that you of all people would never have considered voting for Hillary. She needs to be held accountable by saying hell no to her Presidential bid. Her judgement and subsequent vote stunk up this nation's reputation and resulted in senseless deaths and she is no less responsible then GWB and others who supported him in this catastrophe. I am not saying that she would be any better or any worse a President then Obama, Edwards or whoever, but this is one issue I will not bend on. As Edwards is out, Obama gets my vote. It was sealed with Hillary's lame and poor responses to this very question in last night's debate.

Pam, I appreciate your honest answer to my post. Obviouosly I'm no KO fan but I appreciate the
opportunity to post on his blog. Of course a difference of opinion is needed here to make it interesting. Too bad KO's show is generally one-sided, politically.

I have watched various liberals state many different
opinions on various subjects including the war, economy, immigration, healthcare and more. As a
conservative (some people have other names for me I'm sure) I still can see SOME of their logic though I MOSTLY disagree with it, but sometimes I agree.

I guess my point and question is do you give ANYONE a listen or even KIND OF LIKE any conservative who has a radio or television show? Do you AGREE with ANYTHING a conservative host might say OR do you pretty much despise ALL CONSERVATISM? I really can't think of anyone I don't like completely except KO and that could change. He's pretty much getting his
reputation for trashing conservatives just as Rush trashes liberalism. There's a strong entertainment
factor to be accounted for too.

So Pam, any conservative favorites? What say you?

Why? You may ask. Because the City had Decided to Harass the Military Recruiters.

"This is a slap in the face to all brave service men and women and their families," DeMint said in a prepared statement. "The First Amendment gives the City of Berkeley the right to be idiotic, but from now on they should do it with their own money."

The instances you cite seem to me to be more the exception than the rule. Having been involved in panel discussions and as a teacher, I know that "I"ll have to think about it" is sometimes a b.s. way of shutting down the dialogue rather than moving it forward. I have used it to shut down a line of questioning I wasn't prepared to deal with when I presented a conference paper. It's a standard technique.

I think the notion that the host of a show who is setting forth his own views can also act as moderator of a debate with guests on the topic is a bit ridiculous. As an English instructor currently responsible for a discussion section, I watch a show like Hardball and tend to think "bad classroom management." I find myself longing for a new variation on the mute button and DVR feature that would allow me to hear the opinions expressed in turn instead of one on top of the other.

As someone else here noted (and forgive me for not scrolling back and looking for the specific item), there is not absolute agreement between KO and his guests. If you pay attention, he often asks a question that involves putting forth a hypothesis that is either dismissed or modified by his guest.

Sometimes the distinctions between points of view are subtle. I can tell you a lot about that right now. I'm retooling my dissertation because someone published a book that covers my topic and I have to hone my argument to clarify the distinctions between our points of view. Chaucer would call it finding "space to speke." (Frankly, though, in my more desperate hours, I'd just like to go shake the guy and ask him why he couldn't have held off publishing the damn thing for another year.)

Anyway, I will concede your point that Countdown is not a fair, honest, exchange of ideals and points of view, but only because I believe that such a show is a bit of a pipe dream.

I am a Licensed Acupuncturist, in practice for over twenty years. There is an ancient tradition in Japan of Blind Acupuncturists. Sight is obviously helpful in performing Acupuncture, but touch is more important, as well intuition. In fact, Acupuncture is one profession that is available to blind people in Japan today.
So, for that woman on whom you reported: I highly recommend, if she is qualified and talented, and having passed her licensing exam, that she be able to practice. I would certainly go to a blind Doctor of Oriental Medicine if they were highly qualified and talented.

You are correct. I have been critical of all Dems for being weak-kneed when it came to caving into Bush and continuing to fund this war, including Obama. He gets no pass on this particualr issues like Hillary and the rest of the Dems. But like we have discussed, whereas Obama had the proper judgement to understand what would result from an invasion of Iraq Hillary did not. In my mind Obama had and has a better understanding of other people around the world and how they might react to US aggression. This does not necessarily require experience as much as it does having empathy and the ability to look through the eyes of others. Hillary obviously did not have or use these abilities when voting for the war. And although both have been weak in battles with this administration and their subsequent votes to continue to fund the war, Hillary exhibited very poor judgement and a lack of understanding as to how people in this part of the world would respond to an invasion / occupation from the beginning. And no other candidate is claiming with such degree as Hillary that she is the only candidate who would be ready from day one to take on the Presidency and foreign policy.

