Keith, I just had to prove to myself you were going to have yourself in a foaming lather over the Libby verdict. Turned on your show about 5 minutes into it and sure enough, I was right, again. Flipped back to O'Reily for the next 45 minutes, commercial, back to your show for the last few minutes, to my dismay, you were still hammering Libby down the people's throat! I immediately called 2 people that I know that watch your show on a regular basis (libs) and they both said they changed the channel after 10 minutes, wasy too much Libby. In other words, it's known as a "non story." A whole hour on a "non story?" You forgot to mention the post reporter on the jury (shocker) was also Russert's neighbor, a minor point hardly worth mentioning.

What about today's Congressional testimony from the fed prosecutors fired for apparently blatantly political purposes, including one prosecuting Republican officials in the largest alleged Congressional scam in US history and others who felt (quite inappropriately) pressured from members of Congress to speed up investigation of Dems before last year's elections, and the revelation that their previous performance evaluations did not support their dismissals? What about the follow up to Congress's investigation of the scandalous way our returning wounded soldiers are being boarded and treated? What about the nine US soldiers who lost their lives today in the fustercluck of the Iraqi meat-grinder? Clearly this administration has too much scandal and failure for this show to cover in a mere hour. Perhaps Countdown should to expand to two hours per night between now and Jan '09?

The Oil Boys and the Culture of Life, which is what Repubicans were calling themselves at the time, jetted back to the White House to regulate the womb for Jesus and ban late term abortions. Not a woman stood behind them, all old white men. Scooter deserves to be imprisoned for perjury which is what got Billy impeached. Scooter should be forced to ride the Sunni slums on a scooter with a Halliburton flag on it, retrieving dead bodies from our new oil colony. Bush, Cheney and Rice are all oil executives on sabbatical stealing Iraq's oil for One Nation Under God. The non-story is just the tip of the melted iceberg. Is anyone keeping count of the jailed. Where oh where is the Hammer or Foley, the page stalker? Bush, Cheney and Rice are next. The wheels of justice move slowly but it is imperative we keep them greased and moving forward. Jail Bush, Cheney and Rice and give the oil we just stole with the New Oil Law back to its rightful owners and begin Peace Talks in Paris or Cairo. I wish you, other writers/media and the US Congress would not omit (forget?) that the "outing of Plame" led to the exposure of Jennings & Brewster the business/employer and cover company for CIA covert operations throughout the Middle-East. Basically Cheney designed to destroy the CIA ME secret operation and take it over himself because he (is an obsessed Bill Casey-wannnabe lunatic) couldn't place anyone above him at VP. So as VP he appointed himself quasi-intelligence director and dumped the CIA. Furthermore, as far as I understand, the CIA never acknowledges agents killed, arrested, missing, tortured or otherwise compromised. So we may never know whether Cheney exposure of Jennings & Brewster actually led to deaths or other tragic consequences for the USA's covert agents overseas. Cheney's failure and incompetence in this regard is what led to all of these wars and foreign policy disasters now haunting America. In the internet world cloak & dagger crap is in the past. I wish the American public were told more about Jennings & Brewster and less about Plame. Plame seems trivial to many and the GOP corporate media and apologists downplay her position all the time and question whether she was even a real agent etc. This is an aspect of the case paid too little attention. It is clear from the testimony in the Libby trial, now accepted and stamped by a jury, that Cheney himself was the leaker and the mastermind of the criminal revenge on Wilson and the CIA. Libby did not act on his own and he got the information and detailed orders directly from Cheney. Cheney's arrest, detention and prosecution should not even require further investigation. There is no bail for espionage and treason. This is easily THE most serious crime ever directly committed by a Vice-President, or adminsitration of the USA. Watergate pales in comparison. Nixon didn't actually harm anyone. Clinton's "crime" is utterly laughable.

