re: guilty verdicts and Joe Wilson
In summation of your show with Joe Wilson, please let him know, that I would be willing to be the front man for a class action lawsuit, bought by The People of the United States vs; The Vice President. To this end we would seek to prove; the true crime and fraud,, perpetrated against, not only Joe Wilson, but the American People, who were sublimated with the;,"with us or against us" slogan, questioned our patriotism, while they manipulated data that brought us to war. The crime against the brave men and women that have fought valiantly, without question. It is now up to us to get the answer's.
We all (Americans)appreciate you and your colleagues quest to get to the bottom line, truth of these life/lies altering political shenanigans, that really do affect our lives, and matter. Thank you,{Keith Olbermann}...in advance for your vigilance and patriotism. L.Everett

Turned on your show about 5 minutes into it and sure enough, I was right, again. Flipped back to O'Reily for the next 45 minutes, commercial, back to your show for the last few minutes, to my dismay, you were still hammering Libby down the people's throat! I immediately called 2 people that I know that watch your show on a regular basis (libs) and they both said they changed the channel after 10 minutes, wasy too much Libby. In other words, it's known as a "non story." A whole hour on a "non story?" You forgot to mention the post reporter on the jury (shocker) was also Russert's neighbor, a minor point hardly worth mentioning.

Joe Wilson: Time for Bush/Cheney to Come Clean

<font style="font-family: Verdana;" size="2">Jeff -

I'm sure Bill Maher's joke about the Vice President is more important than the VP's chief of staff being convicted of a felony, and going to jail for covering up the dirty tricks the White House used to take us to war (get 3,000 people killed, tens of thousands wounded). You're right, I think putting Bill Maher through the 'No Spin Zone' was time better spent. If you wanted some 'hard news', you could have tuned into Paula Zahn and caught their report on a transvestite judge. A whole hour on Libby? What about today's Congressional testimony from the fed prosecutors fired for apparently blatantly political purposes, including one prosecuting Republican officials in the largest alleged Congressional scam in US history and others who felt (quite inappropriately) pressured from members of Congress to speed up investigation of Dems before last year's elections, and the revelation that their previous performance evaluations did not support their dismissals? What about the follow up to Congress's investigation of the scandalous way our returning wounded soldiers are being boarded and treated? What about the nine US soldiers who lost their lives today in the fustercluck of the Iraqi meat-grinder? Clearly this administration has too much scandal and failure for this show to cover in a mere hour. He is such a talented multi-tasker that he can jump between channels and catch it all. To bad when viewing O'Reilly the TV didn't swallow him up and spit him out to join O'Reilly in that Fox galaxy far, far away. I mean far away. Keep nailing them Keith, hard. If this were a democratic administration I bet your bottom dollar oh Fox would not only have O'Reilly and Hannity spending their entire hour slamming the administration, but would also devote an additional 4 hours each night to the same story. One thing concerns me.

I wish you, other writers/media and the US Congress would not omit (forget?) that the "outing of Plame" led to the exposure of Jennings & Brewster the business/employer and cover company for CIA covert operations throughout the Middle-East.
Basically Cheney designed to destroy the CIA ME secret operation and take it over himself because he (is an obsessed Bill Casey-wannnabe lunatic) couldn't place anyone above him at VP.
So as VP he appointed himself quasi-intelligence director and dumped the CIA.
Furthermore, as far as I understand, the CIA never acknowledges agents killed, arrested, missing, tortured or otherwise compromised. So we may never know whether Cheney exposure of Jennings & Brewster actually led to deaths or other tragic consequences for the USA's covert agents overseas.
Cheney's failure and incompetence in this regard is what led to all of these wars and foreign policy disasters now haunting America.
In the internet world cloak & dagger crap is in the past.

I wish the American public were told more about Jennings & Brewster and less about Plame. Plame seems trivial to many and the GOP corporate media and apologists downplay her position all the time and question whether she was even a real agent etc.

This is an aspect of the case paid too little attention. And talk about crime!

Libby did not act on his own and he got the information and detailed orders directly from Cheney.
Cheney's arrest, detention and prosecution should not even require further investigation.
There is no bail for espionage and treason.
This is easily THE most serious crime ever directly committed by a Vice-President, or adminsitration of the USA.
Watergate pales in comparison. Nixon didn't actually harm anyone.