Sorry Pam, but you can't defend Hillary's serious lapse of good judgement when she voted to approve this war with Obama's subesequent votes to fund our troops after the war had started. It does not play.

Concerning my thoughts of Jeb Bush running for president. (Original thought: Feb 1, 6:36 PM post)

My second post of Feb 2, 9:44 AM was simply a dream I had about Fort Lauderdale where I spent too many spring breaks. Bill Clinton made trouble at the topless doughout shop and the Reagan look-a-likes said they were from Atlantis. Everyone was shouting
for Jeb Bush to be president.

When I originally brought this up Newshole blogger Anna Molly asked for an appropriate theme song for Jeb so I made up the part about John Sebastian singing "what a day for a daydream." It's appropriate because a Jeb Bush White House would
be a daydream and, after all, my dream happened
during a daytime nap, which is something that also never happens ... I NEVER nap, even on off days.

Of course, when I really think about it, a George
Bush Sr., George Bush Jr. and a Jeb Bush
presidency would make one heck of a trifecta. But only in my dreams.

The reason Bush/Chaney cannot be tried for treason is the same reason they used Vorizen and ATT to spy on us, blackmail. This son of CIA director, Warren Commisioned member appointed (Gerald Ford) Bush Sr., learned from daddy along time ago that you get dirt on everyone you can as standard operating precedure. Everyone - politicians, entertainers, musicians, writters, judges, in short, anyone in the public eye. J Edgar Hoover did it with great success and the CIA has been doing it since it's inception in 1948. Then you can get away with anything. Why do you think Jr. always has a smirk on his face? He knows congress can't do anything to him and acts accordingly!

But justice will prevail. As far as how many people were in on the obvious 9/11 inside job, word is the Mossad planted the explosives and went home. They would never talk their 30 billion a year aid insures that. And the people with power that know these things don't want Antrax letters delivered to their house. These murderers believe in the mirror they are patriots, how else cound they live with themselves?

And thanks David Molinero for pointing out that Antrax is bacteria, I'm sure Dashele and Lehey appreciate the distinction. They just better watch out for all those sheep farmers out there that know how to navigate anti-constitutional legislation like the Patriot Act.

And yes, if any other Dem who had voted for this war was still in the race I would be criticzing them as well as I have Hillary. To be frank Pam, it is my opinion your excessive defense of Hillary is because she is a woman, not because she is a Clinton or a Senator from New York. Your accusation that I would not hold Biden or Dodd just as responsible for their votes on Iraq tells me that you are attempting to say that I am biased against Hillary's gender (which is far from the truth) and further tells me that part of your unobjective defense of Hillary is because she is a woman, and that you are defending Hillary excessively because she is a woman.

speaking of truth to power - which is why I am both uzzled and dismayed that you find it impossible to make any comment about the Sybel Edmonds articles recently in the UK's The Sunday Times.

In fact not one main strean media coporation in the US has touched it.

Is someone leaning on you? If so who. If not, then what reason do you have for not touching this story.

As Phil Giraldi states in the Huffington Post:

"Since the recent Sunday Times articles, her story has been brought to the attention of news editors at MSNBC's Keith Olbermann, to PBS's Bill Moyers, to The New York Times, The Washington Times, and to both ABC and CBS news in an attempt to arouse some interest. I've been a fan since your days at ESPN and especially love you special commentaries.
However, the election coverage, by all the networks - yours includes - has been terrible!!
All we hear is who is ahead, who is surging, who has the support of whom, etc.
Where is the discussion of where the candidates differ on the ISSUES!!!
This is what voters need to know. What are the differences between Barack & Hillary, John, John & Mitt?
Voters should be informed on candidates positional differences so they can make INFORMED decisions in the voting booth.

PLEASE, inform us on the issues not the process!

A former Kucinich supporter (you rarely mentioned his positions - how can any candidate get noticed when very few know where they stand?!) who is now going to support Obama at least in part because Clinton VOTED FOR & STILL supports the war in Iraq and also because she can't win in November as she is too disliked by too many & we can't survive another Republican administration.