Perhaps you have to weigh the results of his predecessors’ actions to the results Bush has wrought, not just country-wide, but world-wide. (1) I know it hurts for those who made the decision that Bush was the man to be president and voted for him. (2) I know it hurts to have been a devout Republican, but now cannot ignore the facts. I fall into category (2), and I am grateful that I do not have to hurt because I fall into category (1). What it appears now not just possible, but very probable -- Bush/Cheney were responsible for blowing the identity of a CIA operative. That is a felony. I believe Reagan was partly responsible for getting that appalling and dreadful act identified as a felony. I think most of us realize that this is simply one small aspect of far deeper corruption that crosses both party lines. It's the same old wine but perhaps now in clear bottles. We are at the cusp for the future of humanity. The internet has allowed for the wide disemination of truth and is exposing both the current as well past methods of the global elite to rape and pillage. Using false pretenses, such as Iraq's WMD, to generate FEAR and support for wars has been the MO of the elite forever. The truth on Gulf of Tonkin, the sinking of the Maine and the Lusitania plus our deliberate provocation and foreknowledge of the attack on Pearl Harbor are just a few examples. How about the censure and fine of Senator Prescott Bush, Poppy's father, for finacial support of the Nazi war machine before as well as DURING WWII. Our positioning of THREE carrier groups off of Iran will provide a perfect opportunity to either provoke Iran or falsely implicate them in an attack. War with Iran will be a disaster for the US and the the world. Tensions with China and Russia are high already. Why is the US at war? 911 provided the perfect excuse and was an amazing psy-op. The 911 commission report is so full of holes and anomalies that it is beyond ridiculous. As difficult as it is to swallow, it is clear that 911 was an INSIDE JOB and the evidence is massive to support that. This crime and its aftermath of wars is so dastardly that the awakening of enough people to seeing this created MATRIX is essential to stopping this game before it's too late. It surprises me not in the least that someone of Jeff's obviously blunted powers of ratiocination might not understand that (a) Perjury is a serious offense, (b) Plame's exposure destroyed investigations into the illegal sales of nuclear material and caused the deaths of American friends and agents working to get nuclear weapons out of the hands of terrorists and (c) since the perjury was committed to obfuscate the role of the Vice President of the United States, it is a very important story that should lead to intelligent Americans demanding a complete investigation into Cheney's behavior. You see, Jeff, dismissing thoughtful commentaries that you don't understand as "lib" talk reveals a greater deficit in you than in those that you denigrate. The world just doesn't fall into neat categories of "us" and "them" or "good" and "bad." Most issues are far more complex than that and do require discussion and contemplation from many diverse perspectives. That is what Keith O provides that Fox does not. Fox is the Kaptain Kangaroo version of news reporting. MSNBC is for grownups.

Cheney is nearly as evil as Richard Nixon, and is no less deserving of impeachment than Nixon for misleading our great country into an unnecessary war. In one way, Cheney may be worse -- at least no one died as a direct result of Watergate. Cheney, on the other hand, has the blood of over three thousand of our brave soldiers (and possibly hundreds of thousands of Iraqis) on his hands. While we can all gloat about Cheney's absurdly low approval ratings, it is not enough for me -- indictment or impeachment is the only appropriate punishment for this vicious war profiteer.

Re Keith's coverage of the Libby trial -- I am appalled at Scott, San Antonio's words with which he describes Libby: "an unimportant man who committed an unimportant offense....." My husband, too, devoted over 20 years in the military to protect our Constitution and all else that we hold dear. He, however, has kept abreast of the facts and recognizes how totally off-base those comments were. It may be that Libby and his alleged personal offenses of lying, etc., may not in themselves deserve a lot of attention. However, when his trial brings to light the possibility that the Vice-President, and, yes, even our President, could have committed a despicable offense – a felony -- Man, that's Important. The offense – “outing” a CIA Operative. That is what Keith is so properly bringing to the public. That directly ties to the lies perpetrated by the admiistration to scare the country into going along with an unnecessary and dreadful war. Hopefully, those listening/reading will get the big picture. The following is an exact copy of an e-mail I sent yesterday apropos of the severity of the leak of Ms Plame’s operation. Any serious investigation into the motives and methods behind the Plame outing will lead to all the other trails that take you into the deepest and darkest of rabbit holes.