Well, Chuck, would it help you to further rationalize Bush’s deplorable performance by bringing in activity by other predecessors, such as Nixon’s. Perhaps you have to weigh the results of his predecessors’ actions to the results Bush has wrought, not just country-wide, but world-wide.
(1) I know it hurts for those who made the decision that Bush was the man to be president and voted for him. (2) I know it hurts to have been a devout Republican, but now cannot ignore the facts. I fall into category (2), and I am grateful that I do not have to hurt because I fall into category (1).
What it appears now not just possible, but very probable -- Bush/Cheney were responsible for blowing the identity of a CIA operative. That is a felony. I believe Reagan was partly responsible for getting that appalling and dreadful act identified as a felony.
I would ask – does that make Bush/Cheney less guilty because previous presidents made mistakes?

An operation some twenty years in the making, posing as energy financiers, in order to root out where money was coming from (and going to) in the international WMD trade. Oh, the irony! How many America and foreign ally operatives were exposed when Novak stupidly wrote about Brewster Jennings?? How can we convince other nations and individuals to put their trust in our intelligence operations when our own political leaders so wantonly disregard their safety and cover. This goes way beyond Plame and way beyond Scooter, and it eats at the heart of the matter - that this administration DOES NOT have the best interests of America at heart, but rather their own economic and power gains. I encourage the outstanding mainstream reporter Keith Olbermann, whose transcripts I read regularly, to get in touch with people like Randi Rhodes and Thom Hartmann, have them on the show, they are superbly well informed and articulate on these matters.

Joe Wilson: Time for Bush/Cheney to Come Clean

J.R.Nitschke - I believe the "academic theory" mentioned by Mr Wilson pertains to the Straussian "Project for a New American Century" (PNAC) cabal that planned to attack Iraq back in 1998 and immediately moved towards that end when the group took control of the WH in 2000. I've enjoyed reading the news here, and the replies, while not all agree, have been civil and thought provoking. What an intelligent bunch of viewers! CA in Tuscaloosa, I loved your post. You said it right on. Bush probably IS a fun guy, but he's a terrible president. Time after time, he proves this. What amazes me is the division in this country. We need to do aways with DEM and REP, and just have of the people, by the people and for the people. I would like to take a big roll of duct tape and wrap it around Sean Hannity's mouth just once. Wouldn't that feel good? Maybe to Bill-O, right after giving him a big slug of his own kool-aid. Thanks for the great blog, info, and the replies are wonderful. It's the same old wine but perhaps now in clear bottles. We are at the cusp for the future of humanity. The internet has allowed for the wide disemination of truth and is exposing both the current as well past methods of the global elite to rape and pillage. Using false pretenses, such as Iraq's WMD, to generate FEAR and support for wars has been the MO of the elite forever. The truth on Gulf of Tonkin, the sinking of the Maine and the Lusitania plus our deliberate provocation and foreknowledge of the attack on Pearl Harbor are just a few examples. How about the censure and fine of Senator Prescott Bush, Poppy's father, for finacial support of the Nazi war machine before as well as DURING WWII.

Our positioning of THREE carrier groups off of Iran will provide a perfect opportunity to either provoke Iran or falsely implicate them in an attack. War with Iran will be a disaster for the US and the the world. Tensions with China and Russia are high already.

Why is the US at war? 911 provided the perfect excuse and was an amazing psy-op. The 911 commission report is so full of holes and anomalies that it is beyond ridiculous.

As difficult as it is to swallow, it is clear that 911 was an INSIDE JOB and the evidence is massive to support that.

This crime and its aftermath of wars is so dastardly that the awakening of enough people to seeing this created MATRIX is essential to stopping this game before it's too late.

Please support an unbiased investigation of 911 NOW!

The intentional outing of Valerie Plame destroyed not only her life but also any and all hope that Brewster Jennings would be able to continue their mission, which was to identify and track the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. But isn't that why we went to war with Iraq, and soon Iran? This administration never cared about WMDs. They have their own agenda. Outing a covert agent, however you slice it, proves this beyond a doubt.

Supporting this behavior shows a lack of integrity and compassion for any and all who have paid the price. Perhaps it's time to use the "PATRIOT ACT" against this administration... or is that only reserved for our citizens? A few years at Gitmo, a little torture, and a nice military tribunal that they claim is so fair...

His ability to neatly lay out the many issues typically buried within the "spin" cycles emanating from the Bush White House laundry room is unparalleled. This ability arises from a keen mind and a well-rounded education.

It surprises me not in the least that someone of Jeff's obviously blunted powers of ratiocination might not understand that (a) Perjury is a serious offense, (b) Plame's exposure destroyed investigations into the illegal sales of nuclear material and caused the deaths of American friends and agents working to get nuclear weapons out of the hands of terrorists and (c) since the perjury was committed to obfuscate the role of the Vice President of the United States, it is a very important story that should lead to intelligent Americans demanding a complete investigation into Cheney's behavior.

You see, Jeff, dismissing thoughtful commentaries that you don't understand as "lib" talk reveals a greater deficit in you than in those that you denigrate. The world just doesn't fall into neat categories of "us" and "them" or "good" and "bad." Most issues are far more complex than that and do require discussion and contemplation from many diverse perspectives. That is what Keith O provides that Fox does not. Fox is the Kaptain Kangaroo version of news reporting. MSNBC is for grownups.

Joe Wilson: Time for Bush/Cheney to Come Clean

Cheney is nearly as evil as Richard Nixon, and is no less deserving of impeachment than Nixon for misleading our great country into an unnecessary war. stop acting like you are the only person who has participated in the military. I come from a long line of military men, who have also fought and died for this country. Stop acting like we owe you by agreeing with your own politics.

and also, your comment on censorship is hilarious. if your whining was at all justified, would your comment make it through? Would Jeff's and all your fellow right-wingers? Oh..that's right. Your comments came through. Poor you. Critics are censored!! LOL

As for your Clinton comment -- okay let me get this straight. He commits perjury -- lies about the fact that he had an extramarital affair. Why exactly did this become a GOVERNMENT INVESTIGATION!?

And..then Libby, whom you call unimportant (though, the story is obviously important enough for you to trek over to this blog and comment on it), aided in revealing a CIA operatives name. Which was classified. Because her husband questioned this administration and the war.

Lying about an extramarital affair -- which most cheating men/women do...warrants impeachment and a government investigation. When really, he should've just been at the mercy of his wife.

And exposing a CIA agents identity to the world, ruining an operation and basically ruining her career as an operative.

those are totally the same, and totally comparable.

seriously, scott. I get tired of defending my heroes, the framers of our Constitution, from folks who make such tired arguments as yours. Remember - "the mass of the citizens is the safest depository of their own rights." That was president #3, T.J., the greatest of them all. So, in his defense I say to you, Scott, and those like you..."I protect my rights to free speech, I and my fellow citizens alike. I do this by the free exercise of those rights, in particular, the freedom to criticize my government. I do not need anyone in uniform acting as a proxy wing of the current administration to protect them for me."

Re Keith's coverage of the Libby trial -- I am appalled at Scott, San Antonio's words with which he describes Libby: "an unimportant man who committed an unimportant offense....." My husband, too, devoted over 20 years in the military to protect our Constitution and all else that we hold dear. He, however, has kept abreast of the facts and recognizes how totally off-base those comments were. It may be that Libby and his alleged personal offenses of lying, etc., may not in themselves deserve a lot of attention. However, when his trial brings to light the possibility that the Vice-President, and, yes, even our President, could have committed a despicable offense – a felony -- Man, that's Important. The offense – “outing” a CIA Operative. That is what Keith is so properly bringing to the public. That directly ties to the lies perpetrated by the admiistration to scare the country into going along with an unnecessary and dreadful war. Hopefully, those listening/reading will get the big picture.

The following is an exact copy of an e-mail I sent yesterday apropos of the severity of the leak of Ms Plame’s operation.

"The 'Intelligence Game' is a serious one and very important for our country. For those who might not be familiar with the possible far-reaching impact of ‘blowing the cover’ of a single CIA operative – the {following} blogger comments may provide some clarification. Perhaps you could forward this on and more folks might recognize the enormity of Bush/Cheney's depraved desire for revenge on someone (Joseph Wilson) because he told the world of their lies -- he 'blew their cover'. "

The comments I am referring to are above on this web page -- those of Jason Call, Albuquerque NM (Sent Thursday, March 08, 2007 2:59 AM) and kevin sysyn manchester NH (Sent Wednesday, March 07, 2007 3:26 PM).
Please read them, as well as some of the others, so the big picture will become clearer.
Keith Olbermann is serving his country very well by being brave enough to speak out when our country is led by a would-be-king and the members of his cabal .
Remember, some lies hurt no one but the liar. This administration’s lies have caused the death of over 3000 of our revered military, the wounding of thousands more, and the killing of thousands upon thousands of innocent Iraqi men, women and children.
Important? You betcha.
